I was in the area recently and decided to pop in. I know they sell other items within the store, but I went straight to the back to see if there were any discounts for this brand. I saw they had a 50% discount on a few of the items and took advantage of it (note: the discounts for this brand won't always be the same). I found a nice purse and loved the colors. I've never met a Home Goods that I didn't like, until I visited this one!…read more Sure, it's huge and carries an extremely large amount of items for every single space inside and outside your home, but the customer service absolutely sucks! I was eye to eye with at least 6 employees and NONE of them spoke, offered assistance, or seemed to care about me being an actual paying customer. I guess discussing their happy hour plans was more important than assisting the customers. After I grabbed the items I wanted, I got in line. I saw that register one was open and didn't have any customers, so I proceeded to it. Instead of letting me know she wasn't open, I had to ask and the cashier said, "we are open, not ready for you yet." Rude and should've been handled much better, but whatever. I then head back to the line but another line opened up. As soon as I approach, the cashier said, "no, she's next!" Talking about the woman behind me. I said, "No! I'm next. I just went to register one and they're not open!" She apologized and said she thought I came the wrong way into the line. Now, why would I do that? I can clearly see where the line starts and ends and I clearly understand the concept of a line! That interaction was the icing on the cake. I won't be returning to this location. This HomeGoods location is fantastic!…read more The store is overall clean and well organized. Everything is easy to locate and always has great finds and eclectic selections. And of course, HomeGoods always has excellent prices. Customer service was helpful, and mostly personable. But parking is a bit busy, even on a mid week, mid day visit. However, the parking lot is huge. This is my favorite location in the area! Highly recommend!

Awesome hand lotions, hair perfumes, Turkish towels (I got a great grape [okay, just plain purple] and pink one that's got teal on the other side -- just beautiful and so soft, ooh, what luxury! Turkish towels are awesome because they take up less space and dry far more quickly than other, thicker towels, so of course they end up both smelling much better and being a lot more hygienic. The orange-scented hand lotion is super-luxe, too, with a rich creamy feel and excellent scent. I got the amber hair perfume. The rugs are really nice, with just enough texture balanced together with softness and sturdiness all together in one piece -- and there is an amazing selection of different colours of these area rugs available, all rolled up nicely in a cool basket. Speaking of baskets, they've got them! The baskets have a real beachy vibe and would be perfect for a day (or a week, or more!) at the beach. They're real sturdy and stand up well on their own, unlike some other floppier baskets or of course beach bags out there .... The baskets are also really good for shopping, too. There are cookbooks, fun cooking and cleaning supplies such as the never-before-seen-by-me ravioli-shaped sponges and oh-so-many things to explore, I wouldn't want to ruin it for you by telling you more! The person I encountered was super-helpful, friendly, nice, accommodating, etc. The parking is plentiful (At least it was when I was there.), and if you like pretty, flowery things, there is also a lovely gardening center just steps away ... plus lots of other stuff nearby to explore in Kensington! Located directly behind Target on Bou Avenue, Homesense is a large store that carries a variety of furniture, lamps, decorations, and kitchen wear. The store is new and the people who worked there couldn't have been nicer. I found a number of items that were not clearly marked, so I had to ask for help. There is a large number of cashiers, so you don't have to wait in long lines. The only problem I found were the prices. Most of the items I was looking at were priced close to the retail price. I really was looking for a better price. The store is clean, well stocked, and has courteous sales people. I am sure that I will be back.

I was walking outside the store today about 3 minutes before it opened and three people were in the store and looked at me and didn't even acknowledge me until I waved at which point they signaled I would have to wait. It really would not have cost them anything to open the door 3 minutes early. Small acts like that make a really big difference and show customers that they matter. If there were three people running the store and everything was already laid out, there was really no reason not to open the door and when I came in, there was no acknowledgment of that either. I might have at least said "I saw you waiting there. Sorry we couldn't open the door earlier. Thanks for waiting " or something like that. Whatever. Not a huge deal, but I'm not crazy about the people who run the place.

While I was about it, I'd pick up some global snacks. It had been years, but yesterday, since I was in the area, I decided pop in. The store focus seems to have shifted to foodie treats. I scooped up a box of British brownie mix made with Cadbury chocolate and a jar of Madras curry powder made with spices from Cape Town. I could have bought many more items, believe me, but I've been on an eating tear lately, so I held back. I was sad to see the home furnishings section much scaled back and more conventional than back in the day. But still, World Market remains a foodie delight!

Last week we went and grabbed some things off of clearance. 2 cushions, only one had the original price tag and the other had the WM price tag. The associate showed me the other cushion with now the marked up price tag from WM & said "oh we had to increase the prices for inflation" and never honored the original price tag on the other pillow... then she marked me wrong for yet another item for the price it was marked before the final one. I showed her the other price tag on the other side saying "look you guys marked it as such" for the final price. She gave me attitude and said "oh I need to speak to the manager to see if she can honor it". She gave me the price without my reward coupons but I was so tired of her nonsense I wasn't fighting her over a couple of dollars. I didn't want to make a scene but it's honestly absurd that they can't even honor their OWN MARKED PRICES. They were giving me attitude for their negligence & honestly, shady business practices. Another time, I went once to do a store pickup. It wasn't ready for 3 days & I finally just went to the store because we were in the area & don't live nearby enough to just wait around and I needed the items. The person gave me so much attitude about how I shouldn't come in without notification. It wasn't a holiday or anything, just a random spring day. But I shook it off as oh maybe she's having a bad day. They have cute stuff but for the price & the horrible CS, I can easily see this being the next store to go out of business. "Inflation" is affecting everyone but don't go marking up items & then expecting us not to say anything when you pull things like this. We most likely won't be returning or just order online to avoid this.
