We were really disappointed with our experience at A1 Steakhouse. Right when we walked in, there was a bad smell--probably from the carpets--and take-out containers were just sitting out in the dining area, making it feel dirty and disorganized. We all had the lunch menu open and were ordering from it. My partner asked for the hibachi lunch special, but we were charged the dinner price instead. He never requested the dinner version, and no one clarified. It was lunchtime--why would we expect anything else? When we brought it up, the server argued and blamed him for not being specific. She eventually called over the manager, who offered a weak excuse and no real apology. It was clear that no one wanted to take ownership of the mistake. As for the food--it didn't help the situation. The sushi rice was dry and flavorless, definitely not properly seasoned. The miso soup tasted like plain hot water. Our daughter's appetizer came out 15 minutes late. We still paid, but told them directly they need to work on customer service, training, and cleanliness. Definitely wouldn't recommend--this place is not worth your time or money. The staff tends to rush you when you come in. The food is good, however, I only come here when I'm in the area.

Ordered take out for NYE. Can't speak for the ambiance of the restaurant as we just did take out but the sushi/sashimi I ordered for take out was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. All the food we ordered was packaged extremely well. Ordered hibachi to go as well, which was exactly as you would expect.

I absolutely love A1! This is my monthly treat well until I moved out of state but when I visit everyone knows we are going to A1!

My hibachi experience here was fun and entertaining. We shared a hibachi table with another group for a total of 6. (Sharing hibachi tables is to be expected unless you have a large party.) The food was decent. I ordered the salmon and steak combination which came with soup, salad, my choice of fried rice, vegetables, and two shrimps. My only grumble is they drenched everything. The salad was swimming in dressing, and the hibachi-cooked food, especially the rice was soaked in soy sauce. If you're not in the mood for hibachi, they also have regular seating in a separate area.

Always delicious! Sushi is great, teriyaki bento boxes are always a go to for me. Staff is always friendly and hibachi always seems busy.

Legit the best hibachi restaurant you'll ever eat at, chefs know how to cook your food right, and put on a show at the same time!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great atmosphere. I was surprised by how few tables there were though. The bar was more crowded than the dining room, which felt a little odd for 7pm prime dinner time. Service was excellent across the board. The host, our server, the manager, and the food runner were all friendly and attentive. The menu is perfect for sharing plates. The hamachi jalapeño with ponzu was fantastic, and one of the best bites of the night was the blue crab temaki taco. The food was pretty great overall, but at this price point I expected everything to be elevated just a bit more. If prices were about 20% lower, I think they'd really hit the mark. Honestly, that might be why the dining room wasn't full at 7pm on a Thursday. People want great service, a nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Here you get two out of three.

I was looking for a place to grab dinner before going to the movies, and since I hadn't had sushi in a while, I decided to give Sumo a try. Kicked things off with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly fried. It's a familiar favorite, served with a sweet chili sauce that complements it nicely. Next up were the Kani salad and seafood miso soup. While the soup was loaded with seafood, both dishes were fairly average and a bit bland. For the main event, sushi! I tried the Sumo Roll, with spicy crunchy salmon and avocado inside, topped with seared salmon, white tuna, crispy rice ball, and tobiko with the chef's special sauce. I also had the Cracked Lobster Roll, filled with spicy shrimp and lobster, sweet potato tempura, and topped with Kani salad and a Japanese cracker with garlic mango sauce. Both were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Overall, everything was enjoyable. I'd rank Sumo somewhere in the middle among the sushi spots I've tried.

I started with the wonton soup and cold sesame noodles, pretty basic choices, but I enjoyed it! But this place was horrible! The food tasted really bad. I tried general tso's chicken which looked or tasted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like general tso's chicken. The shrimp lo mein was overcooked and tasted horrible. Their customer service was 50-50. Restaurant was very poorly lit, dark and shabby. Looked quite dirty because there was all sorts of junk that they ought to store in the back right at the front of the restaurant where people are supposed to sit. There were kids lying on the booths (where customers are supposed to sit) and playing on their iPad. The food was delivered to our car because we didn't want to sit in the dark and dirty interior. But the food was delivered without silverware or napkins. When I went back inside to ask, I was given 3 very small napkins for the 3 of us.
