Vittorio paccheri a NY - undercooked and overly chewy. Was told it was meant to be like this but didn't like it getting stuck to my teeth

Walked into this place based on a friend's recommendation and received quite the sticker shock - appetizers were around $30 and some pasta dishes were around $35 and up. We got to sit at the chef's counter which gives you a nice view of the chefs hard at work! Its pretty cool to see how ingredients are portioned ahead of time and some dishes use the same pan if it's the same sauce. We ordered two dishes -Tagliatelle al tartufo nero and Vittorio paccheri a NY. The truffle parmesan pasta was delicious but not necessarily worth the price. The tomato-based pasta was very okay - if I made it at home, I'd be relatively satisfied, but it was essentially 8 pieces of pasta in a tomato sauce and all the pasta was undercooked. When I brought this up to a waiter, they said it was meant to be like that - pasta that sticks to your teeth? It was white and chalky and tough to chew and overall very unpleasant. It did come with bread which was good for dipping in the tomato sauce at least. Overall, overpriced, definitely would not go again or recommend to anyone unless you don't mind spending that much on something you can make at home.

Walking up to the restaurant, it is absolutely beautiful with florals all over the building exterior. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating where you can watch the chefs do their cooking right in front of you. It took the hostess a little bit to notice that we were standing in front. Now to the food... we ordered carpaccio de salmone, spaghetti with clams and Maltagliati Salsiccia which has house made Iberian sausage which was recommended by our waiter. We waited for quite some time before anything came out. Not sure what took so long since our reservation was at 5:30pm and it wasn't packed house. The appetizer carpaccio came first and boy was it salty. When I say salty I mean salty af. We took 2 bites each to be exact and left the rest. It came w a side of fresh, still warm chips. I have never ordered a carpaccio where it was too salty. But doesn't it say something when customers don't finish the app and don't ask for takeout box to leave with it? The waiter actually asked us how the food was and I specifically mentioned that it's way too salty and he just brushed it off. Lol we barely touched the plate. The clam spaghetti was pretty standard. The Iberian sausage pasta was not good with the type of cheese they put on top bc it became cold and hard to break off within less than 15 mins. The pasta ended up being hard as well. Only thing good abt this spot is the aesthetics.

Everything about this pasta bar in SoHo was fantastic from start to finish. The service, the vibe, the food, all of it was on point. But the pistachio dessert? I'm still thinking about it days later. Absolutely unforgettable. Highly recommend if you're in the area, this place is a must-try.

A pasta bar was a nice experience. I took my mother there for her birthday. I must say everything was fresh, which was very enjoyable. The price is a little on the more expensive side so you'll be paying $30 for a plate with no meat on it, but that's the average amount for their plates. Have I had better yes but if you like restaurants for their popularity and the NYC sex and the city aesthetic look, this is the place for you. The Drinks are good. The service was good. The best part that I like about eating here was their Caesar salad delicious everything was crisp and fresh. Otherwise, I think an influencer came and made this place popular to be honest. No shade!

This was a fun spot for a group dinner. Dress in layers as this time of year it gets super toasty inside from the kitchen and the heat. We started off with a. Few drinks and the meatballs. So tender and delicious. I ordered the cacio e pepe and it was delicious and the perfect portion. It was also easy to split our bill and the service was exceptional.

WOW...this pasta is another level! My husband took me here for lunch and I LOVED it! Such a different experience to sit by the bar and see how they make your dish. We decided to share the tagliatelle al Tartufo the pipe rigate alla norma. The tagliatelle might be pricier but it was worth every penny. The amount of truffle they serve is so generous. The pasta with eggplant was also delicious. The pasta is cooked to perfection and the quantities are big. All the chefs and servers were great, very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and elegant.

Decided to try this spot after visiting a pop up. Food was good. I didn't like the sauce with the bread which was $7. I thought it was complimentary but it's fine. Food was good. The nonalcoholic drink was good but very small for not having alcohol in it. $14. Love the cook in front of you. Service was good but wasn't a fan of the auto 22%. I felt awkward changing it to 20%. So I didn't. Other than that the ambiance was cool

We walked in without a reservation and as mostly gluten free, I was concerned about what I would order. My daughter and I split the carpaccio salmon and asparagus and the food was fantastic. It was much better than I expected. The prices were high but I think normal for the area. The portions were also satisfactory which I also wasn't expecting. Overall a great place to go for dinner and also loved the bar with the kitchen in the middle.

Great prices for a tasting menu. Service was prompt, Didn't have reservations but was seated by chefs table. Food & drinks delicious, truffle pasta was my favorite however desserts were underwhelming.

