It's a rare spot that I give 5 stars. But this place deserves all of them. They care about the food they prepare. Where it comes from, who grows it, and how it's prepared. Star by looking at the pictures of their food, which speaks volumes. Every time we ate here (and we did the drive up from Lahaina a lot once we found it), it came out the same, photo worthy. And the flavors matched the beauty. Passion fruit açaí bowls dripping with passion fruit, bananas, and strawberries, with edible flowers as garnish. Just delicious, bursting with sweet and sour, crunchy and smooth. A rockin açaí bowl. The naked summer roll with peanut sauce was my wife's go to, just amazing. Unfortunately there was no attempt whatsoever (no mask around neck) just blatant disregard for customers. This is how I imagine a vegan restaurant to be. The environment is beautiful with bob Marley playing in the background, comfy chairs and somewhat dim light, and comforting, fragrant incense lit. Some people make veganism out to be something bad but it's really beautiful and I think this place encapsulates this idea. I was a little nervous to place my order but Kevin (I think) was super nice and made me feel welcome. I was skeptical how the pitaya bowl would be considering other restaurants I tried around here but it was delicious and refreshing. I also saw the other workers behind the scene tasting the smoothies (in their own cup ofc) to make sure it was right and it's just nice knowing they actually try their own food to make sure they're serving the best to their customers. A little pricy but it might be a little hard on them right now so that might explain it. Also the green monster pitaya bowl was delicious but one constructive criticism for the workers is to make it a bit thicker so it resembles an acai bowl more than a smoothie bowl. Thank you! i was super excited after seeing positive yelp reviews, however they didn't live up to my expectations. The bowl itself, while beautiful, tasted unsweet and tart, almost like unsweetened greek yogurt. The lady taking orders, who I assume is the owner, was wearing a mask but it was way too loose and didn't even cover her mouth. There is no space for social distancing and the owner, Maria, was unmasked less than 2 ft away talking to me about how busy it has been, while I'm trying to pay and quickly get out. Aa roots was so good that we wanted to go back there again but they were closed on Wednesday. It was so good and fresh and flavorful. We ordered the tofu scramble and curry bowl. So yummy and filling. The prices were reasonable too compared to Moku roots and the portions were bigger! Also their chocolate chip cookie was really good worth the $8 because it was pretty big.
