Came here for dinner and got the Sunday Gravy dish... I can't remember what it's called. It tasted fine... It was good, but not great. The pasta is made there. A lot of meat with the dish which was great, hardly any sauce, but enough that the dish was not dry. I think it had a lot of anise in it, which is not my fave ingredient. I did eat most of the dish and took the rest home. Very filling so a good size of food. Still, I am not sure I would return here. I've never eaten Taiwanese food so I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like. I would be interested in the walnut shrimp, I probably should have gotten that. I ordered the Sunday Gravy since it seemed to be what they were known for. My friend got the spicy lamb noodles and also said it was fine. The bar/restaurant looks cool. Loved the vibe. read more

This is a fantastic new cocktail bar serving up really well crafted cocktails without an ounce of pretension in an intimate and inviting space. I would return here again and again if I were still living in LA. Rob, Aaron, and Sam are awesome and take exceptional care of you the moment you walk in the door. You can tell they know what they are doing and have genuine drive to ensure you enjoy your visit. I tried their Everything or Nothing (Pisco, Dry Vermouth, Salers Gentiane Apéritif, Cocchi Americano) cocktail and it was all booze, just the way I like it. Funny enough it was crystal clear and looked like water. Water it was not. It was deceivingly strong and filled with depth and layers of flavor. It tasted different from the cocktails I usually go for which is what I was looking for. Rob did an excellent job describing it beforehand and an equally excellent job making it. I also tasted The Mother We Share (Bourbon, Fernet Branca, Ginger, Lemon, Pineapple) which was just as well made and just as tasty. My only regret was coming here after already drinking earlier, otherwise I would have loved to have tried more of their creations. Plus, a cool feature is that they let you order from the Taiwanese restaurant next door (same owners) and you can get served here. The food looked and smelled great. I'm obsessed! First time at this bar and I've already been back in the same week. Small venue but it reminds me of the bars in San Francisco. The bartenders make delicious and fun takes on traditional cocktails. Yes- a lot of them are pricey, but happy hour comes and they make an excellent gimlet. So delicious! What's really neat is that they have a shared kitchen with the Little Fatty next door so you can enjoy chinese food and a delicious drink all at once. I wasn't a big fan of the scallion pancakes, but the eggrolls, fatty noodles, orange chicken, and shanghai dumplings have all been pretty tasty in my experience. Felt pretty good yesterday before my evening meeting here. Accomplice did nothing to depress my mood, and a lot to exacerbate it. We had orange chicken and two glasses of wine. Happened to sit next to the manager, Pam, who seemed like she was disguised as a fellow punter. But her honesty in admitting she was the manager belied her subterfuge. Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 stars We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the drinks from Accomplice and the Taiwanese food from Little Fatty's right next door. The Positives: very good deals and well crafted drinks. There was a special fundraiser with special drinks the day we visited so we didn't try many of the regular house concoctions. Though if we are ever back in the area, we'd certainly return to this establishment. None of our drinks were weak or watery and everything seemed to be made with good quality ingredients. The atmosphere is casual with a comfortable blend of modern and industrial decor. The bartenders were all polite and quick with our orders. Everything seemed clean and organized. The Negatives: the bar is small in size and limited on seating. Arrive early if you want a good table. It appears to be quite popular so as the evening progresses, more people pack in and the noise level goes up significantly. This is probably one of my favorite chill bars ever ! They are just great to say the least . They went above and beyond . I asked for lemonade ( I didn't see it on the menu but just tried to ask just in case) and they said yes . To my knowledge they actually didn't have any , they made it for me ! For me they went to get lemons , squeeze them and and made it for me , talk about above and beyond ! The food is delicious ! The atmosphere is soothing and calming , Definitely recommend! Accomplice is Little Fatty's accomplice -- right now, anyway, they're functionally one and the same. Their stuff is on LF's menu and you can order food and your drinks together. The main difference is that when LF closes for the night, the bar itself stays open. I've been here a few times now but not past when only the bar was open. It was pretty busy at 9pm, but there was a table along the window you could stand at. They sent a server over to take our orders, actually. He was busy but answered our questions kindly and remembered to have someone bring us water, etc. The host (technically with LF) was very sweet, and swiped some bar stools for our our larger group whenever the seats were freed. For the yums... I try to stay away from alcohol but these were worth my while... the Urban Chamo went down a little too easy haha, it felt like a grown up version of a tea drink I might order from a Boba shop (in the best of ways). Really well balanced, pleasant but interesting. They serve some great cocktails, and are easily the best Asian-inspired ones I've had. read more

