But the other barbers there are also good. I was so impressed at their hygiene and Covid care. They clean the entire station with alcohol, Clorox wipes, and even use a UV light sanitizer. I also seen them change the air filter on the air purifier unit while I was there. If you are worried about cleanliness and want a great hair cut A's Barber Shop is the place. Oh I forgot to mention they sanitize the door handles after every customer and never reuse scissors or combs on the same day. They go straight to the barbicide. First time for my kids and I. We now normally cut our hair at my uncles barber shop, but he's on vacation for a month in another country and I can't wait lol. Researching on YELP, I found this little barber shop. I took a chance and they did awesome. We had Patie and Lani. It's $16 for ages 12yrs+ and $15 for 11yrs or younger. They do a quick and awesome job. What threw me off was that they provide shoulder massages too lol. Shoot, if it's free then why not right? That would explain why I seen another guy getting a massage when we first entered and I had to double look to make sure I was in the right place lol. There are 4 parking stalls in the little parking lot right before the shop itself. They have been here since 1999 and have expanded their shop into 2 different spaces right next door to each other. I went in with my boyfriend for a haircut, and while he was getting a haircut I wanted to get my hair washed quickly. I was told a different price for a hair wash, excluding a hair cut. And I was still charged the full price for a haircut even though I only got my hair washed. I didn't even get my hair dried. I left just dripping and upset. Our normal stylist was unable to fit us in at the last minute so naturally I turned to yelp. They took appt for 2 kids same day and I was thrilled. I went to the main location on 1275 S King street there were 3 stylists working they sent me about 3 doors down to the 2nd location with 2 stylists. Both were great and did a great job on my boys haircut. I appreciated the fact they didn't rush it and took the time to ensure it was straight and double checked with me and the kids that the cuts was good. Price was $14 for a kids cut they were efficient and they must be good since a lot of people came here while I was waiting. Don't forget CASH ONLY! We came here short notice. My boyfriend needed a hair cut before our staycation he has been unhappy with his usual for awhile so we looked up some places and we found a's barber shop. It's a very small shop and they took him in on such short notice. The ladies were very nice. He was unsure what he wanted done this time around. His barber helped him out and insured him if he's unhappy they'll try something else out. That treatment we have never received before. Tips: they only take checks or cash. I find it hard to give a totally honest review of places like this. I been coming here for years and I see Pat for my haircuts. Having a barber is kind of personal...it's about the relationship you build with them over the years. I have developed such a relationship and if I get my haircut by someone else it's usually one the other girls who work here too! My bf is growing his hair out, but he wanted to get a line-up to make it look more clean. I yelp barber shops in the area we were in and found A's on King street! They are located on the right side of King street. Pass Pensacola, Piikoi, and a small street (Birch st.) and they are right at the corner. We parked on the street. You can only park after 6:30pm but we took the risk and parked at 6:15 because when we looked at the shop. They were getting busy! We walked in and ALL 3 barbers greeted us. We sat down and carefully watch how they cut hair. Me and my bf were impressed and these 3 small ladies! It was about 6:30 when there was an open chair. My bf's hairstylist was Dee. She kindly apologizes for the wait ande xplains that usually they have 3 more barbers but they left for the day. She is such a sweetheart, and every 5 minutes while cutting my bf's hair, she asked me if I liked it. She did his line-up perfect followed by a wash and some leave in conditioner. She tells him that it comes with a massage but since men were still walking in, if it is okay that she pass the massage and help the other customers and usually they massage the people who are waiting. Of course my bf says yes! That's great customer service. Shoooot, some places don't even give massage, so he's happy that they even offer it! Everything came out to $15, and he tipped her $5. I take my son here to get his hair cut. Friendly people and inexpensive! I call to make appointments for my son with Pat or Lani. They are very nice people and do a great job my my son's hair. Private Parking lot is located before the venue. You can only park in the A's marked stalls with their signs. There is also street metered parking. I believe on street parking is only until 3:30 and then you'll have to move your car so it doesn't get towed. They have a lot of regulars that frequent their shop, always busy while I have taken my son. Go check them out! read more

