I can't tell you how many times I had driven by this place without any clue of how tasty the food is! Ha! They have quite an range of options for you if you are considering asian eats! They've got dumplings, ramen, fried rice, fried noodles and other traditional chinese dishes like orange chicken. But, my introduction to ABC Noodle House, it was for their seafood boils! I had no idea! They have a couple more "combo" options than some of the other seafood boil places in town. The main different I saw is that they offer Dungeness Crab in addition to Snow Crab Legs and broccoli! The seafood boil was delicious!! Definitely something I'd crave again. Their house sauce was spicy and very savory. It had a great umami flavor. We celebrated my mom's birthday here and had a great time. They have their own private lot. Parking was not hard to find. We walked in and it was busy!! The family had the sea food boils combo #2 and #6. They mentioned that the crab was good, they also enjoyed the veggies, sausage, shrimp and muscles. It was nice that they also serve it on a platter vs a bag like other places. They rated it a 4/5 for spice, flavor and quality. I also like how you can order other meals here if your not feeling like having a sea food boil. We also got some calamari for an appetizer. It looked like onion rings and it was also served with marinara sauce so it was a bit off putting. Not my favorite place for calamari and we will probably not order it again. I liked the dumplings last time we came but will definitely try some other items on the next visit. We had other family members order noodle plates. They had orange chicken which they enjoyed and took home since it was a large portion. The other had beef fried ho fun which had good flavor too but not enough veggies or color to the plate. Overall we enjoyed our meals and variety offered here great for families. The staff was friendly and always made sure our drinks were topped off. The Tan Tan Ramen was delicious and the perfect degree of spicy. Even cold, the leftovers were perfect for dinner. I'll have to try their other soups. BUT ORDERING WAS A NIGHTMARE. I was excited after a friend told me about this place yesterday- and as soon as I walked in I was happy. Not only do they have funny seafood signs and decorations, but the food. Omg. So good. Market prices are available on each table on the side of the napkin dispenser for combo orders or lb orders of specific seafood options. I heard about this place from my esthetician and from her description I just knew I had to try! The restaurant is in a quaint little house, it looks small but is decently spacious inside. Upon entering I was greeted right away and told to sit wherever. It was a little before noon and they weren't too too busy. I got soup dumplings and they were delicious! They did come out after my lunch entree though. Which was fine I ordered the spicy fish soup and it came out pretty fast. It had such good flavor and was slightly spicy so I added the dumpling sauce and more chili oil and boom delicious! The waitress was very attentive would check on me often and kept my water filled. Came here with a friend, we've been wanting to try this place! We ordered youpo noodles and one of the seafood combos. They were both very good. The noodles were not something that I could easily get elsewhere so it was perfect. The seafood was also really yummy and although it was a lot of work, we had a lot of fun. We arrived here on a Sunday at 12:17 pm. The restaurant opened at noon. We were directed to a table right next to a talkative couple when all of the other tables were empty. There were 3 servers and it took awhile for one of them to come over. While there, the staff gave us little attention. We ordered the number 6 seafood boil with mild cajun sauce, spring rolls (probably frozen from a local oriental market), a glass of merlot( cold from the refrigerator not room temperature), coke and water. The seafood was overcooked and overly smothered in the red sauce. I used the ladies room. The stall lock did not work and i suspect it had not worked in awhile. The ambiance , in my opinion, is dark and unwelcoming. I would not recommend and will not be back. read more

