My wife and I have been living in our apartment for 8 years. We don't have pets, we keep our place…read morereally clean and we have a 3 week old newborn baby. My wife started getting bites and she said these have to be fleas. I told her," there's no fleas because they're biting you and not biting me." So she started doing some investigating on our floor and DID find live fleas. I felt so bad because I didn't think there were any. So that night we killed maybe 4 or 5. The next morning I went outside to exercise and as I was resting I looked down and found maybe 9-10 fleas biting my leg. Since I was sweating a lot they were all on me from the heat from my body. So that was it. I was really annoyed. We diatomaceous earthed, baking soda, set up soap water traps, bought a light trap with a sticky pad to catch fleas and slept in the bedroom that night. I contacted our landlord about our problem saying there were fleas inside our apartment and outside. He responded with," ill contact the management company". About 4 days in my patience was wearing very thin, 4 nights in our bedroom, constantly checking legs before we enter the bedroom with flashlights, newborn stuck in the room and constantly checking if there were fleas all the time, watching tv on a laptop, making milk outside in the kitchen and coming back to the bedroom , and no contact from the landlord. That's when I hit up Hilltop from the great reviews I knew they were the one. I called and the most friendliest voices, I believe her name was Esther. Sooooooo polite and understanding of our situation. Told her about our 3 week old and how much it sucks not to hear from landlord, it was such an inconvenience. She heard me out for like 10 minutes haha. She had a appointment real soon in 2 days and we were so happy. She was also saying they can do organic in the apartment since we have a baby and do traditional outside. Appointment day was here and when I met Moises he was super personable, friendly and cracked jokes haha. He saw all the diatomaceous earth in our apartment and cracked some jokes haha. He walked around the whole entire building and perimeter. I was very cautious and asked him so many questions because of the stuff they were gonna spray. He was really honest and told me what they were gonna use. Also, I asked what's better organic or traditional in the apartment. He was saying traditional is better since it kills them, and their eggs. So we opted for traditional outside and inside. I paid and he went to work as we left for 4.5 hours. We came home and there wasn't a strong smell big we did air it out. Almost, one week later! I've seen 1 flea outside and it was on me. I would most definitely recommend Hilltop and Moises. Honestly I wasn't expecting these types of quotes from vendors but it's something that has to be done. It's a relief knowing that rats have been eliminated from the home. That was worth the price. It was major work. The insulation in the attic was removed and new material was put in after they thoroughly cleansed the attic. They also covered/repaired all potential openings that lead inside the property. They will continue doing follow-ups for the next month or so (This was done yesterday by Francisco). Their guy found where the mouse was entering the house and he set traps and ultimately the tenants found it dead under the oven. It was mostly a good experience except for the melted rat glue I had to spend hours clenaing up. So, when my mom discovered termites flying iaround the livingroom, I called around for quotes. No oine would give me one over the phone. They all had to come out and do an inspections first. A few wanted to charge for just the inspection alone. So I called and hired Fenn's Termite department to send out inspectors. Juan showed up on time with his partner and they inspected the holes in the livingroom, exterior of the house and underneath in the crawl space. His guy suited up with a mask and did a long inspection and took photos to show me. The termites were building towers up to the wood floors and eating the wood. Juan suggested they do a subterranean treatment by spraying into the soil and the wood to get rid of all termites and ants and anything elses. He also suggested we tent the whole house but due to my parent's health issues, that wasn't going to be possible. We went with the spraying onlly. About a week and a half later, Fidel and Elijah showed uip in their truck on time. They even called ahead. They drilled a few holes in the livignroom floor, sprayed and sealed it. Then they got to work suiting uip and getting into the crawl space to spray. They spend a coutple of hours and assured me that all the termites and ants wouildn't be a problem anymore. There was a 1 year warranty and Fidel told me if for any reason we did see insects within the 1 year period, I could call them and they'd come out and take care of it.
