Well this was one of the WORST sandwiches I've ever had. Honestly how hard is it to make a veggie sandwich. They forgot the avocado and the bell peppers. And instead they added pickles. The bread tasted old and the mayo tasted rancid. I ordered thru a delivery app so luckily they will refund my money. I called the deli directly and spoke with someone named Alan who said he was the manager and he just got there so so didn't know who made my sandwich but I could drive over and get a new one...... ummmmm I had it delivered for a reason!!!!! He also said he couldn't help me with the refund and I had to go thru the delivery service. Ok fine. PLEASE save yourself some time and go somewhere else. I've had a better sandwich at 7/11

I'd never been here before today. Went to the deli and tried the Italian sandwich. I thought it was fresh and delicious. Hit the spot. The gentleman working there was also ver patient and friendly. Nice little neighbor spot i didn't know existed. I'm definitely coming back

Wow, what a disappointment. Been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally was able to convince my beautiful girlfriend to indulge here for our Saturday Lunch. Well, long story short, I don't get to pick the lunch spots anymore. Which sucks, but I get it and don't blame her because this place absolutely sucked. From the moment we walked in, it felt off. Nobody in there, and everything looks old and dusty. The guy working (dark hair, beard and foreign) was NOT happy that we were there for sandwiches. Almost gave a sign/groan like ugh dammit, you sure you want one? Really didn't like that. Guy went ahead and made our sandwiches. Selection of meats and cheeses was extremely poor. Sandwiches sound so good in the description, and you get to also chose your cheese type. Welp, he didn't do that. Just went and made the sandwiches. We asked a few questions about the sandwiches and he wouldn't even respond. Pure mute the entire time. Then when I paid, there was no "thank you", just handed me my change (which I almost felt like he wanted a tip and was awkwardly handing it back to me). It was $37 for two small sandwiches, no sides (which he was supposed to add in) and a complete rip off. We tried the sandwiches and wow, they were like eating an old sandwich that has been left out for 4 days. Bread was hard, dry and chewy. Absolutely no dressing or condiments on there. And very minimal meat. Check out the picture of how much bacon and what kind he put on it! Literally bacon bits!! We actually had to save a half, go home and put mayonnaise and mustard on it. Unreal. These sandwiches absolutely SUCKED! I was and still am very disappointed and will never be going back. Sucks because I was stoked to go. Oh well, live and learn. Just DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE, and EAT ELSEWHERE! That's all, time to go get some subway I guess.

I was a little hungry, so I decided to stop here when I saw the deli sign. I was very impressed with the large selection of various types of wine and spirits. I was promptly greeted by a nice gentleman, he made me a fantastic sandwich which I chose to eat it there at the store. I will definitely return very soon .....

Thanks to the cashier clerk for the recommendation on a new cider for me to try!! Went in looking for a specific drink but found a local brewed one instead. Good deal and great selection.

Starting the new year right ! Big fan of turkey sandwiches and this place did not disappoint. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich but I am not a bot but a real person.

It was pleasant to spend a good 15 minutes talking with Alan (the owner) about European and American wines. Boy, oh boy...is it nice to have a local shop (support local!) that offers great fine wines which are most likely not available at shopping center anchor stores. Currently with my champagne taste and beer budget, I went for the "frugal" choice of wine. But nevertheless, I did get persuaded to try a Burgundy, where as normally, I lean towards Bordeaux's (thanks to my great aunt Isabel). Variety is the spice of life! Well, at least my life. ;)

The classic Italian. It was whatever. It wasn't worth $9.00 that's for sure!

I use to come here all the time Maybe 6-7 years ago. This use to be the spot for a great sandwhich and some yummy sides. It's been that long since I have been here. We were hungry and I was telling my boyfriend how it's been years but I'm sure they are still Good! Well Nope! That train has left and I am sad! We both got the classic Italian and nothing really exciting about the sandwhich but the bread smh! I think I would have been better off making it at home. Not a fan of iceberg lettuce in my sandwhich. I mean it just was a plain sandwhich nothing special. What's really not good is the boxed potatoe salad it came with. I took one bite and I had to split it out. As you can see in the pictures. "Sorry" but yeah I would have been better off getting the sandwhich next door from Vons. ABC my suggestion, care more for the deli. Add spinach or mixed green option for the sandwhich. Cute your tomatos and onion with care not like it's being made by a 5 year old. And Please make the sides from scratch! It's super easy and yummy. And if you plan on using packaged sides put it in the back.. it's a super turn off to see a big box in the fridge with a scoop coming out. I take my food seriously as you can tell. And so sad about this spot because it use to be "The spot" :(:(:(

Recently stopped by Beach City Deli & BBQ after seeing recommendations online and decided to order…read morethe Big Kahuna. Honestly, one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on. Everything tasted super fresh and the bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. My original plan was to eat half and save the rest for later... yeah, that didn't happen. Ended up finishing the whole thing because it was that good. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the whole spot had a really chill local vibe. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. Highly recommend this place and I'll for sure be back to try more off the menu.

