Stayed over night in the area and needed to find dinner. My boyfriend and I always try to find good local places wherever we travel and this was no exception. Their pasta dishes were incredible, as was their pizza. We also got a blueberry cheesecake calzone for dessert and it was to die for! It reminded me of a toaster strudel in the best way. We also got to talk with the owners and learn a bit about the history of the place, that it's family owned and many of the recipes are their grandmothers. If we ever find ourselves in Scranton again we'll definitely be making a stop back. read more

This place is amazing! The most real Italian food I have ever had. The prices are amazing and the staff is super friendly. My mom and I went for lunch. It smelled so amazing and there were so many options. We just couldn't decide want to get. So we ordered an antipasto platter, pizzette margherita, and a split order of baked gnocchi. It was all out of this world. The meats with the antipasto were so flavorful. The pizza was as real and fresh as it gets. And it was definitely the best sauce ever. The also have this nice option for the entrees were for $3 less you can get a small portion or for $3 more you can make it for 2 people and it comes with an extra salad. We ordered enough to be able to bring enough home for 2 more meals and spent less than $40. Can't wait to go back! read more

We were in town to visit Marywood U and this was recommended as a delicious spot to grab dinner. It did not disappoint! We all got pasta dishes that were cooked perfectly, and the sauces were devine. Our server Ed was wonderful. They crafted each dish to our liking. I had the baked gnocchi with vodka sauce and added mushrooms. Wow! The house dressing is a honey vinegrette, and I would highly recommend it. The portions were large, and we all took home leftovers. We will definitely return! read more

Dined here last night for the first time. This is hands down the best Italian in NEPA that I have tried after many disappointing meals. These guys know flavor. Pasta cooked to al dente. I had the chicken Francese which was delightfully garlicky, lemony and buttery. I won't get the house salad dressing again because it is super sweet which many like. I am more a tradition oil and vinegar girl. We were waited on by a delightful young man who was caring for pretty much everyone in the restaurant. Sure it was chilly when the door of this cute tiny establishment opened, but it was reminiscent of my childhood and young adulthood in NYC in tiny restaurants. Great food, the smell of garlic and a little cool breeze each time the door opened which for a small business in this side of town was awesome. I will be back again and again. Stopped here while passing thru Scranton. Little tricky to get to. Parking is annoying. Small little joint with 70's or 80's throw back "youre in Italy" motif . It's mid afternoon so the oven isn't under pressure. Bottom of the pie is crispy crust. Top of crust is a little doughy. Cheese is fair, sauce is faint, mushrooms are fresh & sausage is the star. Whether you live around here or taking a road trip like we were, you definitely need to try this place out! We were a couple hours away when we found this restaurant on Yelp and our party of 10 needed to plan dinner. When we called, Miguel explained that it would probably be busy during the time we were driving in, but he'd give us a call back around that time (7:30pm) to let us know. Let me just say this: NO restaurant in LA has ever offered this type of customer service!!! Ever. Wow! I was skeptical of him calling back (sorry, it's the LA thinking in me) but he did call back during his busy peak time at dinner! He told us it's pretty busy and he apologized that he wouldn't be able to seat us. After hanging up, we looked at the menu and decided that we should just pick up the food and eat it in our hotel room. Miguel was very helpful in deciding what to order for our group of 10. Let me just tell you: EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. Everything. Their clam sauce was bomb, their ravioli with marinara sauce was so fresh, their "gotta have it" stramboli was mouth watering, and their spaghetti and meatballs was slightly sweet and delicious. I love this place a little restaurant with big flavor Italian food. The owner is almost always behind the counter making fresh pizza pies and his wait staff is the friendliness and always on the ball and that's not easy to do because they get busy. They don't serve alcohol but you are always welcome to bring your own and if you forget wine glass are a bottle opener they are more than happy to accommodate you. Now I have been there many many times and the reason I keep going back is that the food is so so good I have never had a bad meal here and they really make you feel at home. A small, but mighty restaurant!! if you're lucky enough to get a reservation you're in for a BIG treat! The menu is huge and it's hard to choose, but you can't make a mistake with anything you choose! Darrin, the owner and chef is a culinary wonder. Our server, every time we've been there, has been Ed. He makes the service seem easy. There were 10 of us today and there were no mistakes made with any of our orders and no complaints either, just quiet while everyone was enjoying what they ordered. I have celiac disease and A Little Pizza Heaven offers a great selection of gluten free items. I have had chicken piccata (or francais) and it was very good! Today, the waitress informed me the chef makes his own gluten free dough and I asked if he could make a calzone. She said yes or a Stromboli! Very disappointed! After reading the reviews I had high expectations, along with word-of-mouth reviews from other customers. I was not impressed, the main concern was the fact that the pizza was of ample size but that's where it ends, the sauce has a bitter taste to it leading me to think it's right out of the can, but what really disturbed me was the overuse of corn meal, and the fact that the ovens probably needed cleaning. The bottom of the crust had turned black from using too much corn meal on the dough, no one wants to end up having dirty hands after eating their slice of pizza. Three were perfect and the fourth was just fine. The chef/owner is an awesome guy who is a student of pizza. I said I used to live in CT and he started rattling off all the best pizza places in the state. They take custom orders (my wife likes a particular chicken, broccoli, thin crust, white pizza they made perfectly) and their plain cheese (the single most important test) is perfect. The only let down was the owner's favorite. He makes a margarita pizza that was, in my opinion, uninspired. It was just fine. Not good or bad. Just fine. All in all, solid. There was little to no seasoning in the dish - it's like they opened a ricotta container and just filled the pasta. The sauce was tomato paste and little else. So good. Their pizza is the best New York style in town and up there with some of the best pizzas in town. The antipasto is the best antipasto I've ever had. Whenever we get it somewhere else my dad asks me if it's as good as Little Pizza Heaven and it never is.
