My favorite meal at A&W Diet Root Beer, Fresh Fries and a Double Mushroom Onion Melt Back Again Kim!

It's all about the root beer and the ice cold mugs. Ordered the fish sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich stayed hot for the longest time and the onion rings are rings. French fries were excellent too and my friend enjoyed the burger. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also great seeing the items in their mini museum since this restaurant has been here forever.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And have I mentioned the root beer? Next time I need to order a jug of it and bring it back for refills. I hope it stays here for many more years to come.

We've been here twice, and both times were a delight. The first time we drove through, there was a funny recording with a French accent, and the second time, it was a pirate. The workers were funny too. Appreciate their spirited good energy. Their onion rings with Papa Sauce are my favorite, so crunchy and satisfying. All of our cheeseburgers were juicy and tasty. A&W rootbeer always hits the spot. We contemplated getting their Cap'N Crunch cereal shake but decided not to give into the temptation. They gave us a bunch of coupons for next time. Smart way to get us to return cause we can get a $1 off that shake.

Best onion rings I've had lately. The bacon was not the best tasting. Very fast service from Door Dash.

First time coming here and my kid definitely approves of this place! Food was pretty good, everything was fresh, staff was friendly and respectful with a happy attitude and my rootbeer was the best rootbeer i ever had. Solid 10/10 for my experience

Was pleased to find this gem after some 40 years of not visiting an A&W restaurant. The root beer float in a frosted mug was out of this world and the Papa Burger was excellent. I hope A&W are able to open a restaurant in the central coast region someday so I can visit them more often.

On a Saturday morning in Late March at 10:30am we finally arrived here for early lunch. There was only one person before us. The ambiance was nice like I was in the 60's. It has 2 glass shelves of nostalgia a&w merchandise and everywhere. The staff person was nice and took our orders. I ordered double cheeseburger combo with fries and large glass mug of A&W root beer. The root bear taste so fresh in a frosted cup compared from a can. The burger taste good with crispy fries. I got full and couldn't finished my mother's onion rings. Nice place to check out if you are in Lodi or on the way to Sacramento.

Great food. And great service. They have great people working here everyone is always kind and in a good mood. My favorite thing to get here is the root beer float.

    Value papa burger

The value meal was cold the bread was hard , the fries were ok , the quality has gone way down

On the way home from a king overdue vacation my wife and I stopped at A&W. As long time Root beer fanatics we were excited to stop by one our way home. The place has awesome cool eclectic decorations everywhere. You can buy huge bottles of Root Beer. So understand that when you order a root beer float it's gonna be an experience. I went with the double bacon burger and regular fries. My wife went with the chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries. Everything we got was perfect and the topper was that huge root beer float in a chilled mug. This place is a must try.

I hadn't been to A&W in years. It was a childhood favorite of mine. I was surprised that my wife had never had a root beer float before and had to change that! Where better than the birth place of A&W! The restaurant was quaint and a throwback! The service was stellar and the root beer floats came out in a frosty mug of goodness! The food was the biggest surprise! The burger was delicious and onion rings rocked! This is now in the rotation!

    Iconic A&W sculpture.

We were visiting from out of town and learned that this A&W location had a collection of memorabilia from through the years. Having grown up on A&W in the 1970s, this was a must-see. The staff at this location are not just professional, but genuinely friendly and enjoying their day. The food was of exceptional quality. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

