It was really important to me that the bees were not harmed, and that they would be moved to another location where they could keep the colony together to continue making their hive. They can quote by just looking at the photos we sent and they were able to come the next day even it's Sunday. The hives are hidden inside the wall of the front yard so it had to be cut open. They came out the day after our request and the bees were moved to a new home in two. We chose AA-Beekeeper because of their careful preservation of the bees and their hive. Discovered bees flying in and out of a hole in a retaining wall. Called AA and they came out the first time to inspect, the second time to install a one-way device to get the bees out and keep them out, and then someone to trap the bees (see photo) and take them off to an avocado orchard. Despite rain and high winds, they stuck to the timetable and got 99+% of the bees out and on their way. AA Beekeeping came by to give us a quote on removing and relocating a hive from our tree. I wish I had better understood the costs before the technician came out so I did not wast anyone's time. Perhaps giving a generalized idea or average cost could be helpful when clients first call in. Otherwise, the office staff were extremely helpful. The technician was later than anticipated but very friendly and knowledgeable. Cost- one thing that surprised be was just how expensive the bee removal would be. The safety of the bees were our first priority but $550-800 for removal was staggering due, in part, to my ignorance. AA-Beekeeping quoted us $600 for our removal, which based on what I learned was very fair. We reached out to AA-Beekeeper when we noticed a swarm near our house, they came out same day and actually removed a fairly large hive! What I love about this company is there great communication, professionalism and the fact they relocate the bees. Supposedly when removing a hive, some straggler bees can be left behind for a bit and after a few weeks per my request, AA came back again to remove any remaining bees. Theses guys were great. I really didn't know I had a bee problem until about a week ago. Hornet spray doesn't work. The bees had already built a huge nest. The bee guy's came out the same day that I called. The original price they quoted 150 which I thought was more than fair. By the time they got there and saw what the bees had done they said the only way they could get them out was to open the wall. So the price went up to 450. After complaining about the price I offered them 350 and they said OK. They knew just how far up the wall they need to go to get to the hive. The hive filled up about a foot from the bottom of a white trash bag. They left about an hour ago. If I add an update you'll know the bees are back. Money well spent. read more

These guys are a rip-off! Do Not Use. They charged $400 for bee removal and said the honey-comb had to be removed as well for an additional $1000 or the bees would come back. Bees came back. Paid the $1000 and then they called and said they need an additional $1200 to do another section. I said I needed it in writing and exactly what they did and were going to do. Heard back nothing. Called another company and they said these people did nothing - except exterminate the original colony - and not even all of that. They took care of the problem at a fraction of the cost. read more

Al was a total professional with heart from the very beginning. He answered all of my questions and thoroughly explained everything I wanted to know. He made me and my family feel like our satisfaction was his number one priority. A technician by the name of Sergio arrived almost immediately. Sergio was extremely courteous, cordial, very kind and unbelievably professional. It was crystal clear that he always had our best interest in mind. This is in regards to the Craig B. review. I was the property manager, Craig B. is the owner of the property. Bee Friendly was totally unprofessional. First Max showed up to take care of the problem and afterwards could never be found again. Then a guy named Voss took over and just kept wanting to charge more and more even though bees kept swarming all over and they were not being dealt with. The company that finally resolved the problem said no hive removal was done and really didn't need to be done. (And they were a fraction of the cost!) I am still waiting for an invoice from Bee Friendly which I requested many times. I have put a stop payment on the credit card charges because they didn't do what they said they were going to do. Great idea, yes I will also file complaint with the BBB. Bottom line is they charged $400, then $990 and said they need another $990 to resolve the bees. Finally - the other company charged $250 and came back the next day and the problem is solved. What a difference in money and customer service. read more