Soppressata, mortadella, bacon, extra onions, pickles & tomatoes. A satisfying, filling sub sandwich that made for a pleasurable lunch. A nominal wait, the meat were freshly sliced, and assembling the sandwich with plump & crisp vegetables, it was worth every minute of delay. The cashier was friendly & a pleasure to deal with, too.

This is one of the only Italian restaurants in DTLB. Broadway Pizza and Buono's are pizza places…read morethat are more "Italian restaurant" than you think, but this place is really the only true Italian Restaurant in DTLB. I give it 1 star for the nice owners and family. I give it 1 star for sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying the outside vibe. I give it 1 star for average food. The menu however, has major issues. The bread they use for the garlic bread, the pesto bread, and the pastrami sandwich doesn't hold up. The white part of the bread gets mushy and has a bad texture. That's the case for all hot sandwiches and garlic breads. I recently ordered the chicken parm, and the chicken was cut into small pieces and was burnt. I like my meat cut up in rice dishes such as paella and jambalaya, but cut up chicken parm seems low class and it wasn't great. I also recently ordered the Italian sub. It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average. I don't discourage you from going if you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal on the sidewalk outside in nice weather, but there is literally nothing I've found on their large menu that is above average. The menu is flawed in too many ways. At least the family owners seem to be very nice and that goes a long way in deciding who to give my hard earned money to.

Since then the grilled Reuben has been my measuring stick for every restaurant that serves it. It's a must! It shows the attention to detail. It's not a sandwich you can rush. It requires its own time to caramelize and set the flavors up properly. Just like a house made soup, a Grilled Reuben can tell you a lot. And, it just happens to be my favorite sandwich of all time! So. High marks on the store itself. It has a very open air feel, lots of natural lighting, high ceilings and then a hidden court yard behind the shop. It's very clean with lots of colors and art. The music is perfect for the space. The menu is varied and they have both alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks. It's a deli. And they absolutely fill the roll perfectly. And as anyone will tell you, who frequents any deli in the country. What matters is the food. Period. All the niceties mean nothing if the food distant stand up. So... how did they do? Meh. I've had worse. Much worse. I've also had much better. And understand his is my personal opinion. I'm well aware that my comments will not reflect the opinion of everyone. But, the corned beef. They do not cook it in house. It didn't appear to be a brisket although with it being shaved as thinly as it is I don't know if that would help. Brisket corned beer works best when it's nice thick beautiful cuts that break apart and melt in your mouth. But. As you can see in the picture, they don't grill the corned beef but they do pile it pretty darn high. Which is nice. The sauerkraut wasn't grilled. The rye wasn't roasted long enough so the Swiss didn't properly melt and set. Not enough Thousand Island dressing. The rye has the perfect texture and it helps to very nicely. An excellent Jewish rye! The pesto pasta salad was very nice. And it looked as if the other sides were made with an equal amount of attention and love. So high marks there. This is one of those tough reviews because the reality is the atmosphere, the staff and the location are all excellent. The sandwich needs some work. Remember that the Grilled Reuben is the ONLY TRUE American Sandwich. It was created from scratch for the 1942 World's Fair in New York City. It's an original! Treat it with the respect it deserves. And this three star sandwich... of all sandwiches is a hard pass. Sorry. But, if you would ever like to have me come into your restaurant and show you how to serve the best Reuben of your life... just invite me back. I'd love to show you how to make some simple tweaks and turn a meh into a don't miss!

I have a witness who saw me bite into the sandwich, and the hair was wrapped inside the deli meat as it came out. By coincidence, I also have a home security camera that captured the moment. The hair did not come from my head--it had a blonde tone from end to end, unlike my own. You also stated that I received an item for free because it supposedly didn't ring up. That is simply incorrect. My card statement shows that I was charged for both items. I understand that you've been in business for 26 years, and that's commendable. However, every business can make a mistake. What surprised me most wasn't finding the hair--it was your decision to publicly accuse a customer of fabricating the experience instead of acknowledging that errors can happen.
