We noticed a few days after our move that one of our TVs has a cracked screen and is unusable now. I didn't even try to ask for reimbursement because one of the movers broke my altar table on the moving day (because he took a phone call while holding our bed frame and dropped our bed frame on my table) and when I asked for reimbursement I learned that they only reimburse $0.60 per pound, so it's not worth it. The movers were nice enough, but seemed distracted when moving our things. A few weeks later we noticed our $1,500 bed frame felt wobbly every time we got into bed. I looked under the bed frame to investigate and noticed that the legs were screwed in crookedly and this was putting pressure on them and causing them to bend. We fixed this but also noticed that part of the bed frame was also separated in a way that is unable to be fixed. This mattress and bed frame was a splurge and now is shown to be irreversibly damaged. That brings the total of broken items to: 1 flat screen TV, an altar table, and an expensive bed frame. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. I would go with another moving company that is more careful or at least better reimburses damages caused; accidents happen but all of these are piling up to be costly to us so it would be worth paying a little more for movers that are careful/will reimburse better. read more

Rick and his team arrived on an early weekend morning ready to assist. They rearranged furniture throughout my apartment and stored boxes in the garage. They hung heavy mirrors, framed paintings, photos and parols (Filipino Christmas lights made of capiz shells). They even brought their tools and gadgets. They were friendly, respectful and knowledgeable. The rates were reasonable and I was happy to include gratuity. I would definitely contact Rick again for another house project or big move. I would not recommend this moving company based on my experience. I had scheduled my move for 9am and was told the movers would arrive between 9-10. They didn't show up until 10:35, which already put things behind. I didn't receive a call , I had to call and ask if anyone was coming. Out of the two movers, the older gentleman worked hard and did his job well, but the other spent most of the time talking and asking personal questions, Every time he stopped to chat, the clock was still running and since they charge by the hour, that felt very unprofessional and unfair. What should have been a straightforward apartment move ended up taking longer and costing more because of the lack of focus and efficiency. We had everything laid out and ready for them , they did not need to go into any of the rooms because everything was ready to go all in the living room and it still took them long . Although I'm glad they got the move done it's things like this that completely changed my experience. read more

I would give NO stars if I could. First of all, called and made appointment. At time of said appointment they don't show up and I have to call them and they said "oh yeah I remember you but I didn't write down your name". They say they can get someone out in an hour and a half. Two hours later two guys show up. I ask about a discount for the inconvenience, gives me a pathetic $40 off. So guys go to work, they did okay. I tip them and buy them lunch. They are suddenly wanting me to leave a review before they leave and are in a hurry. Shortly after they leave I notice a big gash in my floor. I call them about it and they say oh yeah I saw your friend move the couch, it must of been her. People we are both pregnant and didn't move anything. They say they are going to make it right and then they ghost me. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!! read more

Just used them over the weekend. They responded to my email within minutes, and we set up a time for the next day. The guys that showed up came in a huge truck with a lift for heavy stuff. They were so professional and courteous. They didn't rush, they took their time and were careful with everything, but also didn't drag their feet to make it go longer. I would def recommend this company for any and all moving needs. read more

The actual movers were ok guys but a couple things they did mess up by not being careful. They pretty much broke one of our bookshelves. Also they lost the pegs for our media center so now we have to replace them which in the process of unpacking is a very big inconvenience. Our previous movers were not as fast but we did not have any issues with things being broken so we know it was them being careless. read more

The two guys that's showed up were on time, and started off great. Once an hour passed, one of the movers was constantly on the phone, and the other one literally ran the clock. He continued to repack and readjust the items we had even after we asked him not to. Once we got to the unload- took 4 hours to load a small 900 sf apartment , they again had to readjust the truck multiple times, and overall weren't really interested in moving, when we called the owner to complain - the one mover started to yell at us - super embarrassing in our new neighborhood and then they began to just throw boxes to the ground. I have broken chairs and glassware. I would stay away from ABC movers. read more

