A hidden gem where there are no long lines and staffing issues. Came by to check on my membership and insurance policy and the insurance agent was on the phone. Instead, Ms. Brenda, the front desk receptionist, got online and revised the membership payment plan and confirmed receipt of my insurance payment. Khanh Nguyen is very rude and not helpful. Any questions I had was replied with " I don't know or I can't help you." I had to ask multiple times just to get a answer and if she did give me an answer he follows with "everyone knows that". This whole thing could've been avoided if she would just look my policy up but instead rather give attitude and was in a rush to not deal with me. The staff is very nice but once I encountered her she was rude and off putting right off the bat. DO NOT GO TO THIS AGENT. She is very rude and will make rude side comments towards you. Also she kept saying " you don't like it switch insurance. " like why talk to someone like that? Especially if I was nothing but nice towards here. Richard is a very ambitious and prestigious insurance agent as he works diligently, assiduously, and industriously for AAA customers such as myself. As a lifelong AAA member, I've always had to go to AAA offices either in Oakland or San Francisco for services. What a surprise to get a post card in the mail that AAA was opening an Alameda office at Alameda Landing on Jan. 30th. With DMV registrations renewals and questions regarding my policies, we visited the new AAA office today. It's located on the Mariner Square Loop side of the shopping center and easily parked right in front. The office is large, modern and spacious. There's complementary coffee and Wi-Fi too! Checking in with the receptionist, she assigned us the next available insurance agent before we took care of our DMV registrations since there were two customers at the DMV window. Eric Le came and walked us to his office. He answered our questions regarding our policy deductibles and how it would affect the insurance premiums. Got an earthquake quote as well. Eric was very friendly and straightforward in answering our questions and was appreciative with his honest opinions. We were now ready to have our DMV registrations processed and Eric checked us in. Clarisse came and walked us to her station and processed our two DMV registration renewals. After processing our last registration, she even walked out from behind her station to personally hand it to us and to thank us for coming in. What a nice pleasant experience. I needed to make some changes to my vehicle title I went on saturday and there is a sign that indicates only 3 people allowed in office.I couldn't see anyone and waited patiently in line. Soon more people came and I realized I could see a woman inside she wasn't making any eye contact. So I opened the door and poked my head inside she came over was very helpful took my phone number down and put me on a wait list. This only took about 15 minutes and cost approximately 15 $. The staff there are so welcoming and helpful, even when we bungled filling out one form and had to start over--they were beyond patient with us. I was having trouble on the CA DMV website to pay my car registration fees so came to this AAA office. The employee wasn't very knowledgeable on meaning of the different line items, but I had a very short wait and quick processing. They give you the Registration Stickers for your license plate on the spot so there's no waiting for DMV to mail it to you, which I'm adding a star for :) read more

Somehow the following review had gone missing from the Alameda branch: One of the best AAA offices around! I came in on a Saturday to get an insurance quote just at the beginning of when people were concerned about the COVID-19 and Richard Roque had me out of the building in half an hour after checking in without an appointment, the staff was very friendly amongst other concerns. Richard was very professional, I told him I was going to get another quote to compare against and he informed me why AAA differed from the competition and what to look for when comparing between policies. Richard pings me mid-week after not being able to reach back out to him earlier in the week when promised. Once I decided to go with AAA for my insurance, Richard was able to make adjustments to my quote/policy while working remotely under my tight deadline, my issue on timing not his. Using different methods of communication, these are different times, he effectively accomplished what I needed to get done while I had other concerns than insurance on my mind. Additional follow up, Richard had been very response to followup and additional emails. read more

It's really upsetting to pay to be a member and get such horrible customer service. It's not that hard at least act like you like your job. As a current disgruntled customer that's been with AAA for over 10 years. I was very happy to know a local office opened in Alameda but yet the manager of that office Mary is never there when I needed assistance. My monthly payment is usually $300 something per month but the last two months I've been charged $582. I have called AAA associate to help me check on my policy in re to why the sudden uptick. Instead of getting an answer, I call got a call back and said she couldn't help me check because she got in trouble looking in to my policy. As an professional, should they at less call me and double check with me to see if I have asked the associate to help me check instead of getting someone in trouble? I have yet to get a answer back from AAA. I would definitely like to speak with someone from AAA may it be someone from corporate who can explain to me the reason why my monthly charges is out of the norm. read more

I have been to this branch on 3 separate occasions each time I left with some level of frustration. Each time I've experience some sort of attitude from the staff. The lady who checks you in as soon as you walk in is not warm or welcoming she does answer any questions you have but with very short responses almost seeming uninterested in assisting you. In addition both service agents I have dealt with gave me attitude and were not clear in their communication. You would think for being a member you would be treated with some decency but don't expect that if you come here. Aside from the shorter wait I've had better experiences going to the DMV. Company said they transferred my ownership to a family member, then after an accident takes place, I get a lien saying I'm the registered owner. Tried to get assistance from a so called manager at this location named Damita. She lacked customer service and was useless. She told me to go to any DMV location and that should couldn't help. My car registration was due in a few months, however, I wanted to check out this AAA as it is close to my job. The first few times I went the "system" for the DMV was down. They offered to put me on a list so I can get called back once services resumed. They were awesome! When i arrived i was in and out within 20 min max! The wonderful woman that helped me was so quick and efficient and lovely to talk to as well. All the staff was warm and welcoming and very focused on customer service!
