Totally professional and reputable local business. I've rented gear, purchased equipment and clothing, and even traveled on one of their bus ski trip packages, and I have always remained a very satisfied customer. The staff goes out of their way to offer help and answer questions, but not where it's annoying. The gear for purchase is about average priced for what you'd spend in most places, but the rentals have always come out less expensive than what you would expect. They even have car rooftop cargo units to rent. I'll always be a loyal customer to these guys and will continue to recommend them. read more

Note: Action carries many types of bikes. My review is concerning BMX. Surprising selection of high-end completes like Kink, Sunday and Subrosa. There were BSD tires in sand color and transparent Van's Cult grips. There were raw Stranger cranks and decal stickers. Are you getting the picture? Be ready for the lack of service. When I first walked in there was no one to help me, considering the employees were occupied with kicking down the dressing room walls . When someone finally helped me, he was so inattentive and absentminded ( stoned) it was ridiculous. I had to go back to rent my daughter's equipment, once again I get the same dude. We took a mountain biking vacation to Arizona and needed to rent bikes. This place was amazing! They provided great gear options and Travis even recommended trails to check out based on our time and ability. While we were out riding we met some locals who knew and loved the shop. I had my first experience with Action in the Spring when my son's bike tire went flat. For the most part they seem friendly but no real attention to detail. I got home with my son's tire and a part was missing (don't recall the part) and I had to go back to the shop to get it. While I was there one of the sales people encouraged getting snowboard season rentals from their shop as they had good equipment and reasonable prices. I have been calling since the beginning of September to find out when seasonal rentals start and kept getting told "call in a couple of weeks." When I called today I was told "we have been renting kids seasonal rentals for while but we only have certain kids sizes." This information would have been nice to know months ago as I could have got my son's rental from Durango, Colorado. Its a nice store, convenient to where I work but overall I would say the customer service is lacking. read more

Just rented a Santa Cruz 27+ Carbon Hightower. The employees were more than helpful during the whole process. I typically work with Adventure Bike in Gilbert but they don't rent bikes out. We were visiting from Northern Canada and brought our road bikes with us, planning to ride as much as we could. Half way through our vacation my rear hanger gave out on my Cervelo R2. We searched for a Cervelo distributor in the Phoenix area and we're lucky enough to call Action Rideshop first. We drove to the shop, they had the hanger and installed it on the spot! Only to discover that I also needed a new derailleur. Again, they had the part and installed it within 30 minutes. No appointment needed! Amazing service and very knowledgable staff. I live in Gilbert and this is hands down the best shop shop to go for service in the area. Dropped my bike off late Thursday and was able to get it back Friday. Awesome dudes over here, fixed my bike and let me know what they did to fix it. They also cleaned my bike which was awesome!!! If you need repairs I highly recommend this shop. I ride south mountain around 60 miles per week and thrash my bike - give these guys a shot, you will not regret it! read more

I received the best customer service here at Action! I came in with little knowledge to buy a present for my dad, and the guys were so informative, helpful, and patient. The staff even brought a bike out to a vehicle in the parking lot to demonstrate one of the bike racks I was considering. They looked up options online for other models, and even special ordered the rack I wanted when they didn't have it in stock. Kudos to Josh, who was the employee helping me the most. I've rented (and bought) ski's from here and have also rented/demo'd a Mt. Bike. Overall service is good and Josh is awesome! He takes all the time necessary to work with you and answer questions. My daughter and I have been shopping here for about 5yrs. We're both casual snowboarders and come in cluelessly looking for new gear every season. The guys here are great, there's never any pressure and they are extremely helpful. We've used them for rentals, snowboard maintenance and purchasing. They have a good selection of gear and clothing plus can order if they don't have what your looking for in stock. We've been to many of the big name sporting goods stores and have had help that varies from a kid who couldn't tell a snowboard from a surfboard to another who thought he was Shaun White. They carry snowboarding, skiing & camping supplies along with scooters and even SUP board rentals. I love the friendly local service and the knowledge that we'll be treated with respect and get all our questions answered. It's a great shop you should really check out if you're looking to get outside. read more

It was good to locate these guys again... I thought they were gone forever when they disappeared from the Alma School and Baseline area. I went in and it seemed a lot like the old shop. Slightly updated. Odd that they are right down from Freedom board shop but hey if it works great. I wondered around and was treated good from the start. I purchased a hat which was a much more pleasant experience than going to Zumiez or Tillys in which I cannot stand due to the lack of respect from any employee in either one of those stores, let alone being able to hear myself think with the blaring music... Glad to see Action is still around after all. read more

Wow! Probably the worst experience ever! We called first and said we are snowboarding on Sunday and asked if they offer travel day before and after. And the girl said yes. I told her I was leaving early sat morning and if I could come down Friday end of day? She said no problem. So we drove all the way down from paradise valley to the store. Got fitted. And was told it's now $50. I told the guy what I was told on the phone and he tells me no we don't do that. He went and talked to the owner and he confirmed the same thing. They said sorry but she is NEW and doesn't know any better. And that they would not honor it after driving all the way down. While I was telling the employee why that is very unprofessional the owner just sat there one table over and did not step up once or say anything to help the situation. Very useless and unprofessional. I would not recommend these clowns to anyone. Useless liars. It was much better before this idiot took it over. read more
