Half ube half Jasmine Milk Tea
    Justin S.

After following their social media page for the past few weeks, I finally decided to try the famous Afters Ice Cream! As I walked in, I was shock to see no one here during a hot day. I lucked out since there was no line. I look through the menu and sample a few different flavors. I decided to get 1/2 a scope of ube brownie and 1/2 scope of jasmine milk tea. The scopes are huge! So I would recommend one scoop unless you can eat than two scoops would be good. The ice cream is delicious and I would say that this place would be comparable to the famous Salt N Straw. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a sweet treat. Looking forward to coming back and try other flavors!

I've been to 3 other Afters Ice Cream locations before, but this was my first time here. Location is in a shopping center with popular eateries and shops. This location's customer service is fine; nothing great, nothing bad. However, we all know we don't come here for that. It's for the ice cream! One scoop costs $5. A few of their flavors have bold colors like their signature Cookie Monster flavor. On this visit, I decided to try their limited time flavor, Strawberry PopTarts. Filled with crumbled mini pop tarts, strawberry jam, and I think their sweet cream ice cream base topped with more bits of mini poptarts. So good! Wished I had ordered 2 scoops instead. Side note, I noticed the black cups that hold one scoop seem to be leveled higher than my pop tarts cup (which was deeper). Maybe it's to give the illusion that you're getting "more" because the ice cream sits higher? Anyways. Ice cream was satisfying.

    Afters flakes.

I've been to other locations and really love the milk and cereal ice cream. The After's flakes are my favorite part. I always pay extra to get sides of that to take home with me. My usual is 6 extra sides of Afters flakes. Usually it's come in the ice cream cup that the 3 scoops come in. I ordered on door dash tonight and admit I'm pretty disappointed. I ordered my usual 6 sides of the delicious, buttery flakes. What I got is pictured below. One of them was just spilled in the bottom of the bag. So the 5 remaining all look like this. Half filled, little cups. Each costs $.75. So i paid $4.50, which normally I have no issue paying for, and tonight, I got 5 tablespoons worth. They are in the little plastic cups you get salad dressing in at a restaurant. The ice cream was good. But I always get the same thing. I also ordered the peanut butter jelly to try. Packaging was decent. They staple the bag so you know it wasn't tampered with. I do appreciate that.

    Milky bun

I guess the big hype is the milky bun, I mean it's good, but kind of a lot for just one person, probably best to share, other than that, kinda just your average ice cream spot with different flavors and a little pricey.

    jasmine milk tea

The best flavors your palate will ever experience. Here's the run-down on my favorite flavors: 1. Jasmine Milk Tea: The color is gorgeous, first of all. Its beautiful shade of lavender makes you want to try it without even knowing what it is. Jasmine tea is supposed to be a light, fragrant tea, and that is exactly what this ice cream is. It's light, refreshing, and perfectly delivers the jasmine tea experience. 2. Vietnamese coffee: This one is a flavor bomb. Literally the second it hits my tongue, my mouth explodes with the rich, creamy, caffeinated taste of Vietnamese coffee. I don't know how they do it, but Afters totally captures the dynamic tastes of this drink. 3. Mango sorbet: Super refreshing! It tastes like it's been scooped straight out of a mango. It's not too tangy, and it's not too sweet. It hits the spot when you're in need of something fruity. I love to add their mochi topping, whatever flavor ice cream I'm getting. The mochi is always soft, sweet, and fresh. If you get your ice cream in a cone, they're also kind enough to put your mochi in a cup on the side so that it doesn't fall off your cone. Lastly, how can I write a review for Afters without mentioning their famous milky bun? The milky bun is basically an ice cream sandwich with two glazed donuts as the bread. There's nothing like steaming donuts with a refreshing scoop of creamy (or fruity!) ice cream. The milky bun doesn't look like it, but it's super filling. It's a whole meal.

In same plaza as Honey Sushi and Grocery Outlet
    Vic C.

New location in this ice cream chain, opened on June 30. Found in the same plaza as Regency Cinema and The Habit, specifically next door to Honey Roll & Sushi. Afters Ice Cream is best known for their milky bun, which is a scoop of ice cream served in a sliced donut. I first tried Afters in Long Beach, off of 7th Street (by Long Beach State) and thought the milky bun was a very decadent dessert. The unique ice cream flavors that they had on hand was good. You can get ice cream served to you in a cup, cone or in a split donut. Anyways, my husband and I decided that we wanted to grab some ice cream for our weekly date night 2 Sundays ago. We came in just before 6 pm. It was empty, but we were greeted by an employee behind the counter. The set up inside here is kind of odd. If you enter through the front entrance, you are in front of the register but this isn't where you order. The line to make your order actually starts on the side of the display case. While we ate our dessert here, we saw other people just standing in front of the register and the employee had to direct customers to the side (I wonder how many times a day an employee has to do that). After looking over the menu board, we ended up getting: 1 scoop of milk & cereal, $4.50 includes tax- Cereal topping comes with this flavor. Cereal toppings to chose from include Cinnamon Toast Crunch, After flakes (just sweetened corn flakes), Fruity Pebbles, Cap'n crunch and Cookie Crisp. I opted for the After flakes. I had my scoop in a cup because I just know that with a cone, I will most likely just make a mess. The milk ice cream itself is sweetened cream. It was good and went well with the cereal. But I think I would prefer for the cereal to be unsweetened since the ice cream is already sweet. Milky Bun, $6.50, including tax: jasmine milk tea with mochi topping in an unglazed donut- When we came, the girl behind the counter told us that we would have to wait 10 minutes for a glazed donut but they do have glazed donuts ready. I didn't know that an unglazed donut was an option because I personally think the glazed donut with ice cream is just way too sweet (when you get older, you just can't tolerate as much sweets). My husband ordered this (but of course I had a few bites. The benefit of being married is that you can share each others food). The jasmine milk tea ice cream has a real nice flavor that isn't too sweet and really does have that milk tea flavor. The mochi topping was a good choice to pair in this donut. ----------------------- (Total= $11, tax included) I love that the ice cream flavors we had were consistent with the ice cream we had at After's other locations. I was actually surprised that this Afters was not busy when we came (especially being so close to APU and Citrus College), especially it being a Saturday on a summer night. The location in Long Beach and Fullerton are almost always busy every time we have visited. What I really like about this location is that this place actually has seating. Only have been to the locations in Long Beach and Fullerton, there is no seating, so this is a nice change. My husband and I enjoyed our dessert visit and will come back again in the future.

