They cleaned the exterior air conditioning unit. They cleaned the dust buildup inside the blower fan in the heating unit. They tested the unit to make sure everything is working. This review is for the installation of work completed in September 2024. AAA installed a natural gas heating system with all new duct work and an air conditioning system system in a 1930 brick home in West Seattle. The planning and organization of AAA with the abatement company who removed the old heating system and ductwork was excellent. The abatement company arrived on Monday and removed the old system so that AAA could begin installing the new system on Wednesday. By Saturday we had a new heating and air conditioning system with all new duct work up and running. The only problem we had was that the thermostat was on a wall needed to be moved so that an accurate reading of the house temperature could be obtained. When AAA was informed of this they came out to our house in a timely fashion and relocated the thermostat which solved the problem of uneven heating in the house. The new furnace during the past winter was using about 40% less energy to heat the entire home according to our monthly statement by PSE. Now that we are having temperatures in the 90's this week in Seattle the air conditioning system is working great. The house never had an air conditioning system in the past. Though AAA did not submit the lowest bid for our heating and air conditioning system, we are very glad to have hired this company. The coordination, communication and professionalism of the individuals who did the work was exceptional, and the speed at which they resolved the thermostat problem was commendable. Having used the heating system this past winter and the air conditioning this summer, allows me the opportunity to give an honest review several months after these systems have been installed and running. Several individuals from AAA including the supervisor, office staff and the workers who installed the systems were great. We would like to give special recognition to Bob and Izzy who who were among those who did an exceptional job on the installation. After being stood up by another company, I called AAA last minute to set up an appointment and they were able to fit me into the schedule the very next day. (They also have convenient evening appointments from 5-7pm available!) The woman who answered the phone was very professional and friendly. So far, so good! The next day, we got a text with a picture of our technician when he was on his way. This is a well-thought touch! Our technician was very friendly, clean cut, and professional. He was able to quickly diagnose why our A/C wasn't working and even found why our furnace hadn't been working at full capacity over the winter, even though we hadn't mentioned anything to him. The entire visit lasted less than 45 minutes and he was able to get our system up and running at a very reasonable price. I was super impressed with AAA's operation from beginning to end! I'm really impressed with AAA H&AC. Every time I call either the office or the sales person who was in charge of my account, I always get an answer. Not only that, before they send someone out to your place, they send the picture and background story of the employee to your cell phone. Their communication skills are on a whole other level. We decided to get a heat pump installed with them. The installation took the whole day but only the one day. The install workers worked really hard to keep our house nice and cool. Right after the install, they had an inspector from their company come out to see if everything is working properly. He also gave us a crash course of using the new panel device properly. We called and explained what the problem was with our Mitsubishi air conditioner mini-split system and made it very clear that we needed the discharge line snaked. The woman on the phone was very friendly and said that they could do that no problem. When the technician arrived, I told him what the issue was and he immediately stated, "Yeah, we don't snake lines. You'll want to contact a plumber for that." He said he was only going to charge us $99 for a "diagnostic." He took the cover off and said, "Yeah, I'm not going to charge you anything. We usually work on a different brand of these." He hurried to put the cover on and left. Everyone was friendly, but I got the impression that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I couldn't tell if the woman over the phone was mistaken or if the technician was new and inexperienced? Either way, Mitsubishi is a very common brand for these kinds of air conditioners and I got the impression that they do not work on them. It would've been nice to know in the very beginning that they don't do any kind of snaking in the discharge line, which is what we needed. In response to Sharissa: I appreciate you calling me to discuss the situation. I've worked in customer service my entire life and I have a few tips on how to engage unhappy customers when calling them. 1. Start out by apologizing for whatever went wrong. Your introduction over the phone did not include an apology and felt cold and disengaged. 2. Acknowledge what went wrong and update the customer on how you're changing your process. Your explanation kept going back to the home builder, which felt like you were trying to deflect. The problem is not with how the home was built. The problem was confusion and miscommunication on your end. 3. Try and figure out how you could do better next time. The technician, while very nice, didn't even try to blow out the line. He didn't do anything. He was here for maybe five minutes. I've already scheduled with a different company who said they encounter this situation often and weren't sure why the technician didn't just try blowing out the line with compressed air. The technician also made the comment that "we usually work on a different brand of unit." That gave me the impression that Mitsubishi is not a brand that your company feels confident working on. read more

