ACME bread is definitely top for me. Love their baguettes and batards. Got a fresh loaf and service is quick and easy.

This bakery has some of the best sourdough bread in the world. The baguettes are thin and basically perfect. If you want to find an example of sourdough perfection, this is it. My wife has been a sourdough baker for years and she makes great batards like many other bakeries in San Francisco, however, if you want the ideal baguette, this is the spot. The sandwiches are to die for and they even have pizza.

Another really amazing spot I tried the herb slab which is really good customer service here is friendly and nice Service is quick and the food was delicious I kept tearing off a piece of bread to eat some during lunch Ambiance is whatever's it's really nice layout they have all the bread infront of you so you know what ingredients it has in it in case you're allergic to any of the ingredients inside of it and it's super delicious and tasty goes well with butter or even sandwiches

Acme Bread earned their stars, this place lives up to all the hype. On a normal weekday Acme is one of the only few shops in the Ferry Building that opens before 8 AM. Which makes it a perfect destination for early risers. As their name states, they're obviously known for their bread. The cheddar chive biscuit was flavorful but a bit dry. Their olive roll on the other hand was to die for. I highly recommend you grabbing one while walking around the Embarcadero. What was a surprise however was their assortment of pastries. A bread shop that doubles as a bakery? That's a deadly combination. I also grabbed an almond croissant just to try and went into it with no expectations. Surprisingly it rivals and sits at number two on my list for Almond croissants. It was not overly sweet and the marzipan was just the right amount. It was one of the best surprises for my early day. Last but not least the gentleman at the counter was a true gentleman. Addressed us by sir and miss along with delivering top notch service. It made me excited to know that if I was ever early for work, Acme would be a nice treat before heading into the office. I look forward to my next visit here through the Ferry Building.

One of few businesses opened in the Ferry Building on Christmas Eve. Got the jalapeño cheese turnover - which was decent, but would not be getting again due to price (not unexpected due to SF). The pastry was decently flakey, the jalapeños were very mild and soft (in texture as well), cheese was a little goopy due to being room temp. Maybe I'll try something else next time.

Growing up, Acme bread was a treat. My mom sometimes got it at Costco if we were hosting people--otherwise, generic bread tended to be more common in our household. It's fresh and yummy. Service is good. Now that I live in SF, I come to Acme more and still think it's a treat. I love their olive bread. Other items are good plain, with butter, or with cheese. Can't go wrong!

The pastries here are disappointing, but the baguettes and sweet batard are quite good. I got the seasonal fruit cardamom cake, which was not good at all. The cardamom didn't go well at all with the seasonal fruit at that time, and it was overall not a good combination of flavors. I do like acme's sweet baguettes, which my mom also buys at Safeway. They have a good airy interior and crunchy exterior and a nice flavor.

I love acme bread especially their sourdough. It's the perfect amount of sourness. It always has a flavorful and crispy crust with a soft and fluffy inside. Their sandwich rolls are soft and fluffy with a layer of sesame seeds on top.

Acme Bread is the absolute BEST! I'm not able to make it to the Ferry Building location as often as I'd like to, but when i do, tearing off a fresh piece from a pan epi or a sourdough baguette is the perfect way to enjoy the backdrop of the Bay!

We visited in the late afternoon. There is still a good collection available! Snatched up two Epi baguettes, one for a friend one for ourselves. It is perfect, restaurant quality, perfect moisture and softness. You can see all the rolls, slabs and baguettes available. It is always a must visit in the ferry building. Line moves quickly, staff is helpful. The display is nice, love how they lay the bread out. Highly recommend. Reminds me of nice bakeries in Europe. It is a long term local company. A treasure of the Bay Area.

Fairly delicious bread and pastries in the SF ferry building. I went here right before boarding the ferry to Angel Island and fortunately at 9am Wednesday there was no line. I got the ham and cheese turnover which was a bit over $7 so it's a bit pricy but does the job in adequately filling me up before the hikes. It took maybe 5 minutes for the pastry to be reheated upon request, so it helped while I was on a time crunch. The pastry was very flaky and buttery and I love the cheese in it. Every bite was delicious and I wish I got a bit more on the go.