Words of caution; get your estimate in writing to avoid disputes later down the road (pun intended)... Dealt with Don on my recent move from San Antonio to Austin area and was quoted $150/hr for a three man crew, $275 equipment/truck/gas, and a two hour flat rate ($300) for three hours of drive time (1.5 hours each way). The movers themselves were decent; three 20-somethings with good attitudes, who were considerate of my floors and walls. Overall, a moderately good experience except for last minute dispute over negotiated rate on drive. read more

Worst Move Ever!!!! Horrible Job!!!! Very Poor Customer Service!!!! Giving this company a 1 star rating is way too generous for the extremely poor job they did. Today, 9/23/14, I will post my review. I waited a little longer only to give the owner of the company a little time to respond back to my request about missing hardware. He has never called me back like he promised so here goes... On 8/2/14, two movers showed up. The mover that I will call the "lead" explained the paperwork and I signed off, which started the billing clock. He then explained how I could pay them an additional gratuity at the end of the move if I wanted to...awkward!!! Asking for a tip before performing the job???...have to admit, this was a first for me. The move finally got started when one mover (I now refer to as the slacker) said he was going to the truck to get a dolly. The slacker was gone so long, the lead mover finally had to go search for him. When they both finally showed back up, the slacker immediately went into the bathroom and stayed there for over an hour...time I was being charged for. The lead tried to start moving small items that he was able to handle himself. Once the slacker came out of the bathroom, the lead got mad at him and said, "you better not get sick tonight". Guess they had plans for later than evening. It was clear the slacker had indulged too much the night before and now we were all pay the price. Both movers were moving very slowly and constantly talking on their cell phones. Time was passing and the billing clock was ticking so I started carrying items out to the truck myself. Every time I met one of them in the hallway, they would say, "Oh, you don't have to do that", and I kept thinking to myself...and you don't have to pay the bill". At one point, the lead mover dropped his cell phone. I made a comment saying, "hope your phone didn't break", and he responded, "I hope it does so the office can't reach me"...wow...great comment in front of a customer. Once we reached our destination, the slacker immediately started complaining about having to climb a few stairs to enter the home and then more stairs up to the 2nd floor. We finally got tired of his constant complaining and told him to leave everything in the family room next to the entryway to avoid any further complaining and just get the move completed. After the truck was empty, both movers changed their demeanor and became happy campers and showed up at the front door to say goodbye...how sweet of them. I thanked them with a nice glare daring them to hold out their hands for a tip. Later, we discovered that a piece of hardware for the bed that the slacker had assembled was missing. He never let us know while he was putting the bed together that a piece of hardware was missing. Earlier that morning, I had observed the lead mover taking the bed apart and putting all of the hardware in the pocket of his cargo shorts. I have called the moving company back twice now asking about the missing hardware. They keep saying they will check with the movers, but still haven't called me back with an answer. I keep getting the excuse...I'm out on a truck right now, or I'm having to handle the phones right now...OK...so sorry to inconvenience you while you are working... In addition, the movers damaged a black wooden desk which now has a very deep scratch across the top of it. Comparing the 3 moves we have done with ABC, this was by far the worst experience and also the most expensive...and the last time we will be using their services. We will also be very vocal in the San Antonio community every time we have the opportunity to let others know about our horrible experience so the same thing doesn't happen to them. read more

