Overall,being that I spent damn near $80.00 bucks on two rib dishes, one order of crab wraggon, adding a shrimp fried rice as well! Poor customer service as far as buying the food,but not getting what I paid for, I was supposed to feed four people including myself. This was a delivery order and a disaster! This place was actually the highlight of my Seattle trip. I was watching on YT best places to go eat in Seattle and someone commented that one of the places u actually have to go eat at is A+ HK kitchen. It didn't disappoint. I really wanted to try the baked pork chop over spaghetti since I saw it in the menu and it was soooooo good. The sauce was amazing and the pork chop was very tender. I think the sauce has some time of soy sauce / fish sauce bc it definitely was umami'd up. I love it and I wish I could come back and eat it again. The beef Mala noodles were alright. Holy cow! This place makes a killer Chinese sausage and spare ribs rice clay pot. The toasted rice, the slightly sweetened soy sauce, and the raw egg on top -- all melding into a juicy, crunchy, fatty and salty umami bite. The curry beef brisket noodle soup was equally impressive. The tender chunks of meat and tendon flavored with the curry sauce blended well with the egg noodles and beef broth. Service was fast, efficient and attentive. They regularly checked and refilled our waters. It was a Monday night and the spot was only half filled but it was nice to watch and listen to the HK news on the screens between bites and conversation. Come for the homey food. Note that A+ Kitchen is open for dine-in and takeout. A+ Kitchen is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. It's also probably the most popular restaurant in Chinatown. This past visit, we ordered: crispy beef chowmein, pan fried radish cake, Lovers' fried rice, seafood rice stone pot with XO sauce, and chicken rice stone pot with XO sauce. While all of the food was good, my favorite (and go-to dish) is the Lovers' fried rice which has half tomato sauce with chicken/mushroom and half shrimp, cream, and vegetable sauce on top of fried rice. Service was slow, but it was also very busy on a weeknight at around 7pm. The crowd didn't die down until around 8pm. However, the waiter came over to fill our water several times. Random HK cafe we ran into while we were in Seattle. Got the cart noodles with rice noodles, curry, fish balls, and pork intestines. Pleasant surprise because the noodles were Vietnamese noodles, mochi like, not the standard canto noodles I think. Curry base was strong and flavorful. Intestines were cooked well too. Ordered the egg sando as seen on a recent YouTube review - nothing over the top about it other than for nostalgia...I swear my mom made these when I was a little kid Started our meal with fresh pork prawn n chive dumplings that didn't disappoint - hot, fresh, crispy and served with delicious soy based sauce. It would be incredible with some Chinese mustard n shoyu. My husband adored the brisket rolled noodle bowl. The combo of spices really added a unique and memorable taste to this dish. The star, in my opinion, was the beef n prawn chow fun. You could tell the noodles were FRESH - cooked just a little bit "under", they were springy and had a "bite" to it. Definitely a pleasure to eat something this decadent! The beef was perfectly tender, shrimp succulent and the egg sauce was FIRE. This is the kind of dish that you will NEVER get tired of - it'll be a staple every visit! The food came out hot and fresh and the service was understated but very attentive. As a Cantonese that grew up in LA and now relocated to Seattle, I dearly miss HK style cafes. I grew up eating a wide selection of dishes, like grilled chicken steak, baked pork chop over rice, etc so this time, I ordered one of the classic dishes, the baked pork chop over rice. The people here can speak and understand Cantonese, which makes the ambience authentic at minimum. The baked pork chop over rice is pretty delicious and I wouldn't really say it is better or worse as the style is just slightly different. Here, they bake the cheese very well, that while the picture looks like it is burnt, it gives a fragrant flavor with a slight crisp. The sauce is a little lacking, but the portions are pretty huge and very well priced. However, it is quite salty. The portions are enough to satisfy if you're super hungry, or two meals if you want to leave room for some dessert. Service is just like the OG Chinese places where it is hands off and you need to flag down the servers to fulfill your requests. Meets the expectations. I have been here a few years back and I still agree that the food is not necessarily A+. I would rate it around an A- or A depending on the day. read more

This is probably my 40th time here. Absolutely love this place since it opened. Mala tang is amazing here and the XO rice rolls. I haven't been here since before the pandemic but because the food tastes exactly how I remembered it to be, shows how consistently awesome this restaurant is. Keep it up Ming! I'm not sure where the salted fish part was unless it was bits that were mixed in with the pork, I was expecting chunks of fish. Separate container of ginger soy sauce let me season to my taste. Fun fact: the owners are brothers! The menu items are similar at each restaurant, but Hong Kong Bistro offers all-day dim sum and has a larger seating area. There is always a line at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but it's a testament to its popularity and quality. My favorite thing to order is the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup with Egg Noodle - the beef brisket is soft and melts in your mouth. However, my family loves the rice stone pot, especially the Minced Pork and Salted Fish Rice Stone Pot. It does take about 20-30 minutes for it to cook, so be patient or place your order in advance. I've also enjoyed the spaghetti dishes like the Baked Pork Chop over Spaghetti, which you can also order over rice. It's definitely something you can find in Hong Kong cafes! The selection of drinks and desserts is also amazing, especially the Mango Smoothie with Coconut Milk and Sago. The desserts are light and refreshing, which is perfect in the summer. A+ Hong Kong Kitchen is next to Fuji Bakery and Bank of America. It can be very busy and packed during peak hours (lunch and dinner). They were both okay and satisfied the craving but not good enough to the point where I want to order them