We were excited to try this place read all the reviews and was eager to try it - we did & we are done. Restaurant lacked AC & looks like it has seen better times. It was around 4 pm on this warm day of our visit. Ok - we've eaten in less than terrific venues and accepted it if the food was good. Reviews said authentic food I must say NO! Went there a couple of days ago. When I walked in it was dead silent, like okay cool. The waitress sat my girlfriend and I down and took our drink orders. After a while she then took our food orders. After she dropped off our food she never came to check on us not once. It wasn't till she came with the bill that she made an appearance again. The whole time we were eating the ladies that worked there were just staring at my girlfriend and I. Once in a while they would say things to each other in a low tone. Definitely made me feel uncomfortable because it felt like they were judging us. Overall my first experience there was not great. Also the food portion for their seafood boils is crazy and the waitress seemed a little bugged when I didn't want to take my left overs home. This was a place I would not expect to pullover when driving to try. However, I saw the advertisements and reviews online, so I stopped in. I got one of their combos and it was pretty good. I was even able to eat the leftovers for another day. The Cancun favors are great and it was decent quality of crab legs. You get a good amount of food for the price. I was so excited to try this place read all the reviews and was eager to try it, now I regret it. Reviews said authentic food I must say this is NOT correct. I expected flavorful food this was far from that. We ordered several items to share as none of us have ever been here before spent $149.00. Which is not an issue if ALL the food was good. First the positives the calamari were cooked to perfection but the batter needs to be seasoned it was very bland. My husband did enjoy his shrimp. The rest of us did like the beef eggrolls and Crab Rangoon (They could use a little more filling) which was very tasty. General Tso and the orange chicken had ZERO flavor, Chow Mein was soggy, the dumplings were not souping, and the pot stickers were near empty, honestly Trader Joes and Walmart have better versions of them. Well looks can be deceiving as you drive up to this restaurant. Upon entering the attendant immediately sits you. I customize my boil with 6 scallops and a pound of shrimp in medium Cajun spice. It was delicious and prepared to my liking. Everyone else ordered ramen , they said it was delicious and would go back again. The server was attentive and we never had any problem with the great service. Tea was amazing, it wasn't old like most places. Only draw back was the appetizer we ordered. And the reason I didn't give this place 5 stars. We ordered the calamari and it was disgusting, imitation calamari, it looked like old onion rings had a bad taste. From the outside looks like a small place that you might not want to visit, but don't let the appearance fool you. The food is great and the flavors were on point. I had a little language barrier with the waitress, but nothing that stopped us from having a great time. There was a gentlemen that translated for us (Great Experience). This restaurant was recommended as a nice change from Cracking Crab. I was told the menu was more extensive with a variety of seafood and noodle options as well as the seafood boils. My wife had a seafood boil, I had the ABC ramen. My ramen was pretty good. My wife loved her boil. She especially loved the way the shrimp was somewhat butterflied, not over cooked and really easy to peel. She said the seasoning was on point but, needed a little salt which she added from the table. I would suggest bringing your own seafood seasoning if you want it salty. I had the steamed buns, can't remember the name and my wife had the steamed dumplings. Both were really good. The prices were considerably better than brand X. read more

Really more of a 3.5 star place, but slightly rounding down for overall experience. When it comes to Chinese cuisine in America, the once ubiquitous Cantonese Style that was made popular by the mid-20th Century immigrants from Hong Kong and the Guangdong province, is now be supplanted by Taiwanese and interior cuisines of China. When I do a search for "Chinese food" in ABQ, the results either come back with one of two categories: 1). Taiwanese 2). Generic Sino-Americanized stuff like Panda Express and others of that ilk. So I was glad to see that there is still one lone hold out Cantonese cooking in the ABC Chinese restaurant in Albuquerque. Upon walking in, it's like a person is transported back to the 80's. The large dining room is encased in dark wall paper adorned with Chinese artwork and cheesy lanterns to do their best to add some authenticity. Do what others suggest and order from the Blue Menu. After a few days in the ABQ, I needed some Asian flavors, so I ordered the Cantonese Wor Won ton Soup. Every place prepares this dish a bit differently, but essentially this is the house "special" soup where the kitchen throws in a bunch of different meats in addition to the dumplings. The won tons, while on the small side, were quite tasty. The filling was well seasoned and had distinct flavors of the pork, shrimp, scallions and other spices. There was also imitation crab meat, whole shrimps, pieces of chicken, and an unexpected bonus of stalks of Chinese broccoli. The broth was okay, but I wish the kitchen had done a better job of skimming some of the excess oil. But all in all, a satisfying dish. Service can be lackluster, bordering on inattentive, but hey, if you want that experience go to a P.F. Chang's... Another encouraging sign is that during my visit, I observed several tables of Chinese families eating and engaged in conversation. And the phrase I kept hearing over and over again in Cantonese was, "Ho Sik" - Translation, "Tastes Good". read more

I love this place. It's always deserted when we go, so I may be the only one in town who loves it. But their seafood is off the charts. And their pupu platter is an experience with the mini grill and small fire brought right to your table. An easy kid pleaser. I always get something with every type of seafood known to man. And my husband (ying to my yang) gets sesame chicken. Always. Sigh. As unadventurous as he is, he never complains. And I love it. Service is always prompt, even if there is limited conversation. Have not been back until they do the remodeling so went to go try it out. The layout the place is more open. I like the ambience. It'll be something different for group friend to go try it out. The server is pretty decent with knowing what is on the menu so it is good the pricing wise well it could be anybody's opinion The noodle bowl is pretty good. Decent flavor. The portions of small overall is good the steam buns it was OK. Try one time. Most likely wont try again. if I have a suggestion, I recommend to put it in the bag close afterwards so that way the heat and the spice were able to marinate correctly.
