Are you kidding me?! I'm a carnivore of fine foods and Adams Rib delivers. Add in the friendly staff, timely service (without feeling rushed), extensive bar choices and feel-at-home atmosphere and you have a great night out on the town. It's my go-to choice when I'm in town, either with family and friends, or with clients. You don't have to raise your voice to be heard and the seating is comfortable. I googled restaurants close to my hotel on Flint Rd. Adam's Rib is a gem. I called for a reservation to be seated in 15 minutes. They were accommodating on the phone and delighted to greet us. When we were being seated, the host noticed my mother's arm in a sling and sat her where she was sure not to be bumped. Dinner was delicious. I tried Chicken Godzich, named after the bartender. We gave this place two tries. The first time was okay, really only because the seafood bisque was very good but the entrees were not. The second time I ordered the lamb chops, ordered medium and they were so rare I could barely cut them, had about two bites and lost my entire appetite. Plus the side vegetables were cold. Girlfriend ordered a battered fish fry that wasn't that great either. Ambience is a little weird and the place is so small - service was okay - about what you should expect. Was one of the worse experiences ever. Poor service, poor menu choices, worse than poor food and poor addition on the check. The Welsh Rarebit was a watery mess and they refused to take it off the bill because it was sampled before sending it back. The onion soup was watery and tasteless. We visited Adam's Rib Restaurant last night with another couple. They had been once before, a few years ago and said that they liked it. I didn't ask for anymore details because I wanted to be completely surprised. As fate would have it, luck was on my side. We arrived around 5:30pm and were greeted by a very friendly wait staff. The place was small yet very cozy. It had the charm and decor of a restaurant from decades ago....which I loved! Red vinyl on the chairs and warm dark wood throughout was exactly what made me excited for more. We had a few drinks at the bar then sat for our meal. For the sake of a review short enough to read, I'll only review what I had and the consensus of our group. Our waitress was truly amazing. She was very friendly and talkative throughout, yet never overbearing. She was a 40-something woman, whom I will be asking to be our waitress next time....hands down. I started with the Lobster Bisque. It was steaming hot, with great flavor, but I would have enjoyed a few pieces of lobster rather than just some very small pieces. I would still get it again. For my entree, I ordered the Prime Rib. How could I not, it's in the name! For my side I decided on the vanilla infused sweet potato fries. The prime rib came out with an amazing rosemary crust along the edge which is one of the best I've had in quite some time. I was surprised the fries didn't come with anything to dip them in so I asked for honey. The waitress recommended something, which if I remember correctly was walnut honey butter. This combo was insanely good. If you go, do yourself a favor and get those fries with that dipping sauce. The prime rib was too much to eat, plus I wanted to save room for dessert. They had a creme brûlée special. Let me say this, I am a self admitted creme brûlée snob. It was good, but I wouldn't say great. To the average person, it was likely delightful. Yes, I would get it again, but it didn't quite match that of my favorites. Then again, it had its work cut out for it. How could it match the caliber of my entree? After we finished dining and paying the bill, we made our way through the quant dining room. We were thanked numerous times by the wait staff for dining. Even as we were walking out, we came across a gentleman who we believed worked in the kitchen, even he thanked us yet again for our patronage! Great place to eat, food and service was top notch pot pie and Alfredo with tenderloin tips were awesome

My husband and I came here for our first anniversary dinner and we left unimpressed. While the artichoke French appetizer was good, our entrees were terrible. I ordered the tenderloin Alfredo and it was swimming in what appeared to be olive oil and butter. My husbands seafood dish was smothered in cheddar cheese and it was served with frozen vegetables. We went to Adams Rib for the first time last night because of restaurant week. We had driven by on numerous occasions and decided to use our "date night" to try it out. We couldn't have been more disappointed with the food. My wife had the half rack of ribs and I tried the "filet". Both tasted like they had been sitting under a lamp for hours. The filet tasted like Salisbury steak and the ribs were rough and swimming in sauce. We will never come back! read more