I hired ABC Movers back in 2014. They showed up a bit late but worked hard throughout the day. We had 3 stops to make before getting to the new place and I only hired 2 movers. They were done in 8 hours with our help and I was impressed. I hired them again in December and it was an absolute disaster. I asked for 3 movers at 8AM. They showed up a half hour late minus 1 mover. As I was giving the tour, the lead guy wouldn't stop interrupting me. Over 2 1/2 hours late, the 3rd mover shows up and he's brought his wife (a packer). Even with 4 people, they moved slowly. I ask the lead mover about this, and he tells me the other 2 guys are new. When they finish loading, I instruct the movers to head to the new house with my boyfriend. I then get a call from the lead guy saying he's out buying food--but wants to know if I want anything. He didn't mention he was leaving to get lunch and left the new people to drive the truck. Shortly after, my boyfriend sends me pictures of a scratched-up driveway at the new house. I head to the new place and find out everybody has been on a lunch break... for well over an hour. I tell the lead guy (the manager) they're going to pay for the scratches and find out he didn't even know about them. The manager literally ARGUES that he didn't know about the scratches because he went to get food. I had labeled all of the boxes with the room they belong in, and asked the movers to put each box in the appropriate room. The new house was 2 stories so I expected this to take some time. What I didn't expect was the manager to keep taking calls in his truck for 15+ minutes at a time. My boyfriend and his dad are watching the movers slam around our [clearly marked] fragile items and put items in the wrong rooms. We bring this to the manager's attention, and he AGAIN argues with us for several minutes. After a terrible 10 hour day, we have to pay quite a hefty bill. They made small concessions for slowness at my demand. One of the crew comes back later that night because they forgot one of our items in the owner's truck. They come back again the next day for the same thing. I keep hearing from the manager (on that day) and some random person from ABC (via email, weeks later) that ABC will fix the driveway. I sent the quote for the repair of the driveway (I am renting so this was the owner's decision) to ABC and they never answered me. Luckily my landlord is great so he contacted them and dealt with it. I understand that sometimes things go wrong, but the behavior of the manager was ridiculous and unprofessional. They should also have a lower rate for when you get trainees--they are not as productive! Moving is stressful and ABC Movers certainly didn't do much to ease the transition. read more

This company took over the original moving company that I had which they shut down. I was thankful for their prompt responses. They kept my items longer than we had agreed upon. They damaged my marble table, which over 6 months later I am still fighting to get my money back. We had a few missing boxes and other small damaged items which was expected. We also received a box that wasn't ours and wouldn't contact me back so I could return the items to their owner. They kept directing me to the claims department but they wouldn't help me either. I took this matter into Better Business Bureau and hopefully they will help me. They also nickled and dimed me and charged me an additional $500 than the original contract and I even packed less items! Trust me, you're better off getting a UHAUL and hiring movers through there, it is much cheaper. I will never go through a moving company again. The movers didn't speak much english which was fine, until they were rude to me when I tried to help them with an easier route to the truck. read more

I am totally in agreement with the other poster here. I used them with similar results. They lost things, tore things up, (including my house), they gave me the run-a-round, and then stopped returning my phone calls. They are liars. They are not even men enough to talk to you about your concerns or issues. Please do not use them whatever you do. They dropped and broke my wife's baby grand piano. Even though they swore they had moved several before. They left trash everywhere. They didn't show up when they were supposed to. If I forgot to say anything bad about a movers just add it here because I guarantee you they messed it up. Use anyone else and you'll be better off. I just can't say enough bad things about them. The movers did a great job loading up our truck. They took the time to reload what we had previously packed up to make sure it would all fit securely and took care with all of our belongings down 3 flights of stairs. They also gave us some tips on packing and tying secure knots. They were friendly and did not waste anytime. The only negatives are: despite what the office said they clearly wanted cash (which would have been fine if the office told me that ahead of time) and I originally scheduled for 8 am, the day before they pushed it back to 9am, and ended up coming at 10am. I would suggest being clear about the move (stairs, large items) and following up (they didn't call to tell us that they'd change our time--we only found out because we called them). But I was very impressed with the movers themselves and would recommend this company. read more