I know I've…read moredriven past it many times, but I guess their signage is too modest compared to the huge "IDOL BEER WORKS" on the other end of the building. I figured it was just another iteration of the original (now long gone) Squeeze Inn in Sacramento, and I was right. I don't think the various locations are franchises, but are more likely independently owned, and the quality varies from location to location. The one that used to be in West Sac, for instance, was terrible, which might explain why it's been gone for years. And the mid-town was also a resounding MEH, and also gone. There's nothing at any version of Squeeze Inn/Burger that I want more than just a basic Squeeze (or in this case, SQZ) with Cheese, though. I don't want a taco, nor a BLT, and especially not chicken strips. I want that which made the brand famous. A cheeseburger with all the traditional toppings and a cheese skirt just dripping cheese grease off it. SQZ Burger delivers the goods. The cheese skirt was just the right size, not too big, not too small. At one point in my life I would have said that there's no such thing as a cheese skirt that's too big, but a couple of years ago I had a cheese skirt that was so big that I felt sick afterward from all the cheese grease! In addition to the just right amount of cheese, the burger had lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and a healthy schmear of mayo and mustard. Damn near a perfect burger. The owner was running the register on my visit, and when she brought my food out, she asked if I wanted a side of ranch. I'm the kind of guy who would drink ranch dressing if I could, so of course I accepted. I didn't even ask - It was nice of her to offer! There's a throughline from the original Squeeze Inn on Power Inn Road to SQZ Burger, too. The father of the husband half of the H/W ownership team owned the original location. Brandon and Katie ran the Galt location for several years, and have now brought the goodness to a Lodi brick and mortar spot. I'll definitely be back.

I had the western bacon cheeseburger with fries and a strawberry shake. These burger was full of flavor and BIG! Not sure exactly how they make their fries, but they're amazing. And my strawberry shake was good also. We had about 45 people all land at the same time, and SQZ was able to quickly get us all served in short order. I do love the vibe of both SQZ & IDOL. It was a nice little drive both ways with an epic food stop in between.

We've been wanting to try this spot for a while, and since their other location is closed in Sacramento on Tuesdays, we finally made the trip to Lodi and wow, it was absolutely worth it the wait and Abdul that helped us was cool. He had a good sense of humor. We were coming back from Monterey and all of us were hungry. We ordered quite a feast: (3) chicken tikka wraps without lettuce 8 piece chicken tikka 8 piece chicken malai 6 regular naans + 1 garlic naan Tandoori fish order Tandoori chicken pizza Chicken tikka masala rice plate Every single item was flavorful, mouth watering, and cooked perfectly. The chicken tikka and malai were tender and packed with flavor. The naans were soft and fresh, and the chicken tikka masala rice plate had that rich, comforting sauce that was creamy smooth you can't stop eating and dipping your naan into. The tandoori fish was a standout smoky, well seasoned, and tender. They give a lot of meat inside the wraps. The tandoori chicken pizza... let's just say we couldn't even wait to get home. We ate a slice in the car because the smell alone was too tempting. That's how good it was. We took everything to go, the quality was top tier! You can tell they care about their food and flavors and wanting their customers happy. Abdul kept letting us know the status of our order and took care of us with chutney and ranch. I also upgraded my fries to their Bleu fries (topped with bleu cheese crumbles and bleu cheese dressing). The fries were definitely a highlight--served hot, crispy, and perfectly paired with the bleu cheese. My husband was really impressed with the fish and chips, which he hadn't tried here before. The fish was beer-battered and fried, served with fries and coleslaw. He especially liked the coleslaw, noting that it tasted fresh with great flavor and wasn't overly coated in mayo. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and the experience. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

I was recommended to try the pork schnitzel by my friend and it did not disappoint. I got my sandwich with a side salad. We also ordered the deviled eggs to share. My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! Although the window was only separated by a screen door, I have to keep repeating my orders which only consists of chicken burger, curly fries, onion rings, 2 cheeseburger, and 2 drinks. It would help if she would take off her earbuds out of her ear so she can focus on the orders because she messed up names and orders of 2 more customers after us even though they repeated their orders and spelled their name multiple times. There was a bit of a wait, but when our food came, it looked ok. It was served on a food paper container. The cheeseburgers were nothing really to rave about. The fries were ok, but I would like if they had other options for toppings like chili or cheese. The chicken burger was the only one that passed our expectations. It tasted somewhat closer to the ones we were looking for so that was a plus. It would also be nice to have fans outside their area if you decide to eat it there since summertime can be hot.