again. My favorite thing I got was the Mango sago drink. I am extremely disappointed with remaining dishes/items. There was barely any meat on my rice dish and the rice was dry/harden. The salted pork was super chewy and no flavor at all; also very fatty pieces. The sausage was super soft and lack of texture like the usual Chinese sausage that I'm familiar. The mango sago pomelo was in a small soup container, nothing like the drink photo on their menu. It was super thick and very sweet with heavy coconut cream taste. The clay pot rice was served with soy sauce on the side, with soft rice on the inside and crispy around the edges. He said the salted pork tasted similar char siu. My noodle soup had a homey taste perfect for a chilly night. The beverage seemed like a popular item as we saw a lot of orders for it. Just make sure to mix well if you get a chance to try it. My favorite part is the crispy rice on the bottom, which overrides the other aspects I just mentioned. The waiters were pretty attentive with checking on us and giving us water. This place gets an A+ and not for having that grade in their name but for the wonderful food and the cha chaan teng "Hong Kong" style choices as well! We ordered the curry beef brisket lo mein and veggies with the noodle cooked to crispy perfection. The spare ribs and bok choy over rice stone pot takes 20 minutes to make but once you pour on the soy sauce you'll hear the sizzle and then enjoy the crunch of the crunchy rice you scrap off the bottom of the pot. The beef brisket lo mein has a nice sauce and comes with a side of dipping soup. One dish you must order is the stir fried rice roll with XO sauce that has a nice kick! Those of you hating on this place: you ordered the WRONG things! As a matter of full disclosure, I usually do not order the Mala Tang (this soup is more Szechuanese/Taiwanese, and A+ focuses on HK cuisine), Cart Noodle (I can make this shit at home!), or Stone Pot Rice dishes (just not that interested #meh). Here's what I love at A+ and what I recommend: Curry Fish Balls - amazing sauce full of umami! Even after gobbling up the balls, I still nibble on the curry sauce. Fish Congee - flavorful with large chunks of fish fillet! The thickness of the congee is also spot on - worst thing about congee is if it is too watery. Grilled/Baked Steak/Pork Chop dishes - very comforting! Love the not-overly-salty flavor and the generous portions. Stir Fried Rice Rolls with XO Sauce - hands down my favorite here!! Oily? It is, but it's not over the top. Also love the smokiness from the seasoned wok - in Canto, it's "wok hei." The place is not big so expect a wait if you go during feasting hours. We saw the pictures of clay pot rice on the outside and couldn't walk past! This place definitely has the homey chinese restaurant vibe, and it was pretty packed when we went in for lunch (though we didn't have to wait to be seated). We got the Szechuan Lamb Lo Mein and two clay pot rices (Spareribes + Chinese Sausage and Chicken + Mushroom). The Lo Mein was alright, a little dry and I wish there was more sauce for the noodles, but basically what you would expect. The star of the show, the clay pots, definitely satisfied our craving. There was so much crispy rice (锅巴) at the bottom and the spareribs and chicken were both very juicy and tender. The sauce we were given to pour on top really topped it off. We got the braised beef with too lord rice noodles, it actually a really big size for a snack. However, disappointingly the meat is mostly fat. By ut the noodles and meat have good flavor. It's not a big space so it might be a while to get a table especially for parties of 5 and more. STIR FRIED RICE ROLLS WITH XO SAUCE ($7.95) - One of my all-time favorite Chinese dishes ever and I liked these! They aren't spicy which I really wish they were but still good nonetheless. Make sure to ask for hoisin sauce to dip in! 5/5 BEEF MALA TANG ($10.95) - We ordered this with medium spicy which I thought was the perfect spice level. The broth was so good!! This is perfect for a cold day. 4.5/5 SALTED PORK & CHINESE SAUSAGE RICE STONE POT ($10.25) - People on here recommended to get the clay pot and the salted pork & Chinese sausage was a no-brainer. Make sure you scrap all the crispy bits at the bottom! 4/5 BEEF FRIED RICE ($10.25) - I thought the fried rice was good but not like mind-blowing. I thought it was perfectly seasoned though but other than that it was just a solid fried rice. You can't go wrong with it! 4/5 SAUTÉED VEGETABLE WITH GARLIC ($9.75) - We ordered this mainly because we needed some sort of vegetable with all the other foods we got. There were tons of garlic flavor which was lovely. They don't have a lot of options for greens (why no snow pea leaves?!) so that's one gripe I have. 3/5 Altogether the total for everything we got was $64 after tax and tip. We came here wanting some Chinese food and even after a Seahawks game, there was still seating available. We ordered 4 dishes and they came fairly quickly. Like all Chinese restaurants, they come one at a time. So even though we ordered 1 clay pot rice, 2 noodle dishes, and 1 tofu dish, we shared them so that it wasn't just one person eating at a time. I forgot the names of these dishes, but they were the only vegetarian dishes they had. The unfortunate thing is that they all had basically the same vegetables and mostly similar sauce, but they were all still good. The steaming rice was so fluffy plus crispy along the edges of the pot. Towards the end I honestly was just eating rice by itself because it was that good. Toppings included tender spareribs, couple slices of Chinese sausage, and bok choy. Surprisingly the ribs don't have much flavor so I ended up having to use all of the provided soy sauce. This place reminded me of my childhood when my mom used to bring me to these types of restaurants in the Bay Area where the service was just okay but the food and quantity of it makes up for everything. When we first walked in, we weren't greeted and everyone just kind of ignored us until we said something. Then we got seated and had to get our own menus. Then we had to tell them we were ready to order. I mean, not really the best of starts but so many good reviews of this place that I knew the food had to be good. We were not disappointed. Food was out within 10 minutes and it's like two meals for one. The portion size is huge and I would recommend either coming in super hungry or be prepared to bring some home.