It smells really good here and it is always busy but the pasta is just okay in my opinion. Nothing spectacular. Perhaps I didn't get the right thing but the service was great. I sat outside with my pup and the ice server even brought some water out for my dog. So sweet!

I have been wanting to come to this place for the longest I've spoken to friends and others about it and couldn't wait to take my fiancè here for date night. I found parking right in front and was sure to make a reservation prior so that we wouldn't have any problems jic they were busy. We sat at the bar which to me is the best seats to have. It was intimate and beautiful setting watching them make every dish. There is a small bar on the other side of the bar that is shared with the kitchen area, I couldn't wait to get started. To begin we started with an espresso martini and an unknown caller which is a spicy martini they were both good. For appetizer we ordered the truffle pizza which I must say is worth every single penny, It was an eye catching moment when they started grating the truffle on the pizza everyone around the bar couldn't help but watch the massive amount that was shredded on top. As far as taste goes it was fantastic looked as amazing by as it tasted we both enjoyed it such a good way to start off. For our second drink we ordered a White Russian and an espresso martini which we both enjoyed also I do have to say the White Russian was so delicious. Now to the entrees we chose the Mezzi Rigatoni Al Ragu bolognese which he did enjoy he said it had good flavor but also did wish he had more, the Tagliatelle All'Astice lobster pasta which I thought was good I did want to trade out the pasta however we were unable to so I stuck with it I do think the pasta was harder than my liking so I did not enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Lastly the Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe which we both thought was mid we could have done without it, there was nothing special about this dish. For Dessert we had the Homemade Tiramisu which was his favorite he enjoyed it! This was the perfect way to end dinner. We had an amazing time here enjoying the view and one another's company I would say it was an experience. Unfortunately this was my last night with the love of my life he passed away the next day and this will forever my last memory of us together.

Came here a few times over the past few years, and previously loved it. This time, i don't know if they changed their chef or just had a bad day, but it was WAY off from what I remembered. We started with a salmon carpaccio, which if you're Italian, you know doesn't go with cheese but it came with a hefty amount of Parmesan (and not even the real stuff, it was pregrated, dry, tasted like Kraft). I tried to be optimistic because my cousins were there and I didn't want them to feel disappointed. They ordered the tasting menu and were satisfied with 3 out of the 5 dishes they received. I ordered a pasta alla Norma, the sauce was no where to be found, the pomodoro served tableside (it was not tableside it just came in a pot and they removed the top? Also was supposed to be with parmaggiano, again they just sprinkled Kraft on top? And it was way undercooked more than al dente. AND there were maybe 8 pieces of paccheri in the dish? Overall not happy with that one). And my brother got thee raviolo al uovo, which when I had it the first time it was a delectable dish paired with white truffles, it was rich and creamy and didn't make you feel heavy. My brothers I took one bite of it and it felt like premade Alfredo sauce not at all the same what I remembered. I will say that we did enjoy the bread and taralli with ricotta for starters. The atmosphere was also cool but I don't think I'd return again. Each time I'm slightly more disappointed.

We came here on a Friday night to celebrate a special occasion. This place is decently popular so I would recommend having a reservation rather than attempting to walk in. The restaurant is very soho trendy, with music playing and nice decor. The chefs counter allows you to fully view the kitchen working and dishing out pastas. We started with the chefs salad, which was so good! It was shaved cucumber over avocado, and while it was unconventional it was so delicious. We also ordered the cacio e Pepe and the raviolo with an egg yolk and truffle. The cacio e Pepe was a favorite for us, and it was fun watching them make it. Next time I would like to try the seafood option since it looked and smelled great. For dessert we had their pistachio gelato. It was fine but nothing special. Overall, I really enjoyed my time but likely will not be going back. The prices were high even by NYC standards and I know I can get better plates of pasta elsewhere. I'm glad I tried it for a special occasion, it was worth going once!

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas

When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

L'Artusi opens reservations 14 days prior, and given its popularity, you must book immediately. Our…read moreparty of five managed to snag a table this past Saturday evening. The interior was completely packed, and the noise level was high enough for my smart watch to complain. To sample a bit of everything, we shared two orders of focaccia, four pastas, and one dessert. HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.

I called L'Artusi on Friday, August 21st just to check on a reservation, and the woman who answered…read morethe phone was immediately snotty. Instead of simply confirming it, she made a comment like "you should know if you've been here before," which was unnecessary and pretty rude for such a basic question. It wasn't a busy‑restaurant kind of tone--it was just attitude. Not exactly the first impression you expect from a place that tries to present itself as polished. A quick, polite confirmation would've gone a long way, but instead it felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a restaurant with their reputation, having someone speak to guests like that over a simple call really doesn't help the image.