Came for a late night snack and both ice cream cups were fire my fiancé's was better then mine imo, like mine was good but when I tried hers I would've rather got hers then mine . Nonetheless the service and quality was great !

I've been to 3 different Afters locations in LA, and this one has had the worst service of them all. I came in about 8:30 on a Friday Eve, and things started off nicely. I came with my sister and we both tried a few flavors before settling, however once we ordered, that's where things went down hill. The girl behind the counter was friendly, but was distracted by other employees talking to her and high fiving/bumping knuckles...this wouldn't really be a problem, however we both had to repeat our orders at least twice to her as she couldn't seem to get what we were ordering. We both ordered milky buns, my sister wasn't even asked what kind she wanted(the server didn't ask and didn't offer whether to have glazed or un glazed) so she just defaulted to glazed with her. I then ordered my own, and specifically asked for un glazed, and yet still got a glazed one. The other times I've been to Afters I've never had anything to say negativity, but here I just left with a bad taste. If I'm feeling a milky bun, I'll most likely head to one of the other locations, maybe West Covina instead?

The lady that was taking the orders was hard to understand. She handed me a disheveled piece of paper and I pointed out an ice cream cone swirl with chocolate and vanilla, it was three dollars. I ask about chocolate dip she said yes six dollars. That seemed like quite a jump, but we want, what we want. I paid and ordered. What a mess! The cone did not come dipped. It looked like she scooped chocolate sauce on top and it ran down the cone everywhere. Also, because the chocolate was hot. The ice cream also was melting all the way down the cone. She quickly wrapped two napkins around it and handed it to me. I am telling you, it was a disaster. I asked for more napkins and she handed me one more. It was leaking so bad, that made it almost inedible. I did my best to eat around and control the mess. The chocolate was horrible tasting and clumped everywhere. I got up and threw it in the trash. Went back to the window, but she was nowhere to be found. After I got into my car to pull away, I noticed she was in a little side room sitting at a table. This really is unfortunate. My kids and I used to love coming to this place. Hopefully, this review will help them improve.

I arrived at Il Gusto (West Covina) on Monday (around 7:29pm). This location shares the busy parking plaza by 85 Degrees (West Covina). Fortunately, it was easy to find parking this evening. Staff is professional and helpful. Staff worked quickly, and staff answered all my questions. Line went very fast despite a group being ahead of me. As mentioned, I ordered the Medium Cup (2 Scoops - $8). I selected a milk chocolate scoop and a cookies-flavored scoop. Portion sizes are fair and adequate for its quality. The flavors are delicious. The milk chocolate scoop reminded me of rich, dark chocolate milk. Its consistency felt very velvety, and its strong chocolate flavor almost teetered towards chocolate brownie territory. The cookie-flavored scoop was very tasty as well. This scoop flowed smoothly, and I happily enjoyed the soft cookie chunks within. This had a milder taste, but it felt very satisfying. This gelato was not icy; rather, it had delightful flavors while flowing like chilled silk. Concerning ambiance, Il Gusto (West Covina) shows genuine effort. The location is very clean and well-ventilated (refreshingly chill). I also enjoyed the Elvis Presley music. However, the music was occasionally drowned out from the loud electronic buzzing/humming sounds from the kitchen's containers. Also, some portions of the walls and floors looked scuffed with black marks. Il Gusto (West Covina) is also fairly small. It has three reflective tables inside; customer-only restroom; and three nearby shaded tables outside. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Il Gusto (West Covina). Its prices are adequate, the gelato is a good quality, and the staff is hardworking & helpful. If nearby, I recommend. 4.6 out of 5

During my most recent visit, the outdoor temperature in my area was 103 degrees (like most areas), so this was my justification for loading up. I visited one of my favorite ice cream shops, La Michoacana. This shop is large, offers many of my favorite yogurt bars made with real fruit, has affordable prices, and the service from any of the employees is always top-notch. The overall atmosphere is cool and relaxed. Tip: When you buy five ice cream/yogurt bars of any flavor, you receive an extra bar for free. During my recent visit, I purchased one pistachio bar made with yogurt and pistachios, one walnut bar made with yogurt and walnuts, and my favorite of all, a yogurt bar with a slice of strawberry, kiwi, and mango. I LOOOOVE these bars BIG time! I am and will remain a loyal fan of this shop.

The place is bright, colorful, and smells like pure happiness. The staff moves fast but still manages to be friendly, and even when it gets busy, there's this fun little energy that makes waiting feel worth it. This time I got a dragon fruit agua fresca that tasted like vacation in a cup, and my sister got strawberries with Nutella that looked way too good not to steal a bite from. Everything is fresh, sweet, and hits exactly how you want it to. I love that you can grab ice cream, paletas, or take-home treats depending on your mood. And yes, they take Apple Pay which is perfect for people like me who never carry cash but always crave dessert. It's one of those spots that never misses...the kind of place you stop at "just for a minute" and walk out with three things you didn't plan to buy. Five stars all the way.
