Gave me a quote for to move a 500 lb ICU bed from my garage to the inside of my house (less than 20 ft). Travis, the salesman, provided me with a written quote and the one item special pricing of $295. First, they did not arrive at the scheduled time, then arrived later with only 2 guys! As a result, I had to reschedule for the next day to allow them to get additional movers only to find out they want to charge me another $100 because Travis provided information that was inaccurate, or he just flat out lied. After speaking to the Sales Manger, who bluntly stated to me, "Take it or leave it!" I had no choice but to end all dealings and look elsewhere. Customer service is HORRIBLY RUDE! This was the most abysmal moving experience EVER. These people should not be in business - they are not professionals. They do not know how to pack very basic items. Most items they transported were damaged. They did not follow basic instructions on what to pack and it took several days to get back items NOT meant for transport. The whole time, the communications were laughable. When I called to check on the status of my shipment, they didn't even have a log of the pickup. Said they would call back. Never did. When the items they packed were received, there was major damage across all items. They do not know how to pack, transport, anything really. Please be SUPER WEARY of this company and do not use them. I was quoted around a little over $700 to move my studio apartment less than a mile away. Noah, the sales representative, confirmed over the phone that it would take no more than 4 hours from start to finish, but likely less and thus be cheaper. He said I would be looking at more like $400 total for the move. My entire studio apartment was packed up in roughly 15 boxes and the only larger furniture I had was a 3-seater couch and a full-size bed. After showing up an hour and a half late, it took the movers over 4 hours to load my stuff into their truck which caused me to miss my elevator reservation at my new apartment and forced me to wait until I was able to book a new freight elevator timeframe, which proved difficult as it was booked up through the weekend. I did not have any of my belongings and therefore had to buy essentials, including an air mattress, clothes that were not the ones I was wearing, hygiene products, etc, which was an additional roughly $200. AAA also charged me over $200 per night to keep my items. The whole move, for my 500 sq ft studio to my new apartment less than a mile away (7 minute drive), took over 6 hours of active work by the movers and I was ultimately charged double what my "max quote" was. Noah won't answer my emails asking for a partial refund due to their tardiness and far longer time moving than what I was promised. The cheap price seemed too good to be true, and it was. My husband and I went with AAA movers at the recommendation of a co-worker who used them and loved them. Unfortunately, we did not have nearly as good an experience. The day they moved our items out of the house they had one guy show up who wasn't supposed to be there, and one who was deathly allergic to cats, and was not told we had cats (which was covered at intake.) They helped to pack up our remaining items that we didn't get to, but they threw everything into wardrobe boxes, including already packed totes. What was initially supposed to be a 6 hour job ended up being 9 hours and they appeared to be intentionally dragging their feet. This cost us considerably more money than originally quoted. We had to store our items for about 6 weeks while we updated our new home. Once we were ready to move in, the move went much quicker. Unfortunately, even though they started loading up all our items from the warehouse at 8:24AM, they did not get to our property until after 11AM. we were given an 8-10AM arrival window. And it went downhill from there. They were not at all careful with boxes CLEARLY marked "FRAGILE" and one guy even slammed a box full of glass items down on the driveway. Once we started unpacking we found several items that had been damaged. We are still in the process of unpacking and continue to find damaged items. We also seem to be missing some items and boxes that we know we packed. The movers also caused damage to our brand-new flooring in a few places. We are being thorough and keeping track of what is missing or damaged and will be reporting that to customer care once all of our boxes are unpacked and the items accounted for. We are NOT happy with the service through AAA and do not recommend it if you want your time and your property to be treated with any kind of respect. I also don't recommend this company unless you want to be taken advantage of financially. I took the time to look at some of the negative reviews after this experience and have found that we are not the only ones with these issues. It's a shame. The only reason I'm giving this company more than one star is because the intake woman, Sammi, was friendly and professional. This same review was posted on Google two months ago by me. Initially customer care reached out and my husband sent a lengthy email documenting the items damaged and lost/missing. We stopped hearing from customer care nearly three weeks ago (9/11/23 was the last e-mail to let me know they were still reviewing) and they have not responded to my e-mails requesting an update. I got a call around 8 am ish saying they were 45 mins out. I waited.... I then get a call from another gentleman stating that they will be 1 1/2 late. I was annoyed but whatever. He said he would call to confirm eta because I was told they were en route. Thirty minutes later, no call or update. I called back and he said he was in a meeting so he didn't call back but he would call the movers and then call me back. No call, communication, or movers. I texted Tiffany and she stated that they had call-ins and they had a move prior to me. NOT MY PROBLEM! This was a shock to me because I was under the assumption that I would be the first call per our conversation. I would not recommend them, not reliable! They took a $50 deposit to confirm the services. I however decided a few days later, possibly within 24 hours, I determined that the price they quoted me was far too high for what I was willing to pay. As such, I canceled the move. No where in their paperwork does it state that these "deposits" which by nature are supposed to be refundable, are "non refundable". So as such I am now out $50.00 because they won't refund it claiming that they have to keep it to prevent people from canceling on them the day of. Mackenzie who I spoke to didn't even bother bringing up my file to see when I had canceled. She didn't bother to even look, she just prattled off their corporate speak. If I could give this place zero stars I would! This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced! My husband booked an appointment to move today and they gave us an appointment to move from 8am to 10am. On Friday we got a confirmation twice that someone will be here Sunday and no one came. We were told that someone will call us 30 mins before they arrive and no one did. By 11:30am no one came or called or anything. We sent an email and someone replied saying that no one was told to come by the manager. Then we waited some more and got a call from someone stating that no one was told to work that day and they're getting a hold of their manager and still no one told us anything. We live in a building where you have to reserve the elevator when you move and it's super complicated so they really wasted our time. A piece of furniture "wasn't" able to make it upstairs but the laziest of the group who pushed the point that it was impossible gladly said he would take the piece off our hands. We even had less to move and it took them from noon- midnight- unacceptable on all levels! Last movers took 4 hours start to finish! Why is AAA still in business. Do not use this moving service. They completed a move for me this week on Tuesday. They scratched the whole one side of my dining room table that has a unique design on it. The table was over $1200 and they are offering me $36. The broke the leg off of my sofa table and want to give me $18. They also smashed a lamp to beyond repair. They also smashed in the door of a solid wood microwave cart. The packers basically through things in boxes,  unlabeled or mislabeled. They threw 10 pounds of paper on top of the box but didn't protect the items inside. I would suggest you stay away from this company if you are looking for movers. read more

