However, if you want to feel like you're being pushed out, do just what we did and sit at the bar. The "locals" make you feel that you are not welcome. We arrived at 7: 30 and our waitress didn't introduce herself. She seemed annoyed that she had to wait on us. She ignored me the entire time and then we were told she was "leaving for the night, her shift had ended" and another waitress Mercedes took over. She was nice and attended to us quickly. Old school kind of place that's warm and cozy inside... and has friendly and helpful service. It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, and we were the only ones in the place (not usually a good sign) but we got lots of attention and a decent meal. It's a steak restaurant, so I ordered the Filet Mignon. It came with a choice of soup or salad, and I had the salad with the house Concord Grape Vinaigrette dressed (sounds a bit strange, but trust me.... it was delicious). The grilled 8oz certified Angus beef was well seasoned, and served with onion rings and a choice of potato (I chose baked). The steak was cooked to order, but could have been more tender (especially for a filet). There are better restaurants in both the suburbs and the city.... but this place is a decent choice to be brought back to the 1970's (not price-wise... ha!) for a slightly above average meal. read more

My friend and I are going around the Buffalo area trying different restaurants that focus on steaks - this was our first stop. We were quickly seated in this rather small yet cozy restaurant. Our waitress gave us a warm welcome and we were given our menus. They had a specials menu in addition to their regular menu. After ordering our drinks (I had a cabernet), I ordered the filet mignon (medium well) and my friend ordered the NY strip steak, also medium well. For our appetizers, which came with the meals, my friend had the salad with a house dressing while I enjoyed the soup du jour (YUM!). I appreciated how they kept any bread off of our table until our food arrived - we still had a large appetite by the time our dishes arrived. Our steaks were delicious. NO SAUCES WERE NEEDED. If I had to provide any feedback, I would recommend cooking my filet mignon for another 1-2 minutes, otherwise it was an excellent dinner for a fair price. My friend enjoyed his strip steak as well. Visiting the area to attend a wedding and was looking for a place to dine after a long drive. Searched local restaurants and saw the reviews for this place. Had high hopes. Unfortunately, the place was a miss. I ordered the ribs and my wife ordered the prime rib. Well, the ribs are just dried rubbed and not smoked. They came out dry and absolutely flavorless. If it wasn't for the sauce, they would have been inedible. My wife's prime rib was just ok and on the dry side even though it was ordered medium rare. On the plus side, the onion rings and french fries were good. The wait staff is super friendly but spend way too much time writing up checks and orders by hand and joke that the owners will not update the system. There are better choices in the area read more

We celebrated a birthday here recently. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They were attentive and clearly wanted to make sure everyone at our table (a party of six) enjoyed the evening. That level of customer service is rare these days. We appreciated it very much. Everyone did enjoy their dinner. Our orders ranged from a burger (rated as "one of the best I've had" by our diner), ribs (the half rack was a large portion of flavorful, meaty ribs), to wings & beef on weck (both placed in the top five in WNY by our diner); to the prime rib (a special of the evening that both diners rated as perfect). The salads and soup were good and we loved the bread (especially that cinnamon corn bread!). They brought out dessert and a candle for the birthday person, which was a nice touch. We also ordered the carrot cake and a pistachio ricotta cake and enjoyed both. The pistachio cake might be worth a trip just to get that. Walking through the door at Adam's Rib is like entering a time warp. If you're craving a '70's classic steakhouse vibe, this is the place for you. Dark wood, subdued lighting, deep red tablecloths, captain's chairs upholstered in more of that deep red. Flashback to my days as a server! The only things missing are the ashtrays on the tables. On the menu are all the old classics: seafood bisque, wedge salad, prime rib, lamb chops, surf & turf, etc. The jumbo scallop dinner was a stingy four scallops swimming in an ocean of butter & white wine. Nothing special, and overpriced at $23. Dad was fine with his petite cut of prime rib. Dinners include a choice of soup or salad, which is fine, but also potato OR vegetable, not both. Boo. The cornbread on the bread plate was delicious. Service was very good. Much appreciated refills of water without having to ask. In honor of this throwback setting, I ordered a highball (does anyone even know what that is anymore?!), and there was certainly no skimping on the whiskey. And since Dad is an old school kind of guy, he got his usual martini. He picked up the check, so I don't know how the cocktails were priced. We forgot it was restaurant week and walked in without a reservation. The staff was very accommodating and gave us a table immediately. The complimentary bread was delicious- and the soup that came with my prime rib was the best I've ever had ( i believe it was baked potato??) Both my guest and I had the 12 oz prime rib, which I thought was decent We went to order the creme brulee that everyone was raving about, but the only dessert they had was ice cream balls so we decided to just go for the check. This is a review for a restaurant week special. Adam's Rib seems to be somewhat of a Snyder institution. It has been around forever and the interior is dark, paneled and red. It screams 70s to me, but I wasn't alive then, so my information may be incorrect :) I went with a girlfriend for restaurant week. The special included one entree, a salad and a glass of house wine. I got red (forget the variety) but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the wine. Not much of a wine snob, but I sometimes find "house wine" at restaurants to be vinegary garbage. My salad was fresh and a good portion for a dinner salad. The croutons tasted homemade. They also brought out bread which was an unexpected delight! Warm Italian bread and a piece of really good cornbread. The butter was soft too, which I always appreciate. Nothing irks me more than being served rock solid butter! They had several choices for the entree, seafood, chicken or beef options. I had to go with their specialty, the prime rib. My friend also tried this. Another lovely surprise was having the option for a potato side with our entree. I got the twice baked potato with my medium/rare prime rib. And oh my gosh. That meat. That potato. So good. The restaurant week portion was 6oz and was perfect. It was served with lots of au jus that slowly made its way into my beef and potato. Ecstasy. The twice baked potato was also impossibly delicious. I can't say I watched them make it in house, but I believe them just by how it tasted. There is no revolutionary creativity happening in the kitchen at Adam's Rib, but boy do they serve a good plate of meat and potatoes. I will be back. read more