We filled out the online contact form and was contacted the next morning to schedule a same day appointment. Technician Ron arrived within the scheduled time window. Ron was awesome! He showed me all the diagnostics that indicated a failed motor. He was able to replace the motor (so we would have heat today). He also set it up so the cost could be covered in 3 monthly payments. AAA was called to do a maintenance on my electric furnace as part of a requirement for me purchasing my home. They came on Aug. 21st. According to them, they did the maintenance and replaced a 5 micro-farad capacitor. The sale closed on Sept. 12th. Last Sunday, my family and I woke up cold and decided to turn the furnace on. It did not work. This was the first time since Aug. 21st that the furnace has been turned on. I contacted AAA and asked that they come out and get my furnace working. The person I spoke with told me that they would charge $99 to diagnose my furnace. I explained that they were literally the last people to touch the furnace and that it hadn't been used. She refused to send someone out to look at my furnace without me agreeing to pay. Anyway, we went back and forth and voices grew louder and angrier. She told me that I should contact the seller and have them look into it because that's who AAA did business with, not me. She also refused to tell me what the results were of the maintenance due to "liability issues". When I asked her exactly what they did when they charged over $300 to look at my furnace and replace the capacitor, she told me that they did a regular maintenance in order to prolong the life of the system. Prolong the life????? It doesn't work!! It worked when I had the home inspected prior to them doing their maintenance!!! It only stopped working after AAA put their hands on it!!! I had my real estate agent contact the seller's agent. I was informed that the seller contacted AAA and also got into an argument with the same person. Here's the kicker, I actually work in the HVAC industry. SO, after all this, I decided to open the cover of the furnace and take a look. Turns out, they replaced my 5 micro-farad capacitor with a 3 micro-farad capacitor!!! What kind of company purposely sabotages a furnace????? Also, what kind of company doesn't stand behind their work??? This will quite possibly turn into a lawsuit. Too bad AAA couldn't stand behind their work, or even do the correct work. How dare you sabotage a furnace for someone who is just trying to heat their family????? read more

Fist impression: I called on Monday. The person who answered my call, Heidi, was super friendly and helpful. This was not an emergency so my appointment was scheduled for Wednesday. Then I realized I had a conflict at the time set, so I called back and she was both understanding and accommodating. Prior to my appointment, the technician, Tyler, sent a text with his picture and a short bio. The issue turned out to be a simple fix, so he offered to do a tune up for a reasonable price. Not a fan. Paid $17,500 for a high efficiency furnace and air conditioning. The system was installed 15 days ago and still waiting to get the damage done after their 3rd trip out to my house to get the thermostat that I had ordered installed correctly. I also am trying to get a rebate from PSE and when I asked for a breakdown from the AAA office, I was told they would email it right over. 2 hours later same thing and when I asked to talk with the salesman (that was in the background) I was sent to voicemail. I paid top dollar to get the best service and so far I feel that they have left me wanting and feel that I greatly over paid. I had also explained and showed the salesman one of the quotes that I had from one of their competitors that was $7,500 less that their installation. He said he would give me a line by line break down showing me the break down. That was a week ago. Still no breakdown. I contacted AAA to service a broken furnace. Because the temperature is 20 degrees and it's the only source of heat, it's quite urgent to fix. I asked that they guarantee they would be able to come before the end of the day when scheduling the appointment which they did. They didn't call or show up or provide an ETA several hours into the appointment window so I called to confirm the tech was going to make it. They reconfirmed the tech would make it. They didn't show up and again didn't call. I called at the end of the appointment window to confirm whether they would make it and they said they would need to reschedule. I told them that they had guaranteed they would come by end of day when I scheduled and I have no other heat in 20 degrees weather and asked that they honor that commitment and they would not. I'm frustrated that I waited for them until the end of the day and they never even had the decency to reach out and tell me they weren't going to make it when I could have contacted another company who could have showed up, if I had known they weren't going to make it earlier. This was a huge trust buster and I would recommend against this company if you expect them to value your time or have any urgency to your repair. read more

had been using AAA heating and cooling since we bought our house five years ago. I had become part of their membership program and had them out every 6 months to check on the furnace and heat pump. At least two technicians had told me my heat pump was about 20 years old and are expected to have a 15 year service life. This was after a couple times I had them fix the problems that were found. After my last appointment today when I was told again my system was 20 years old and had $1,200 of needed repair and another $1,200 that would likely happen soon. Bad on me to not confirm information until today and assume the people I was paying had at least a little of my interest at heart. I checked there serial number as I contemplated getting a new system and found my pump is only 8 years old. So the technicians misinformed and unknowledgeable at best or liars and trying to ring the most money out of me. So disappointed at what I thought was a standup, local company. read more