Awesome! They showed up at the last minute due to a fiasco with Half Price Movers, and sent two great strong men who worked hard and moved us with smiles on their faces. No extra charge for the last minute call either. The guys were wonderful! ABC Movers delivered what they promised. Thankfully we will not be moving anytime soon. The movers were friendly and nice, but not very time efficient. They scratched up my leather couch, which had not been wrapped for protection, and left brown leather marks on the walls. Other pieces of furniture were also scratched up, there is even a streak of paint from the wall on the side of my recliner. In the process of getting my couch in the door, a porch light was broken as well. After a few dropped comments about their low pay rates, they graciously accepted my tip which i felt they did not fully earn. I appreciated the friendliness but as they were leaving, one mover left me his phone number and hit on me. I thought I had hired a professional service and was very disappointed in the quality, as well as the scratches and marks on my brand new leather couch. read more

Unfortunately were not on time but I was thankful that both guys attempted being careful with all furniture and boxes. I did have to keep an eye on the clock, as I know sometimes movers will go overtime without consent but they were honest on the time and let me know that if I felt they needed to stay, there were here to help. ABC Movers are not worth the R.I.S.K!!! From management or the intake person (Don), to the movers themselves the experience was absolute horrific! However, I must and will give credit to one of the two movers that was sent, Jessie did the lions share of the work while his colleague talked on the phone and passed out cards for his personal handyman business. I only used ABC Movers because one of may friends recommended them and actually said her move went great. However, my move was completely opposite of great to the point that the movers were unaware that I was moving to an apartment that was located on the third floor and I KNOW that I made that clear to Don when I reserved the move! Furthermore, I assisted Jessie with bringing quite a few items up to the apartment as his assistant seemed to have lifting limitations and when I mention this to Don during one of the numerous calls that I made during the move, he literally shut me down and made it appear as if I were the one with the problem. I asked to speak with the owner of the company and of cours he or she was not available. I also called back a couple days later to speak to the company owner about the move, the nonexistent mover, and how I had to assist to get the move completed with no provisions made on my behalf. Of course, I have yet to hear from anyone, and thus my comments. Folks, I can go on and on about this move and ABC Movers, but my words to you are look elsewhere as the stress of ABC Movers on top of a move is not worth it! read more

The worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Told me they would deliver between 9 and 9:30 - they didn't show up or call. Did not pick up my call. Then the owner emailed that they would deliver the next day, but they did not and did not call. Owner was extremely rude on the phone, accused me of being hard to deal with when I'm the one waiting for them to show up or at least call. Next the owner charged an extra "delivery fee" that was not quoted in advance. Finally the owner told me they needed it all in cash, after originally telling me that a check was OK. read more

Awful experience. The price that was quoted to me was $450 and before they finished unloading the tanning beds they were moving for me, they walked up and said the price was gonna change to over $2,000! I was floored but my options were limited. The movers themselves were great, nice guys. I explained that I wish I had be notified of the price increase BEFORE my tanning beds were loaded in their trailer. They refused to put the last tanning bed together unless I paid the $2,000. So, because they are the ones who took the beds apart they are the only ones that can put them back together. Leaving me high and dry. Not impressed with the lack of professionalism. I was also called an "idiot" by the "boss" for thinking the price that was quoted to me would be the price I paid after "all the work they did." Do not recommend. read more

USE THESE MOVERS! I was starting a new job in San Antonio and needed to pack up my apartment in Austin and move to San Antonio ASAP. ABC movers drove from SA to Austin in a large moving truck and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They sent two strong men who got to work as soon as they arrived. They wrapped my fragile items and quickly maneuvered these items into the truck. They even helped me clean and inspect the apartment because I had to turn in my key to the front office. They took off to San Antonio while I signed the final paper work at the office. The movers called me on the road to check my status and were waiting at my new apartment when I arrived. These movers quickly moved me up to my 3rd floor apartment and never once complained. One of the movers even offered to connect my washer/dryer if I needed the assistance. My large furniture and fragile small items all made it to my new apartment in one piece. The move time ran a little longer than expected but I was charged only the quoted price. I highly recommend these movers and will use them for future moves. read more