I went on a website for a moving quote. I got bombarded with over 30 different companies texting, calling and emailing. So i started replying stop and had to block phone calls because I got 43 calls for the first 3 days. Then, out of the blue, I got a text message from Jon at AAA Movers @ 314-366-5955. Included screenshot. Hopefully his boss sees this. This is the message word for word "Hi is the (my name)? This is Jon with AAA movers. The only phone numbers listed anywhere are for the Minnesota office, but be prepared to be talked down to as though it's somehow your fault for not accessing the "Chicago office" when you inevitably have issues with your move. When I called asking for a simple ETA after explicit email agreement that my start time would be 2PM, I was told "someone's on the way, 30 minutes!" for two hours until it was ultimately revealed that no one was coming. Management made sure to sarcastically note that "problems happen in moves" and offer zero solutions or remote apology for the substantial inconvenience. Take your business literally anywhere else. I am writing this review because I moved in July 2021 and was told that it was mandatory to purchase insurance with them. I felt comfortable using them as my things were insured just in case they were broken. They broke multiple pieces of my furniture and when I called to report this, I was never given a return call. I even have time-stamped pictures to support this but I could never even be given the dignity of filing a report. Located in Des Moines, Iowa. Would not recommend. The sales team is fantastic, but unfortunately we've had an awful experience. We have been trying to reach customer service for almost THREE WEEKS after our move. We were billed for 4 people even though only 3 showed up, we got a PS4 stolen (we were very organized and have unpacked everything), and our dresser was broken. We have left so many voicemails with customer support. The front desk and the sales manager say they can't help us and they keep sending us to customer support, which always goes to voicemail. At this point, I'm afraid we got scammed :( I hate leaving negative reviews online, but I'm not sure what else to do. A few other notes: - Paid $1,882 to move a bedroom house. Not a bad price - One man had asthma and was sitting out often trying to catch his breath (felt awful for him) - They ended up leaving a sweatshirt, an inhaler and moving equipment behind. We would like to return these items - We tipped them very well and even bought all three of them lunch - They stopped by the gas station for drinks on the way (this doesn't bother me, but thought I'd add it since I know some people don't like this) read more

I really loved working with this company and would gladly work with them again, from the quote to the moving everything was handled pretty nice, the truck arrived on time, and the crew was courteous and professional, they took care of our furniture, and accommodated to our needs, they were fast, but careful and helped put our stuff together, the only thing that happened and that's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that they offered me a bag to protect our mattress, I accepted it, but they didn't bring it so our mattress had to go unprotected, still they took good care of it and it wasn't ruined or badly stained. We have moved many times and AAA Movers is by far the WORST moving company we have ever used. Under quoted and attempted to overcharge prior to delivery. We had to fight to have them honor their contract with their threat of refusing to unload. They attempted to overcharge by nearly $4k. Understaffed for packing and loading causing an 8 hour delay from the promised departure time. Understaffed for unloading and it took over 12 hours to unload. Broke 3 items, one being a family heirloom, and we are still fighting to get reimbursed. STAY AWAY!! read more

