Great location right on Sonoma square. Adobe has a nice and relaxed atmosphere and was a great place to kick back and have some tasty wines after a day of tastings out at the vineyards. Tara behind the bar was very helpful knowledgeable of their selections. Start with the Cabs which are a little pricer but worth it. Definitely recommend this spot to relax after Sonoma valley. Pricing was almost criminally high -- and structured so that you have to buy a couple of bottles or else the exorbitant tasting fee is just wasted. I don't get the bad reviews for these guys - I'm going to chalk them up to "user error" and if you're reading this looking for a place to try on the Square, you need to try them. This is a long overdue review - we've been in several times and after our first experience we liked it so much we joined their club. All the wine is good, top notch and not something we bring out for just an everyday drink. What I like the best here are the people that work here. We have never had any issues with them and more times than not we end up staying to play bocce ball in the back enjoying a couple glasses. We visited tasting room in Petaluma recently and we were amazed by the friendliness of the stuff and quality of the wine. We planned to buy 1-2 bottles but at he end we bought more including Blue Dog Cabernet Sauvigno, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Franc. Most tasting rooms in Sonoma was rooms, where you stand at the bar, and sample the wines. Adobe has this, but then it also has a great back yard area with corn hole, and best of all, bocce. Adobe is also open a bit later than the other tasting rooms on the Plaza, so made for a great late afternoon spot. We set up for our tasting outside, and played a game of bocce while the person at Adobe was nice enough to make the trip in and outside to keep our tasting going while we also played our game. They are known for their Zinfandels, which are great, and we stocked up on a few bottles before leaving. Great spot, and a bit different than the traditional tasting experience. The wine is so good, I think those that work there tend to enjoy it a bit too! read more

I love wine. I really, really love good wine. Ergo I love this place. It is nestled in down town Petaluma. The wine keeps are down to earth, knowledgable and are will to have a conversation just about anything. But nothing takes away from the jewel of this: the wines. There are a great variety of wines for anyone's fancy and these skilled wine makers can challenge you to try things you usually think you don't like. In other words, step out from your "white/red only" stance and be a little more open to a rosé. Special mention to their Red Line. I blew the top off a car enthusiast's lid when he tried this at my house. As much as I travel and love on wines, few places do I have wine memberships to. I have never had a wine from here I didn't like, and many of them I simply love. While wandering around the downtown, we stumbled across the Adobe Road tasting room that had apparently just opened very recently. My friend and I sat down and did the red tasting since we are not white wine fans. We had such a great time talking and tasting that we stayed 2 hours. Delicious red wines, and very nice ambience. I've mentioned before in other Sonoma reviews that my trip with two of my girlfriends was this totally magical, memorable, serendipitous set of circumstances that meant doors kept opening and people kept showing us the best secrets of the town. Our visit to Adobe Road was no different. We woke up one morning and walked (read: stumbled, eyes half open, thank you HelloCello cocktails from the night before) to our hotel's breakfast room. We were sitting there chowing down with our hair still wet, makeup half on, and me still rocking my penguin pajama pants. It was in this state that we bumped into the owner of Adobe Road. Thankfully, he forgave us for our current state and after hearing we were in for the Sonoma Girlfriend's Weekend, he invited us to visit his tasting room when we had time. It turned out we had a few hours that afternoon post-winery tour, where we visited 3 other vineyards/tasting rooms in town so naturally, a fourth stop seemed ideal. Luckily, we behaved fairly well at the first three stops, and more luckily than that I was the DD so I actually remember visiting that 4th stop. But perhaps the most luck of all was that once we arrived here I no longer had to drive so I was able to taste their wine. So, if you purchase a bottle of wine here your tasting is free. Ahhhh, that's the good stuff. And since the bottles were very reasonably priced it actually really was a better deal to purchase the bottle than the tasting. So you know we had to buy some bottles! The wine was excellent. We opted for a flight of reds. I'm by no means a wine expert so I'm sorry I can't recount decent flavor profiles for you. But I am on expert on what I like, and I'll tell you their wines were big, flavorful and just what I needed to put the cap on a very perfect Sonoma afternoon. If this is what going out in public wearing my penguin pants brings my way, you can all expect to see a lot more of them from here on out... read more

I can't say enough about how good these wines are. My feeling is that anyone that loves good wine will want to be part of their wine club. I know that I wondered in on a whim after a meeting and was simply spell bound by the quality of the wines. Being a Cab guy I was quite interested in the quality of their Cabs. Oh My God!!!! They are completely off the hook. For those of you who are Zin lovers, I would not miss getting their 2015 Dry Creek Valley Famighetti Zin. It has light spice notes on the back end and oooh what a smooth finish. Anyway, this is a MUST DO, if you want to sample some great quality local wines in P-Town.