I didn't get the chance to use their services. I told them I had a heat pump which had leaked in the past, and I wanted it checked on before winter; specifically, I needed the freon level checked. After a lengthy text exchange (I had to wait 10-15 minutes for each response) they said, "we would be focusing on heating during this tune-up and we would not be checking any freon levels." I decided not to do business with an HVAC company that doesn't know that a heat pump runs on freon. EDIT I got a really nice friendly call from their office manager apologizing for the mistake and offering to send someone who could check the freon. Apparently the staff member who texted with me is new. I had already made an appointment elsewhere, but I would have no hesitation using AAA in the future. This is my second annual tuneup using AAA. Today I received a text letting me know who was coming and a picture of the technician, Dolly. Dolly arrived on time and was very professional. She did the full furnace inspection and was very efficient. She even made time to say "Hi" to our dog. Dolly was awesome! My only negative is related to my last inspection/tune up. The technician offered to add a furnace door at no cost. When I called to schedule this appointment and remind them that I needed the door, the office staff told me it would be $280 for the small metal door, which was not what I was told on the last visit. read more

When I use Yelp reviews to select an unfamiliar business, I have a set process: first I look for the number of stars a business has, then the number of reviews, and then I read their lowest ratings. The 4+ business have already demonstrated they know how to please their customers, I don't really care about the details; what I want to know is how they've failed and how they've handled that failure. That is how I select business for big ticket services like plumbing, HVAC, renovations, mechanics, etc. By my own process of selection, this is a an incredibly relevant review because very little with our furnace upgrade and heat pump install has gone as planned. AAA has been out....I don't even know, I've lost count. Six times? Ten? There have been a series of unfortunate events and complications with our system, but I actually couldn't be more pleased with how they've dealt with their failures. From the initial contact with Matthew to each technician who's come out (and there's definitely been about a dozen of them) to the women in the office, dealing with the mistakes and additional visits has been great. Every one has been professional, courteous, and apologetic and has worked efficiently to finish up the job. Mackenzie, Jaysha, Jennifer, and the rest of the office staff are always charming to speak with as well as helpful, knowledgeable, and effective. Matthew, who initially bid the job, has been easy to contact and has dealt with the myriad difficulties of our upgrade with grace and tact. He was lovely to deal with from the beginning: warm, personable, knowledgeable, and absolutely not a pushy salesman. I won't bore you with the list of weird stuff that's gone wrong; it's all small things that just kept occurring. (But I will if you're really burning for deets). I don't understand /why/ all these glitches happened, but I don't think it's indicative of a low quality of workmanship, knowledge, or professionalism. Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes the bar eats you. We were just like a lemon, our whole job just inexplicably wonky. Stuff happens. ~shrug~ The entire staff at AAA has dealt with the glitches flawlessly. Often the techs realized there was a problem before we could, and immediately began solving the issues. I wish there hadn't been issues, but I happily give AAA Heating four stars for being absolutely on top of remedying them as they popped up. If you're looking for a trustworthy, reliable, professional company that excels at customer service and care, choose AAA Heating. I think you'll be quite happy with your decision. I'm very pleased with their service. After my furnace broke in the middle of winter, I just wanted someone to come out quickly. Not only was I able to get a same-day appointment, but the trip/diagnostic fee was half the cost of another company that couldn't see me until two days later. My furnace needed some parts and they came in quickly and scheduling was easy. I was back up and running within a couple of days. The technician gave me some tips to keep the house warm while we waited. She also explained everything and worked quickly. I really loved the service this company did for me! They have scheduled a first site survey just couple of days after my call, they have chatted with me on all the unclear questions before that, and the company representative explained me all really great during the visit itself. He had chosen the optimal solution, helped to apply for the financing, and was ready to schedule the work already in a week from that! The work itself for 5 indoor and 1 outdoor unit took just 2 days, and the quality and speed was really exceptional! The most impressive thing was that the cable box, which was attached to the house and was going from internal HVAC unit to the external one was exactly matching my home wall color!!!!
