Absolutely no SAUCE or SPICE or anything. We did not finish, threw it away. Ahi poke had limu but NO TASTE! Fish pieces were filled with stringy parts, no shoyu or TASTE! We did not finish, threw it away. Chicken had teriyaki sauce. Since the pokes were disgusting it made the chicken not worth eating either. $17.50 plus tax. Stop supporting places that don't put any love into their food! We are paying more for fast service rather than quality. So many other poke places around Kalihi. Wanted an all you can eat place since my husband and I hadn't eaten all day! We decided in All you can eat Sushi at Ahi and Vegetable in Kapālama. We got there about 4:30 and it was not busy at all. Since it was our first time there we were informed how it all works. Super fast, super efficient, super friendly (but not overly friendly) service. There was a good fish to rice proportions. My husband used the miso soup to add the rice to so he could have sashimi . The miso soup flavor was perfect but could have used some tofu. I did order the tofu and the were 3 small slices - no problem since you can order as much as you want! Shrimp tempura was super hot and crispy. The place was clean, there was lots of parking - just be aware that there is a lot of construction on Dillingham. We would definitely go again! read more

AYCE is not worth it unless you have a big appetite for rice. There's more rice in the sushi than fish. The selection isn't much and sashimi options costs extra. The quality of fish is disappointing. If you were to eat spicy ahi, spicy hamachi, and spicy salmon in blind tasting, you will not differentiate what fish you ate. Even if ate the fishes by itself, there is a lack of flavor. The fish may have been cut ahead of time and kept in the fridge for a few days. Luckily I didn't get food poisoning. I think drinking apple cider vinegar helped. I used to eat here a long time ago before they have an AYCE option. I thought it was pretty decent at that time. read more