Accomplice is a great bar with a delicious house made cocktail menu. The bartenders are all super friendly and talkative, giving great recommendations based on your preference. There's a hipster crowd that comes to Accomplice, but overall the age ranges. Unfortunately what I don't like about Accomplice is that it's also part of Little Fatty, the restaurant next door. So there is never any space to really sit or stand when the bar gets crowded, due people sitting for quite some time to eat their food. read more

Went back on Friday night around 7pm. It was just kicking off a fun Friday night. 80s tunes in the background, pretty people, and fresh looking cocktails to boot. Had the Aperol Spritz. Tasted a bit like carrot juice but was very refreshing. For bits had some seriously tasty meat. The braised pork belly was delish, but the black pepper beef was ridiculously good. Some of the juiciest most tender and tasty beef I've ever had. This is definitely a must try! Service was pretty great too. I was impressed there were no delays in getting food out quickly and piping hot, especially on a Friday night. They are running a tight ship here. If you want to spend your money and time (more importantly) with a pretentious bartender who makes you beg for a drink and then makes snide comments under his breath to you and to the other bartender about what you ordered and complains about making it, then definitely go here! When I did sit down at the bar, the bartender even went the extra step to inform me that he "judges women by their handbags before they sit down" and let me know upon leaving that he'd "still be judging me tomorrow." I sure hope this doesn't affect his performance at his day job too. There are plenty amazing bartenders on the westside who could care less about your handbag and know how to make a person a cocktail without groveling for it and being insulted when you just wanted a gin and tonic. The food is really good from Little Fatty but I highly doubt Accomplice will last if they think being rude for the sake of being rude to people makes you unique or better- your a dime a dozen in LA. *** For the record- I had a very simple over the shoulder black leather purse with fringe at the bottom- no brand. I must say the well-crafted Artisanal drinks the change with the seasons are a genius delight and for someone who does not drink very often quite the experience. They also don't have any T.V.s, so it's not the type of bar you go to to watch a game, it's more like the type of bar you go to meet up with friends or strike up a conversation with people who live in the area. Such a favorite when I am in Mar Vista!! The Accomplice is connected to the Little Fatty, which has some great noodles! I loved coming for the margaritas, they have a spice and sparkle to them!! I'm obsessed with this place (though to be fair I've only been twice). The happy hour is a solid option, with inexpensive gimlets and old-fashioneds. The cocktails are creative, though typical expensive prices in LA in this day and age. And if you are hungry, the asian food is available from Little Fatty. I recommend the Cauliflower and noodles. The greens were recommended by our waitress, but I thought the bok choy (which is what the greens were made of) were kind of bland. The fried rice is great too. I think I just found my new favorite bar... no joke, I am obsessed with this place and I've only been here once! Decided to meet up a friend for drinks on Wednesday night and picked this place because it was in between the both of us. Didn't even know they had food late into the night, let alone Taiwanese food... can you say yassssssssssssss? Although I wanted to order everything off the menu, my friend wasn't too hungry so we ended up only ordering 2 things :( FOOD: -Cold Noodles 4/5: I enjoyed the chewy texture of the noodles and think the side ingredients blended well with the tasty peanut sauce. I have to admit, going in I was skeptical because cold noodles is nothing fancy, but I was pleasantly surprised by this dish -Meatballs 5/5 (special item off the menu): 3 meatballs came on a bed of lettuce with glass noodles, my only complaint is that the meatballs were so good I wish it came with more! This definitely reminded me of my mom and grandmother's cooking, so good :p DRINKS: -Old Fashioned 5/5: I only had a taste of my friends drink but it was nice and a tad sweeter and spicier than mine -Godfather 4/5: I felt this drink could have used a splash more Scotch and a bit more amaretto, but overall it was a tasty and went well with dinner PARKING: There's metered parking in front of the restaurant but I wasn't one of the lucky ones able to nab a spot. I want to like Accomplice Bar. The ambiance is great and they've taken the time to develop an interesting menu. However, I've been twice and both times I've had terrible service experiences. During my first visit, they comped a round of drinks because after ordering, the bartenders seemingly forgot and it took more than 20 minutes to get the round. All in all, mistakes happen, so I didn't hesitate to come back to Accomplice Bar. On my second visit, I found that although my total bill came to $61, my credit card was charged $114.41. Luckily, I had a copy of my receipt. Again, mistakes happen, but I was charged nearly double and only found this mistake having reviewed my credit card statement against the receipt. While I think the billing issue was a mistake, similar to when they forgot about my drink order on the first visit, at a certain point any bar or restaurant needs to deliver on the service experience as well as the food or drinks. Forgetting about drinks and charging customers nearly double, negates any of the cool ambiance of the Accomplice Bar. read more