This is the second time going to Adam's Rib and my wife and I enjoyed it as much as the first. Definitely an older crowd, with lots of regulars it seems. A friend told me that the chicken pot pie they serve here is really good, so we decided to try the place. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disgusting meals I've ever tried to eat. We started out with an appetizer of three stuffed peppers and a plate with TWO small pieces of stale bread. The peppers were so bad we didn't finish them. When we got or dinners, my chicken pot pie was goop with a pastry shell perched on top. The dish was over-salted (otherwise tasteless), very thick (probably from being reheated numerous times), and had very few peas/carrots, etc. (but it did have a whole tasteless bay leaf). The only chicken I could find in this slop were numerous pieces of cartilage! It was topped off with a puff pastry shell that was almost certainly meant to be filled with raspberry or blueberry filling. Marie Callender makes a much better dish for about $2. The only reason I'm giving it a food rating of 2 is because the beef in my girlfriend's pot roast dinner was very good, but even her meal had some serious flaws - tasteless mashed potatoes (probably instant) and very few roasted veggies. As per recommendation of the waitress and hence the name of the place I thought I would try their ribs. All I can say is "Are you serious" Now I never write reviews but thought this was worthy of noting. They are by far the worse ribs I have ever had. Undercooked, fatty, tough, and just awful. The BBQ sauce was the only thing that allowed me to stomach these things. When the waitress asked how everything was I just said "it was okay" and not what I really thought. She seemed to had taken it personal and vented with the other waitresses about my minor discontent. I guess that left the rest of our stay without any service as she did not refill our water or ask if we wanted desert etc.. I went here on vacation with my family. The menu and the decor haven't changed in at least four decades. The "special" seafood chowder was gray and far too salty. Everything else was decent at best. Our server was very nice, but she knew that the food and decor was outdated. We asked what a few menu items were and she honestly looked uncomfortable having to answer. Place has been around a long time and the inside decor shows it. Being a steakhouse you would think they would know the difference between rare and medium rare but evidently that's not the case. I ordered a NY strip Pittsburg'd rare, the steak was medium rare at best and evidently Pittsburg'd means a little salt and pepper. 3 of the others with me had prime rib ordered rare as possible and again at best it came medium rare which for prime rib sometimes that's as rare as possible. 1 person had the lamb which was very chewy. I had ordered the salmon with a berry reduction and it was supurb, my parter had the strip steak and he, too, was delighted with his selection. Went here with decent expectations and was very disappointed for a birthday celebration. The service was ok but the cost of the food did not match up to the quality. The presentation was terrible. When you pay$40+ for a steak it should not just be sitting on a bare plate. I was also very disappointed when I had asked the waitress if the scallops were good and she indicated that they were excellent and the large ones. First off, we picked this place because of the great yelp reviews. When we got there it was pretty quiet still and the place is kinda small. Well we over heard the owners yelling at the staff. It was kind of like an opening to a kitchen nightmare episode where Gordon Ramsay walks in and people are arguing and there is a general feeling of uncomfortableness. Very tense vibe. Harping at the staff about what seemed to be minor things. She wasn't discreet about it either. I dared to ask a question about the year the restaurant was opened, the owner seemed very annoyed with my question. I wanted to know what year because I wanted to know a little history of the place. It's 1968 if anyone wondered. I don't mind the 1970's decor which includes red leather chairs and dark wood, but I do mind the server telling me (a vegetarian) that there was no meat in the sauce and when I took that first big bite of spaghetti parm, some nice big chunks of pork sitting under the melted cheese. Being there was no other vegetarian dinner options on the menu, I sat and ate complimentary bread. Every great steakhouse has a small vegetarian menu. My fiancée ordered the filet, he said it was passable. 6/10. It was "ok". It was nothing to go out of the way for. This place seems like they have their older crowd "regulars" that shuffle in, but it's not a place for younger couples. My 2 stars are for the wait staff. The girl that greeted and seated us was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress (minus her slip up with my meal) was nice and apologetic. The owners on the other hand, never came over and apologized. Passed by Adam's Rib many, many times but never stopped in. On Saturday night, we did and it was well worth it! I will be going back, I can promise that! Our server, Michelle was attentive and friendly! Starting with my chicken corn chowder soup and ending with a shared ice cream dessert everything was sublime. My filet mignon couldn't have been more perfect! The reason for not giving 5 stars would be because of the drinks at the bar. It seems that everything we asked for they did not have. The bartender was apologetic and seemed embarrassed by it. He was very nice and young and maybe not trained well enough. My Manhattan was served in a wine glass minus the standard cherry. It seems all drinks were served in a wine glass which was odd. Maybe it's the thing they do, but I would avoid that at all cost. I understand they are under new management. Though we have driven by it so many times, my husband and I just went here for the first time tonight for restaurant week. We were greeted by the nicest woman, we told her it was our first visit. She said how happy she was we decided to come in and proceeded to tell us about the menu. The waitress was delightful, she shared her thoughts about the best dishes and she was absolutely correct. I had the chicken milanese which I have had at other fine area restaurants and this was above and beyond that I have had anywhere, just delicious! My husband had the Filet medallions and said it was exceptional. It seemed to us that the owners are on premises and do a great job of making sure the customers are taken care of. Shortly after arriving we were asked to move tables as a larger party had come in. We were more than happy to do so as we had just gotten our drinks, but they insisted on buying us a round of drinks for doing so. We found a wonderful family business, excellent food and a warm friendly atmosphere and we will definitely be going back. This is a neighborhood gem for sure! read more

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night and were thoroughly disappointed. When we walked in, we noticed that it was slow for a Saturday. Maybe 4 tables at the most. We were seated by a the hostess q who took our drink order while we looked over the menu. After about 15 minutes, the bartender brought our drinks over because our waitress was nowhere to be found. She eventually came over and we ordered, clams casino and 2 prime ribs with house salads to start. The clams casino came out smelling like a wet dog and dripping with greasy yellow liquid. They were inedible. The waitress did take them off of our bill after she noticed that, between the two of us, we had managed to only choke down one clam. The house salads were average and the prime ribs were just okay, not worth going back for. Average meat and so-so flavor. The real spoiler were the clams. Between those and having to listen to the bartender loudly talk about all of her surgeries all night to the two people at the bar, it wasn't worth the $75 bill. read more

I was really looking forward to dinner at this restaurant. Very dark inside and very old-school which was fine. The waitress was nice to my very elderly mother and aunt. My dinner of scallops was absolutely horrible the pasta was swimming in three quarters of an inch of olive oil and in the separate dish the scallops were swimming in a sea of oil. they were good but there's not much you can do to destroy scallops! My aunt Mary's French onion soup was very strange it looked as though there was spinach floating on the top of the French onion soup we inquired about it in the waitress said she would check but she never came back to tell us what it was it was also very salty. My mothers shrimp were good but the scampi sauce was really not there just more olive oil Altogether very disappointing I would absolutely not go back there. I would've had a better meal getting a fish sandwich at McDonald's. I am giving it one star because the waitress was very pleasant. read more
