I bookmarked this restaurant after reading Charles N's review and seeing pictures of the clay jar chicken. I had the day off work Friday and decided to try it for lunch. Interior was very nice with modern aesthetics, A/C on, upbeat music, and both table and booth seating. I was given a booth and a menu. Since I was by myself I ordered the dry noodles with clay jar chicken thigh. It came with soup and a leafy green vegetable. I also ordered an iced tea. My meal looked and smelled heavenly. The soup was an almost clear chicken broth yet was infused with so much flavor. Packed a garlicky punch too. The meal came with a dipping sauce plus more condiments were provided on the table. Honestly the chicken had so much flavor I used it very sparingly. The skin and meat had so much flavor. Unfortunately there was hardly any meat. Thank goodness it came with a leg because the thigh was pretty much all bone with a tiny smidge of meat. I'm wondering if you order the leg version of this dish if you get two legs? Would be a much better deal. The meat I did get I tried getting out of every nook and cranny. It was chopped oddly with a cleaver so I had to be very careful with small bone fragments. The noodles were cooked perfectly with a great texture and garlicky flavor. Large portion so this helped fill me up. The leafy green I haven't seen before. Tasted like bokchoy yet looked similar to spinach. After some google searching I think it's "water spinach". Whatever it was I really enjoyed it and dipped it in the accompanying sauce. Fried chicken skin was also sprinkled all over the dish. On the table was a garnish of thin sliced pickled garlic which paired great with everything. By the end you will have garlic breath. Only negative is I never saw my server again. My iced tea was brought to my table half empty and I never get another refill. Maybe there is no refills but I was super thirsty and could have bought another round or gotten some water. Maybe I was expected to get up and ask? Overall I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely return. read more

We came on a Friday evening. There is ample parking in the plaza. The restaurant is bright and warm. Service was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Clay Jar Grilled Chicken, which was crunchy and tasty. We also had the Goat Curry, which had an interesting and new note that was minty and herby, making it quite different from other curries. Delicious! This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Met her for lunch here with my two kids. We ordered: Pho Ga Dui (Chicken Pho w/Thigh)- broth was soooo good and flavorful, I was very impressed. My 5 year old loves pho and this was right up his alley! Xoi La Dua (Pandan Sticky Rice) - both of my boys LOOOVED this, especially because it was green. They called it "hulk rice" and it was so tasty. We loved the pandan flavor and the perfect sweetness of the rice. It was cooked to the perfect texture as well. Mi Kho Ga Nuong Lu Dui (Dry Noodle, Soup, Clay Jar Grilled Chicken Thigh) - OMG the seasoning on their chicken is delicious! I would eat their clay jar grilled chicken over and over again. It's so savory and tasty, perfectly cooked and juice as well. The chicken was not dry at all. Mango Slushy - note that it's a chamango, they don't write that on the menu. Didn't know what to expect and I ended up enjoying the food here so much! My mom raved about this place due to their unique grilling style in a jar. She said this is the only place in OC that grills chicken like how they do it in Vietnam so off we went for dinner on a Saturday night. It wasn't super busy so we were seated right away and we got to ordering. The popular meal set is a whole chicken "ga nuong lu" along with crispy rice and the pandan rice. The chicken is the best grilled chicken I had. You can taste the grilling if that makes sense. It was flavorful and not dry at all. I loved dipping it in the darker soy sauce. From the two rice sides, my favorite was the yellow crispy rice however that's not to say the pandan rice wasn't good either. Just my preference! Chicken was super crispy yet still remains very juicy. There are 3 sauces options that paired perfectly with the chicken and crispy rice. Though i was mainly there to try the chicken, i was very surprised with how good their fried rice cake with eggs is. So perfectly seasoned and crispy. The only place in OC that does Clay Pot Chicken! What does this mean? Juicy, flavorful and delicious chicken that makes makes all of their chicken dishes excellent. They are located in their own plaza with a small lot. I havent had any trouble finding parking yet. My table ordered the whole chicken and some cripsy rice on the side. My favorte part of this was the skin, it was flavorful and crispy. The chicken was juicy and tender. The clay pot method really pays off here. Really good seasoning for their food, especially their clay jar chicken! Dry noodle was really well seasoned too, similar to garlic noodles. We also got a glass noodle soup with chicken. It included bamboo and the flavour of the bamboo was quite strong, so if you dislike bamboo I'd say steer clear of this dish. It had great flavours though. read more

When I went to pay, the cashier mumbled something about an automatic tip.