WORST MOVERS EVER. Seriously DO NOT HIRE THEM. I haven't written a review in awhile on Yelp and these guys really inspired me to. My experience with this company started out great, Becky was lovely on the phone during my estimate and the day of my move confirming they were on their way. Long story short--3 guys showed up based on what I had in my 3rd floor walk up. They all took 15 min bathroom breaks in my toilet after arriving--I wish I was kidding. One guy proceeded to quit the job literally after saying "wow, you have a lot of stuff AND stairs" yea, that's why I paid to hire movers!!! So now, 2 guys. The driver had to call the office to explain that they were a guy down and that took 20 min while the other guy took literally one tiny thing down at a time--it was an absolute JOKE. An hour and a half later another guy shows up to help and they really worked then for an hour or so. Long story (kinda) short they then threw our couch we were junking off the 3rd floor balcony which in turn smashed my $800 bicycle that was in the driveway--which they denied once we noticed it at he new house. (Later the driver said it was probably the other 2 guys and he couldn't believe they were lying?!) WTF! The driver also trash talked his team the whole day saying how they really gave him the wrong guys for this job. WTF AGAIN?!? The whole thing took about 9 hours even though it was estimated at 5 and then after talking to Becky they took one hour off the total and charged us for 2 guys for 2 hours instead of 3. We still paid almost $1,000 and I am so pissed and so bummed about it. It was a terrible experience and what was supposed to be the most exciting time of our lives buying our first house and treating ourselves to movers turned into a day or HELL. They totally suck and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. Tons of shit for scratched up too and we had double the work when they left because we actually had to move stuff to where it belonged because we're just telling them to put it all in the living room to get them GONE. Do not trust! I try to not write negative reviews but when an experience is terrible it needs to be shared to help others. I had AAA pickup our belongs and hold them for 10 days before delivering to our new home. The pickup seemed to have gone pretty well. The delivery however was a totally different experience. They arrived timely but the great wrapping and banding that was done at the pickup did not arrive the same. So much damage. I accepted some but never to the amount nor the extent there was. I need to give some advice. Pay for the extra insurance DO NOT be ok with provided coverage. It pays pennies by the weight of the item for damage done. So not to drag this out further was we claimed the worst 3 items damaged. I need to explain beside our brand new set of counter stools being knicked up ($400) and the $3200 wood wall unit scratched all over, the top was not only scratched but had water damage - the worst part is that AAA employees knew it and tried to hide it physically then tried to cover damage with a marker and be deceitful. Had hound them for more than six weeks to find resolution. We had $3600 in new furniture that AAA Movers provided $169 for their damage. read more

My movers arrived 4 hours after the back end of the promised window, by which time elevators were no longer reserved and caused the move to take several hours longer than it would have if they arrived on time. They did not bring any of the packing materials which I had prepaid for. Customer service nor anyone else at the company replied to my voicemails or emails until I threatened public complaints. They eventually agreed to a partial reimbursement given their failures but made the process near impossible. Company representatives always replied immediately before the move and seemed very helpful. As soon as things started to go off the rails on moving day they simply screened all my efforts to contact them. Unethical and irresponsible. My husband arranged our move, and against my better judgment (I read the reviews), he chose this company. We paid a deposit, signed the contract and had everything set. I was very nervous, again, because of all the negative reviews. After everything had been signed and deposit paid, my husband received notice that we would be charged an additional $550 for overnight storage. When he brought this to their attention and mentioned it was not in the contract, he was told, basically, "ooops." On the upside, they did refund our deposit promptly. My gut instincts were correct and we were able to get another company booked who has stellar reviews. Remember, you get what you pay for. Cheaper isn't always better. read more

We recently hired AAA Movers for a very short move. We only wanted our larger furniture moved, so I knew we wouldn't need them for much more than 2 hours. Most other moving companies had a 3 hour minimum and high costs for "travel time". From my first contact of getting a quote to working with the 2 men who actually did the moving, I was highly impressed. The quote was accurate and VERY reasonable. My emails and questions were promptly responded to. The men who came to move assessed things first, then quickly and carefully began loading all our furniture. They took the time to wrap everything in shipping blankets, but they did it very efficiently so it didn't add too much time. I hope I won't be moving any time soon, but if I do, I'll call them again. read more

I typically was drawn to the standard United / Mayflower company because they give you that sense of trust. A coworker of mine to give AAA a shot at handling my recent relocation. I can't put into words how glad I am that I went with AAA. Their customer service was top shelf. My move consultant, was professional and courteous from start to finish. The crew was the best part. They called me 30 min prior to arriving at my house. They protected my walls floors and doors before they got started with my move. That was amazing! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! This business is a joke! They sent 3 workers, one of which did as little as possible! Cost us an extra 3 hours @ $75/hour on top of the original quote. The best part was the FIGHT THE WORKERS GOT IN ON MY DRIVEWAY!!! 3 COP CARS IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE WITH ONE ARREST!!!! The supervisors in both the dispatch and the sales department refused my calls. If you are looking for a moving company who will break all of your items, look no further! We were initially drawn to AAA because the quote and timeframe seemed reasonable. We are now regretting this decision, and wishing we had gone in a different direction. The men showed up and initially seemed somewhat careful and very polite. The day quickly became unraveled however. It took an extra 2 hours, from the quoted time, and had they been extra careful, I wouldn't have thought anything of this. Before even leaving the house however, we had 5 different things broken, all high ticket items, some irreplaceable. They broke both items that needed to be moved, as well as permanent items in the home, that led to disappointing conversations with the new buyers of our home. They were to then store our items for a couple days, until moving them into our new home. I would love to rave that they were so much more careful this time around, however they managed to break more items, as well as losing hardware to put furniture back together!!!