An oasis of incredible baked croissants, baguettes and pastries that you can't miss. While you plan what you are going to order from blue bottle a few stalls down, stop by Acme Bread for the best Ham and Cheese turnover. Matt says no Frerry Building visits can be complete without stopping by Acme.

I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

Their Hotplate drop every Tuesday at 12PM is literally a war zone, reminding me of trying to get VIP concert tickets on Ticketmaster. And sadly, I haven't been able to score another box since then but oh well, at least I won once lol. I came during my pickup window and there was already a line out the door, maybe 10-12 people. I've heard it can wrap around the block, so honestly this wasn't too bad. The bakery itself in this adorable white and pink building, with cute window details, and neon cake sign. Pre-orders can skip the line, so I went straight inside to collect my little box of victory. My small box came with four pastries: Twice Baked Bourbon Peaches & Cream, Cheesy Ratatouille, Mocha Graham Butterscotch Cruffin, and Strawberry Vanilla Bun. And I gotta be honest, I loved them ALL. The Bourbon Peaches & Cream was heavenly. The pastry was perfectly buttery and flaky, while the cream and filling were rich and smooth. Easily one of my favorites. I'm normally not a cheesy vegetable savory pastry person, but I had to try the Cheesy Ratatouille for the plot lol, and surprisingly it was delicious. The veggies were cooked just right and the combination of cheeses was phenomenal. Strawberry Vanilla Bun was a classic that couldn't go wrong, fresh strawberries, delicious cream, simple and so good. Sadly, I saved the Mocha Graham Butterscotch Cruffin for the next day and all that generous filling made it pretty soggy. It still tasted good, but the cruffin had lost that crispy, flaky texture. That's on me though, so I definitely need a redemption round in the future. Overall, Butter & Crumble is absolutely worth the hype AND the Tuesday 12PM battle. Hopefully one day I can win the war again because there are so many other pastries I still want to try!

Pineapple King Bakery is a takeout suite in the Outer Sunset district. There was no available seating inside or outside. You can save time by preordering online and then coming by to pick up your goodies. Parking was really tough in this area with all of the curbside metered spots occupied. The line wasn't too bad when I stopped by on a weekend afternoon. Posters showing some of the different products were placed on the front windows along with a copy of the menu. You ordered at the service counter that was just a few feet inside the front entrance. Several of the baked goods were on display inside the glass case underneath the counter. A larger menu board hung behind the counter. You could see the army of workers busy in the kitchen preparing different items. Pineapple buns/puffs (bolo baos) of multiple varieties were the stars of the show. Buns with other fillings like BBQ pork, hot dog, coconut cream, etc were also available. Egg tarts, some pastries, and drinks (e.g. milk tea) rounded out the main categories. Combo boxes allowed for larger quantities to be purchased. Coming from the southern most part of this state, we don't have anywhere near the choices for pineapple buns like they have here. I purchased a Deluxe Box to give as a gift for my relatives. It consisted of four mini pineapple buns... Original Pineapple Puff, Matcha Pineapple Puff, Mango Pineapple Puff, Mini Pineapple Bun with butter. For myself, I bought a Pineapple Bun with guava butter, a BBQ Pork Pineapple Bun, and a Pineapple Bun with custard. The total for everything was less than twenty dollars, and the business accepted cash only. The pineapple buns had a milk bread base topped with a crackly, golden cookie-like crust. They were soft and of a decent size for the respective prices. The version with the guava butter was warmed up by the kitchen. They recommended that I consume it right away to appreciate the decadent butter. In hindsight, my only regret was not ordering at least one of the egg tart types to taste and compare to what's available in my hometown. I gave a 4.5 star rating for the products I sampled at Pineapple King Bakery and rounded up.

I was fortunate to land one of the limited seats inside the bakery, although, there was also plenty of bench space in the parklet outside. The pizza crust was thin and crispy - with just the right amount of chew - and tasted slightly of sourdough. Topping-wise, the mushrooms were abundant but not overpowering; however, I wish there had been other vegetables to balance out the flavor. Paying less than $5 for a generously-sized slice (adorned with a mini slice on top) felt like a bargain, especially in SF.