I am giving 2 stars simply due to the pandemic and possibly a benefit of doubt. We ordered 2 16oz prime ribs, at 36 dollars each. Both were ordered rare, however they were WELL DONE! I couldn't even finish 1/4 of it! It was tough and hard to even pretend to enjoy. To make matters worse, they did not include any auju! So nothing to make it even kinda enjoyable! I heard about Adam's Rib years ago at my hair salon and always wanted to go but never got the chance to make it. So when my friends and I looked over the list for restaurant week Adam's Rib was in our top 3 and ended up being the place we chose. I called on Thursday evening to make a reservation for 8:30p on Friday. Upon walking in we were greeted by a very nice man named Cliff (I believe this was his name, forgive me if I'm wrong)who said he was the owner.. He seated us and updated us on the Local Restaurant Week Specials and told us about the wonderful bread and cornbread he was going to bring us. While he was getting the bread the waitress came over and gave us more detail on the specials, she was a very nice lady and made us laugh the whole time. The complimentary bread came out and they were absolutely delicious like the owner said they would be, the butter was warm and both breads were soft and moist. During our time of eating the bread our wine order was taken, we all got a glass of moscato which was included with the special. We all ordered the prime rib because I was told that this was their signature dish, included with the special was soup or salad, and a potato or vegetable. I ordered the potato soup (which I got bagged to-go)and a baked potato with the works. The food came out in no time and looked amazing. My prime rib was cooked perfectly medium well and I was able to cut it with a butter knife. I will be going back to Adam's Rib to enjoy more of the foods that they offer. The whole experience was great, my friends and I were treated so nicely but everyone and the food just topped it off.. After paying our bill and heading out we also met the cook, Patty, she was very sweet and wished a good night. This is a MUST TRY place.. read more

This is a great American Steakhouse, linen tablecloths and napkins fine dining as it was known back in the 1970's. Gentlemen tending the bar is dressed in an Oxford shirt and tie and knows his craft well. Service is top notch, I was greeted immediately upon entering the back door, (parking lot) is behind the restaurant. Given a choice of table I grabbed a seat along the baguette near the bar, Cubs were in the process of beating the Giants on the TV screen. My servers attended to my every need, the host kept warm bread from the oven on my table as soon as I could gobbled it up. The Cinnamon cornbread was truly unique and very tasty. They have a good choice of steaks, seafood, and dinner specials at reasonable prices for aged prime cuts. My choice was the 12 oz. Prime Rib, known as the Eve cut, it came with au jus, and a choice of soup or salad, I chose the Seafood bisque. The soup was a bit disappointing, it had cream as its base, with lots of celery and bits of minced clam not much else, for the up charge for the seafood it supposedly had in it wasn't worth the price. My steak was superb! Very tender and juicy and cooked to near perfection it came with sautéed vegetables which were fresh. For dessert I opted for a slice of carrot cake, with buttercream icing. Very good not overly sweet, moist and flavorful. Coffee was equally good served immediately pipping hot, great way to top off the meal. Adam's Rib is a great place to go for that old-school vibe. Think mid-60s "Mad Men" style. Don Draper would certainly feel at home here. They excel at cocktails, and they pour them strong. We went for my birthday a few months back. I had the filet, my wife had lamb chops. Both were top quality and along with my Manhattan, made me feel like I was about to close a business deal back in the good old days of the 2 martini lunch. This place is a time machine in a good way. Another review not based on food, just bar. Adam's Rib is old-school red leather and wood awesomeness. There is no fancy high-style taking place here. The menu is slipped under plastic and placed in a leatherette binder. The stools at the bar are like old captain chairs with BACKS. I love to lean back. I like a healthy pour. The pours here detour right past healthy and head straight to a morning of "Holy fucking A, what happened to my pants? And where the hell am I?" We arrived at 6:30 didn't get served until 7:30 BUT to be fair, there was a dinner rush and a bunch of folks got seated at the same time. Service was delightful and Food was EXCELLENT! Atmosphere was quaint but edgy. Locale is small so I wouldn't recommend for large groups. Bread service was warm fresh-baked, crispy loaf and warm fresh-baked, soft, sweet corn bread. I stopped for a quick lunch on the way to the airport. Really because I was starving and there was a parking spot out front. Sat at the bar, very attractive blonde behind the bar, "Courtney" was super helpful & polite. Went here with my mom and godmother on a Friday night. Our waitress was very rude. She had a major attitude, not friendly at all. The cocktails were very strong (not complaining:)) the New England clam chowder was very good, lots of fresh clam chunks. My mom and I had the 8oz filet, and my godmother had the stuffed shrimp. My steak was a little under cooked, I ordered medium, but it was more med rare, but my moms was perfect. My godmother enjoyed her stuffed shrimp. We asked about dessert and the waitress told us a list of desserts except for the one we seen on the specials menu that we wanted. We mentioned it and she replied "oh yeah, that too". We ordered the baileys Irish cream creme brûlée, with 3 coffees. It was all very good. All in all it was good, but not good enough to go back.
