Brandon was very helpful and friendly even at 11pm which was an emergancy as we forgot the keys to apt as we took our dogs out for a walk. ETA was 20 min but he came in less time. He didnt mind explaining and answering all of my questions as he tried two different methods to opening our door and the third method worked which he had to drill the knob but quickly and easily replaced with a new one no charge. So I made the really dumb mistake of locking the car before opening the trunk. I put my keys down to grab some stuff and closed the trunk. I realized I left my keys in the trunk as soon as I closed it. And it was late at night. I called another company for an estimate on how much it would cost. They said anywhere from $75-140. So I called this company and they gave me a flat rate of $75. It took the guy 25 minutes to get to my house, but he had the car door open in under 5 minutes! Very fast service and did not leave any scratches. Plus he was friendly! Total came out to be $78.53 after tax. I will definitely call them again if I ever leave my keys in the car! My Lexus transponder key decided it wouldn't work once I parked in an hourly metered parking garage Downtown. So, naturally I freaked out and called a bunch of locksmiths who don't service Lexus' (no way was I going to the dealership). You are to be commended. Fast and best price of three that responded to my (yelp generated) email. In fact, one of the three responses did not give price. In addition, I like your appointment system so that I do not have to wait in line. You took 15 minutes to make the key. I needed to have a duplicate ignition key made for my Highlander SUV. Above all, you freely gave me advice on digital lock for my front door (although seemingly of no benefit to you because you deal in keys), saying, among other things, that the later generation "deadbolt" locks were safer than wifi locks which were easier to hack. You also advised me that lockboxes are not fail-safe which explains the reason I could not get into my own vacation residence lockbox which lockbox contained front and rear door keys. Needed a key last minute and they were able to make this happen in less than 10 minutes! Staff was quite friendly and extremely helpful. Lots of different size keys as well. They can even make key fobs for those with push to starts! Only issue I had was being charged more than I was told. Neither affordable, nor timely. I was quoted $125 for a lock change (re-key) and adding a deadbolt. The guy showed up almost an hour late. Suggested a better deadbolt. Needed to go back to the shop. He was grumpy as hell. Gone for at least an hour. Came back and seemed to take longer than the job entailed. Wanted to charge $385. I told him what the original quote was, and he said I changed the scope of work but would take $50 off. The reason the scope was changed was because of his recommendation. It didn't sound like a $200 change, but shame on me. I guess, for not asking specifics. It wasn't a complicated job for a good locksmith. Too long, too late, overcharged.