A or her sister cut my hair. it's a decent haircut for relatively cheap. You get your haircut, a rinse (no shampoo) and a brief neck and shoulder rub for $15. I love that I don't even have to say how I want my haircut, they just know how I like it already (benefits of being a regular). You can walk in, but it's best to call ahead, you probably don't want the ladies trying to rush your haircut before their next appointment comes in (which they will do, and can affect how good your cut is...and even worse, cut into the quality of your shoulder/neck rub). A warning. I've seen plenty of guys get roped into paying extra for their full massage. The lady that does your massage IS NOT the same as the ladies cutting your hair. I've seen guys come in, get all goo-goo eyed over their hair dresser, fork over another $50 for an hour massage...thinking the girl that cut their hair is going to give them a hour long massage, only to be bewildered when some other lady emerges from the back to give the massage (and she's definitely not one of the haircut girls). Just a heads up to know what you're getting. Some guys act like the place is a hostess bar (with less drinks and more hair cuts). I think that's kinda funny. And bring cash. My hair cutter is Vieng, who works at the back left corner. She is personable, experienced and professional. She is often busy, but she never rushes to finish when cutting my hair, no matter how many people are waiting. She does an amazingly great job and I know that she pays attention to detail. She can figure out what to do just based on experience. My haircut experience: 1) call for an appointment 2) park in the back or on king street 3) Vieng brings me to the chair and sometimes I show her a picture of how I liked it from before. It helps, but she doesn't really need it. 4) she cuts my hair with clippers, buzzer, etc 5) she shows me the haircut with a mirror to make sure I like it 6) she washes my hair 7) she towels my head off and then gives me a quick 3-5 minute massage of my head and shoulders 8) she offers me gel or wax 9) I pay her All the ladies seem awesome, though. I can tell that they all know what they are doing. They do cut women's hair, but all I've ever seen in there are men, so I would just recommend this place for men. read more

Decent haircut but I was disappointed with the overall experience on my last visit. One thing that set this barber shop apart in the past was the rinse and massage after the haircut. I had a long day at work and have a long weekend ahead. I was really looking forward to visiting this barber for the extra time they spend on the customer at then with the added rinse and massage. However, I had a minute massage and was told to check in with the other barbers instead of just popping into the first shop. I come to this barbershop every 2-3 weeks and make sure to make an appointment so I can request Meow as my barber. She is very good at making sure your hair looks good by the time you're out the door. I found this barbershop using yelp and it was a great find. My 12 yo son needed a haircut badly. While his brother was at practice, I looked up the closest barber nearby. A's came up with good reviews and a price I did t mind paying. Parking: if you blink you'll miss the entrance to the lot; look for the iron gate before the shop. The parking was a bit tight due to oversized cars parked over their lines. Shop: shop looks old but clean. There's a waiting area to the left when you walk in. We called 45 minutes before we came in to make an appointment. They didn't ask for my name on the phone just said, "ok, 5 o'clock." We got there 10 minutes before 5 and my son sat in the chair by 5:15. The barbers take their time here. For the most part, no one talks to you because they are busy watching tv. I got a bit nervous at one point because the girl that was working on my son's hair had the electric razor in one hand about to cut his hair while she watched her show. To her credit, she did stop watching when she started shaving near his neck and ear. The cost of the cut is $15 cash or Check and supposed to come with a hair rinse and a shoulder massage. Everyone there got those things or was offered but the gal never offered my son a rinse (which I was really hoping for) or a neck massage. I'm assuming she didn't get him one because he was young but she could've offered him a hair rinse. Needless to say, the cut was even and my son was happy to have a haircut. His neck where they shaved was razor-burned, itchy and irritated the remainder of the evening. She didn't put any powder on it either. read more
