I tried so hard to clearly communicate my needs to this company but, when moving day came, the two men who showed up just wanted to do the bare minimum and actually charged me a fee for staying until 4:30, even though I had already asked Sound to charge me for the whole day. I am very frustrated with moving companies these days because it just seems like the movers get angry and inpatient even when you pay them a fair price. They were on time. We had to wait for access to my storage area, they were patient. We warned them that we live in a heavily wooded area, off a country roads, with tight turns into the driveway and, with smiles, they were game. They drove a HUGE (30ft, 36ft?) truck right to the doors. They were careful, fast, and nice. Keep in mind, that in the 12 years we have never had one single late payment, or anything happen. But, instead of phoning us, our phone numbers didn't change, she just locked us out. When I spoke to her the following workday, she refused to apologize, and just told us to go somewhere else. I really think that if you are in customer service, you should actually consider customer service to be something important. So best of luck to those of you who choose to go here. I then placed a call to schedule the delivery which was answered by a LIVE person who had just seen my online request. He said "it sounds like you need the container ASAP so if you would like two of them delivered this afternoon we can do that and deliver the other two the following day". This place is a nightmare. I loaned my friend some money to rent a unit -- put it on my credit…read morecard. We were both very clear that I was only paying for the first month and that my card number was not to be kept on file. They did it anyway and automatically charged my card the next month. Since then it's been one thing after another for my friend -- setting up autopay without permission, changing payment dates, processing payments weeks ahead of the due date without permission, then refusing to refund the money. This is a big deal when you're on a tight budget. They can screw up payments and make all the mistakes they want and you just have to deal with it, but don't you dare be late with your payment or they will lock you out. And make sure you put your lock on exactly the way they say, with the keyhole facing the right direction, or they will charge you fines. Also prepare to get locked inside the facility when the gate malfunctions -- don't worry, the cops will come eventually and let you out. The icing on the cake -- there are rodents in the units that will chew holes in your stuff and defecate and urinate on everything. I get that storage is hard to come by in this area but do whatever you can to avoid this unscrupulous business. I've had units at several places over the years and never seen anything like this -- I would sell my stuff before I'd store it here.

When I contacted him to let him know that the truck he rented me had non-operational headlights, he told me that I had "brought it on myself" & that it was not his responsibility to make sure that the headlights were functioning properly & told me to call Roadside Assistance. When I contacted Budget, after making us wait for more than an hour, they first tried to send us many miles backwards, then referred me to a repair shop more than 2 day's drive away. They would not listen to where we actually were & were incredibly rude & unhelpful. Because of the headlight issue, I was unable to drive at night & my trip took days longer than expected. Additionally, even knowing that I would be hauling a heavy car trailer & loaded truck over steep mountain passes, Monte neglected to mention the truck's tow/haul mode feature, seriously compromising my & my family's safety. Fortunately, after a terrifying experience on Deadman's Pass, a nice truck driver informed me of the function, making the rest of the trip much safer. Why this function is not mentioned in Budget's towing information brochure is beyond me, it makes a huge difference both in the handling of the truck & with fuel economy. The entire experience was incredibly stressful & disappointing. I strongly recommend going with Penske or U-Haul instead.
