However, it took 30 minutes for us all the receive our food. For lunch this is not acceptable as people are on a limited time frame. Also they brought out the first persons dish, then 10 minutes later the second person's dish and then another 10 minutes for the 3rd person. We ordered medium spicy but the food was under seasoned. Our first visit to this restaurant for dinner and we were very happy we chose to dine here. My wife and I were warmly greeted, and our cold Nepal Ice beer was quickly served. We started with vegetable samosa, and it was served very hot with two tasty dipping sauces. We also had chili momo and asked for medium spice. The sauce on the momos was very flavorful and had the right amount of spice for our tastes. Our third dish was paneer tandoori tikka, and the portion was very adequate with nice large cubes of cheese. The spice level was again perfect for us. With these dishes we enjoyed the garlic cilantro naan and it was the right choice for scooping up any remaining sauce. Our overall experience was excellent from the warm service to the fresh, hot and well-prepared food. We look forward to returning soon. read more

I was surprised to see that Aama's kitchen had a rating of 4.9 stars on Google and high ratings on Yelp. I am so pleased and satisfied to have tried this restaurant, I am officially a fan! When I ordered for pick-up, I requested extra sauces and while I expected to be charged, the owner was incredibly sweet and told me there was no need to pay for them. They generously provided me with extra sauces, which was a refreshing change! At a similar restaurant in Oakland, they charge a lot for even a small amount of chutney. This made me feel a great sense of relief and happiness. Everything I ordered brought me joy and was perfectly seasoned without being too heavy. WE LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT! The staff are super kind, restaurant is clean and well set up, and the food-- DELICIOUS! Worth every penny of buying. Great Indian food! Experience was very pleasant, staff were extremely attentive when assisting us with our orders and the food was tasty. I ordered the butter chicken and it was very savory, thick, and creamy! It came with loads of chicken chunks in the curry as well. The butter chicken can be adjusted in terms of heat levels, which I chose spicy. It wasn't too spicy which I couldn't handle, but there was a bit of a kick which I liked. Additionally they added a cute heart on top. However, it is a bit pricey since the curry does not come with rice. Thus, you would have to pay $5 dollars for a bowl, but it's enough for two people! Came here last Friday night for dinner with a bunch of friends. The place was extremely accommodating because we want a separate checks. Unfortunately, our order got mixed up and 2 missing item. We are reminded them twice and unfortunately, only one item came back. I'm by the end. We were almost 75% of the way through and I asked again for my order and it was by mistake that has not been even started, and I just told him forget it I will cancel the order. Overall, the food was great. The service was great, but they need to follow up on each tickets and make sure it was done before moving on even though it's busy. Aama's Kitchen, definitely felt like momma's kitchen. I hope the owner and the chef know they have honored their mom's legacy well. Not only was the space charming, but the owner and chef was too. He constantly came to check in on us and made sure my allergies were taken care of despite none of the dishes we ordered having any allergens in it. This was absolutely thoughtful and considerate since a lot of places wouldn't even remember even if you told them. Would recommend just coming here to meet the staff alone. But here on yelp we aren't here for the staff but for the food. I will have to say as my first time eating Nepalese/Indian food, it was an enlightening experience. This place seems to lean a little more Nepalese than Indian due to the way the food is seasoned. Its a lot lighter and not as heavy as previous Indian food Ive had. On top of that for those who can't handle spice, this is the perfect place to enjoy those traditional cuisines. Their medium was basically other places mild, and the weakest of spice tolerance can definitely eat here with enjoyment. (Me included) My personal favorite dish all night was the Chicken Saag. The spinach was soooooo soft and creamy and the chicken basically melts in your mouth on top of the rice. Definitely a must have when eating here because its underrated. It looks like we found our favorite local Nepalese/Indian spot and can't wait to come back here to get our fixes. 10/10 would recommend. p.s there is street parking but if your can't find any circle the block. The food is excellent, but I've only tried their Nepalese/Himalayan dishes - every time we've visited (must be about 4-5 times now...), we get sidetracked by all the different types of Momos, and never get to the Indian menu! But that really isn't a problem - every dish that we've had has been great - there hasn't been a single dish that we regretted ordering. We haven't even run into the situation where we regretted ordering a dish because it was too similar to another dish in the same meal! So, to sum it up, tasty food, good service, nice people. I was let down, I wrote on there SPICY level for the tikka masala but I got regular or maybe I got butter chicken, either way, it was watery, flavorless, and had a lot less chicken. So not only did I receive a wrong item but it also just didn't taste good. I typically go to Zareens in Palo Alto and their regular tikka masala is spicy and flavorful enough. I guess you have to order it SPICY tikka masala or else you get bland. I'm telling you, it taste like there was no spice of anything on this dish. We started coming to Aama's Kitchen about two months ago and it has become one of our favorites. The goat curry is our go to which is tender and very flavorful. My other top recommendation are the momos in the soup base. They are the perfect comfort food. Aama's Kitchen has a warm and friendly atmosphere. We have never had the panipuri, it was so delicious, the chickpea ball was so light and delightful with the mint tamarind sauce. The garlic, and onion naans were fluffy and soft. Omg the rice! So I truly enjoyed myself at this restaurant. The service was so sweet. I wanted to make sure I ordered the Nepalise specialties cause I haven't had this cuisine before. The owner (I'm assuming) was happy to explain the dishes and make recommendations for us. He is so nice. Our server was really sweet too. We had veggie samosas, cause I cant not have samosas, and they were great. Then we had the Sadheko Momo and they were delicious! I want to go back to try all the momo varieties. I liked the lemon and bites of raw onion. Last we had the Nepali Thali with chicken. The presentation was beautiful. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The flavors are so complex and just made me happy and warm and comfy. I loved the pickled veg that was on this dish and also the spinach. Everything was so flavorful.
