We had a great time, party of 12, celebrating three birthdays. Food was okay, our hibachi chef was GREAT! he made the evening super fun. Then they kicked us out to have the table. Our reservation was for 6 and by 7:15, literally as soon as we were done eating and paid the bill and FYI tipped very well, they asked us to leave to have the table! They literally were cleaning up around our 93 year old mother because she was taking too long. SHAME! One suggestion for the owners I eat out by myself a lot and love Hibachi and the place has a perfectly good bar with draft beer but they seem to discourage dining at the bar for some reason. Seems odd to me but if they do serve at the bar I may be a more frequent customer. read more

Ordered take out for NYE. Can't speak for the ambiance of the restaurant as we just did take out but the sushi/sashimi I ordered for take out was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. My hibachi experience here was fun and entertaining. We shared a hibachi table with another group for a total of 6. (Sharing hibachi tables is to be expected unless you have a large party.) The food was decent. I ordered the salmon and steak combination which came with soup, salad, my choice of fried rice, vegetables, and two shrimps. My only grumble is they drenched everything. The salad was swimming in dressing, and the hibachi-cooked food, especially the rice was soaked in soy sauce. What the heck was this foods, it was disgusting. The fried rice what type of fried rice is this "it was rice and some kind of sauce added to it" which didn't look appealing at all and it leaves a strange taste in your mouth. We had to wait for about two hours for the food, just for it to not be what we thought it was. I come here with my mom and little sister for new experiences, not only was it expensive it was also burnt. I didn't look at the reviews because I thought it was a bit harsh but they were right, I just wished that I looked at the reviews before coming here. We came here pre-covid and it was good. Came here last night for the first time in a long time. The floors were super sticky, the waitress was miserable and never came back to refill our drinks, and the bathrooms were eh. Our cook was good and the food was good. We were very pleased with this stop. Do yourself a favor and try something new. I tried the mango egg roll, very very tasty. My guest also tried something new and loved it especially when it arrived to the table sizzling and steaming in an iron skillet, and It smells delicious. Friendly staff and on top of their jobs keeping our glasses full and our dirty plates removed. They explained what I wanted to know about my choices of food. I definitely recommend this place. COCKROACH! Went to this place at the recommendation of a family member despite seeing the poor rating. We were a party of eleven. At first glance the place is dirty. The floors were dirty and the hibachi room just depressing. Nothing to make it visually appealing at all. Then to make matters worse a cockroach crawled across the table after the waiter set down the tray of water. We left immediately and will never return. There's no excuse for a restaurant to be dirty. They should be inspected by the Dept. of health as now that I'm reading the reviews this isn't the first time people have reported the filthy conditions. Wish I had read them before. I love their fried rice, it's my favorite thing at A1 Hibachi. The chicken is pretty good with the rice. I will try scallops, shrimp and filet mignon. I don't like the soup, I don't like the salad, although spicy dressing is good. The food was great and our cook was great. I'm giving 4 stars because they took along time to even come over and take our drink orders. We had to flag someone down to get refills and they seriously rushed us out after the cook was done. I maybe took 6 bites before the cleaning people were there trying to clean up and set up for the next group. The hibachi is the best part of A1. They are fun an lively. Food is decent. Even if you go and sit in the back for a regular menu and Japanese food it's still pretty good. Sushi isn't bad. Considering it's in a strip mall it's better than you'd expect. It's not high end by any means. But it gets the job done. read more

Looks are deceiving. Floor was sticky, and would not seat us until everyone arrived, only 2 could not make it for hibachi. We were then seated with an attitude and the table around the flat top was not clean, I could see and rubbed the film off with my napkin. Build up on the back of the flat cook top was obvious. Noodles were hanging from under the other one near the grease catcher. Our Server was good and the best part of the night. Our Chef, "Jason", was decent not a ball of fire and obviously hampered and bothered by the mask his food was flavorful, but the portions were utterly disappointing. I can and will say, dinner was flavorful. I ordered Steak and shrimp, I got 1/3 of a strip steak cut into 6 pieces and 6 small shrimp not even a 1/4LB of protein, half a spatula of veggies and a very disproportionate serving of rice to the other 3 parts. So, for a place who is highly recommended on a lot of sites, I was surprised to come on yelp and only see a 3-Star average! I just had a great meal - fresh fish, and CHEAP. Wow, I couldn't believe how cheap!! Most rolls were less than $5, and specialty rolls were in the $9-12 range... so affordable. Wines are less than $5, and the cocktails are a whopping $5.50! If I can get a cocktail and 3 rolls for under $25, that's a steal and definitely worth giving a try. Maybe it's just moving from Philly to the Lehigh Valley, but you can't beat this price for sushi. Quality and at a great price tag. Only complaint? I'm not big into tempura - also allergic to gluten, so that's a big part of it - and almost all of their specialty rolls have some sort of tempura something involved. Not the end of the world, it's a preference thing, and their sizable regular rolls make up for it, but something to note. Will definitely be back. read more

This place is honestly gross! The food and service are terrible! We ended up getting sick after eating there.

We stopped tonight to have dinner after not being there for 2 years, must have changed hands, I can't believe they are open, can't believe the board of health has not closed this place down. Very dirty and the cook for the hibachi actually laid the aluminum pan from the vegetables on top of everyone's steak on the cart. My girlfriend and myself ordered filet as our second choice. We were the only ones who ordered filet's and cook gave our filet's to the other guests at the table, we received regular steak. I ordered a Bacardi and Diet Coke and the bill I received was for 151 Bacardi 12 dollars plus 50 cents for the Diet Coke. Unbelievable. It's a shame, use to be a decent place. 90.00 bill for 2 and the food was mediocre at best. Never will return. read more

Been to many hibachi's in the past and this one is at the low low end. Service is terrible, and they seriously rush you out. Showmanship is okay but they drench the food more than usual for hibachi. I used to come here years ago for my birthday. It was amazing every time. Today (thursday evening) I went with my husband and ordered sushi (Sushi for 2) consisting of 3 pieces of red snapper sashimi, 3 pieces of salmon sashimi, 3 pieces white fish (unsure of type), a tuna roll, and a variety of nigiri sushi. The sushi looked, smelled and tasted old. It was slimy, fishy and some pieces were completely dry on the surface as well. It was sad. We did not finish. I told my server the sushi was not good. She got the check with no further investigation. I did not ask for management. I am writing this review on the toilet. I'm sure you can imagine the outcome of this all.