Quirky bar and restaurant hybrid. We sat at the inviting bar, which is split in two by a well-stocked wall of impressive labels from around the world. There are several tables, too, with appealing Asian art on the walls. The bartender gave us red and black menus- one for drinks and one for food. Little Fatty is next door and serves tasty Taiwanese small bites and entrees to customers in the bar. They have an interesting cocktail list, and I started with a cool, citrusy gin concoction while my spouse sipped a Scotch. We ordered a flavorful hainan chicken/rice dish with a mint/ginger topping and chili-spiced cucumbers. Other items that looked good include scallion pancakes, all kinds of noodles dishes, pork belly, seafood clay pot, and a squid bao. We got there at 5 on a Friday and when we left it was beginning to fill up. The crowd seemed local and laid back. Note: Happy Hour is from 5-6 Monday through Thursday. I couldn't stop drooling at the high-end bourbons, tequilas, whiskies, and gins rising up to the ceiling. Oddly, they have limited wines by the glass. We'll definitely come back to sample more from the red and black menus. The neighborhood south of Venice can be less favorable, so I'd advise parking near the bar or near Venice. read more

I rated Accomplice Bar 4 stars and Little Fatty 3 stars, because Accomplice Bar is a cool place to get a drink regardless if you are ordering food and the Little Fatty menu available at a cocktail bar is awesome; similar to getting Kogi & Chego at Alibi Room. Little Fatty got 3 stars because if you're looking for West Side Taiwanese, I'd recommend ROC. The menu at Little Fatty is more expansive and interesting to me than ROC but the execution of the dishes I prefer at ROC. It used to be that us westsiders and all of LA needed to drive to Arcadia and seek out Din Tai Fung to experience Taiwanese cuisine. Appreciation for Taiwanese cuisine is spreading with restaurants like ROC (Republic of China), Kato, and Little Fatty. You won't get soup dumplings or dan dan noodles at Little Fatty but you do get to experience a variety of Taiwanese dishes. I ordered the daily dumplings which were scrumptious fried pork and duck dumplings the night I had dinner at Little Fatty. I was disappointed in the scallion pancake I ordered; it was too oily and too sparse on scallions. I was also disappointed in the three cup chicken. It certainly felt healthy, but I thought it was lacking in flavor, sauce, and heat. I much prefer the three cup chicken at ROC. The XO fatty noodles made up for the lackluster three cup chicken. This review is a two fer one, as Little Fatty and The Accomplice bar next store share a kitchen, chef, and menu. I ate on The Accomplice side which is low light, flickering oil flasks, and an 8 person group table with a giant crystal punch bowl in it's center surrounded in flickering light. Lots of energy in the restaurant. I'm a little bit confused between the seating options on the Little Fatty side and The Accomplice side. You need to put your name on a list on the Little Fatty side, but when I asked for an open table in The Accomplice bar I was immediately seated. I think the bar is first come first serve and the Little Fatty side is more organized and you can relax once you get your name on the list. The Little Fatty side is way too bright IMHO. The upside is that you get to watch the chefs and cooks at work in an open kitchen. The cocktail menus are really cool and handwritten in different handwriting in journals that have many blank pages after the menu. Growing up Americanized Chinese food was one of the only out of home cuisines I knew. I first learned of Shanghai soup dumplings as a twenty year old living in New York City. When I moved to Los Angeles I learned about Taiwanese menus and then I read a book on the history of modern China and learned that Taiwan's population is dominated by people who left Beijing (and other parts of China) in a political loss to Mao ZeDong. read more