We thought we were lucky to make the 6:30 pm seating for the AYCE dinner. Too bad we didn't arrive 15 minutes later or we could have saved a lot of money and avoided a disappointing meal. Service was slow, maybe they do it on purpose so you might get full eating and not eat as much, and can only order a few times before the kitchen closes. When we ordered the AYCE the waitress told us that we'd need to eat everything before we ordered more, and that we'd be charged for leftovers but could then take them home. Only water is included. The quality of the fish was mediocre, maybe they save the fresher and better cuts for the bentos. The hamachi sashimi (which you have to pay an extra $3 for, as with all sashimi orders) did not have any of the purple part. The hotate quality was okay but tasteless. The spicy tuna had wasabi mixed in, so not worth eating if you don't like wasabi. The salmon nigiri were good. The rice in the nigiri had barely any sushi flavoring. The handrolls were a good size without too much rice. Some in our party don't eat much sashimi so we got a few appetizers. The shrimp tempura were small but cooked well and not overdone. The veggie tempura were nice and crunchy, made mostly with onions with a few carrot and green onion slivers. The fried chicken and teri garlic chicken wings were ok but too salty. The agedashi tofu was basic with 3 cubes of tofu. If you like sushi rolls there were about 8-10 varieties you could choose from. But if you're here mainly for the fresh fish those are usually a waste of time and carbs. Next time I'd stick to the bentos for a quick meal, and would prefer to pay more for higher quality but less quantity of food. This was another reminder that you get what you pay for. I like Ahi and Vegetable in general. My go to is usually the salmon sashimi salad. But this time, we decided to try their AYCE option. I would say it's reasonably priced. There are a few items with an additional $3 charge, each time it is ordered. So I skipped those, because to me, it wasn't worth the extra charge. There's already a good selection to choose from. Best thing to order is any of the aburi nigiri. So good! Ordering is easy. They give a menu that you mark up with an expo pen and you just press a button when you've made your mind. During the time I went, we got our food within 10 minutes for each order. I got there right around 5PM. There was no wait! I definitely beat the dinner rush. Can't beat their quality and price. I got their salmon and hamachi salad which came with 6 pieces of salmon and 5 pieces of hamachi on a bed of salad. Their fish is so fresh and they give really decently sized portions. I love their dressing too. For $18 I was satisfied. We wanted sushi, and finally decided to give this place a try and we did their AYCE. This location is located in a plaza, we came during lunch time and there were a lot of cars but we were still able to secure a parking, I wish I took a picture of their AYCE menu. If you were compare this to AYCE outside Hawaii, you'd think the menu is a bit limited. That might be the case, but the quality outshines all the AYCE places I've been to. All the items we received were fresh! I also love how they give us a pitcher of water, so we can just help ourselves. They also have cutlery, napkins on the table. I love this idea, so you don't have to flag the waiter every time you need something. It is cheaper if you pay cash. I think it's a dollar more if you pay by card. But I feel like it doesn't matter because the food is totally worth it. We ordered different items but my favourites were the "aburi" items. We also ordered calamari, they were huge pieces and I'm glad we just did 1 order of that. We also got the spicy baked mussels, not a super fan of masago, but my husband loved it. And our waiter, super friendly and he's the one that recommended us the crispy beef jerky "the works" flavoured! This is also a must try! I would definitely be back here!!! Always liked the food from Ahi & Vegetable. But our service yesterday was not good at all. My daughter and I went in this store to "dine in". As soon as we sat (mind you we were the ONLY ONES in there, they weren't busy at all). No one asked us anything or greeted us and made us sit at the table for a good 5 minutes, until I finally got up and walked to the counter and said "are we going to get serviced?" And the two Asian girls (in particular) who were just standing around gave us a snobby look and just said "dining in on the regular side or AYCE?". [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, the table we were at was not wiped or cleaned because there was a receipt on the table from the previous customer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another little older nice lady came and wiped our table and another nice girl came to serve our food. For starters, the restaurant closes at 8 but they stop seating for AYCE at 6pm. And they stop serving for it at 6:45. It says "home of the freshest" on their wall but their food is definitely not fresh. It looked like it was either thawed out or multiple days old. I felt sick immediately after eating my first round to the point I couldn't even eat the second. The calamari was dry and chewy, almost inedible. The Unagi was flavorless and watery. They add an absurd amount of rice to seafood ratio. The only good things they served were the imitation crab and the miso soup which are pretty hard to mess up. The service was non existent. They gave us water, a menu, and then a bill. Never asked if we wanted anything to drink or even explained the AYCE process. And multiple of there items cost extra in order to add to the already $35 per person bill. Not worth it. If you're looking for an actual good AYCE sushi place go to KATS sushi. read more

Heard a lot and had to try the AYCE for myself. We got super lucky that it wasn't busy when we got here so service was quick. But even when the place was filling up, staff was still on it. Food was fresh and great, considering some AYCE sacrifice quality for quantity. Rice to fish ratio was also good (not trying to overload the rice). Presentation was also a nice touch. Came here for dinner and it did not disappoint at all! It was $35 per person for a casual all you can eat and it was well worth it. Your entire party must do the AYCE option, otherwise you have to order ala carte or take-out. The quality of the sushi was fresh and delicious. Our favorite was the hamachi! There are handrolls, aburi, nigiri, and gunkan sushi options, rice bowls, soup & salad, and deep fried foods. Also note that some sushi choices are an additional $3. We also tried a couple of their deep fried & sides and they were all really yummy. I especially liked the vegetable tempura and seared mussels. Ordering is quite easy as well, you are given a menu card to mark the quantity of each food item you want. The service was also really attentive and friendly. Btw, make sure you don't over order because they charge extra for any leftover food. And it's a couple dollars cheaper if you pay with cash. Do not come here for the all you can eat, it was pretty gross. Most of the items didn't look fresh, quality was subpar, and the servings of the rice was unusually big, which they probably do it intentionally. The calamari was extremely chewy to the point where it was inedible, we had to send it back. The salmon, hamachi and ahi were not too bad if that's all you want to get, but if you were to get anything else on the menu don't even bother. AYCE sushi! The price is pretty reasonable especially for Hokkaido (big) scallops, as most AYCE sushi gives the small bay scallops. I liked the aburi salmon and aburi scallops a lot. We were craving sushi lately, and decided to check this place out for the first time since we heard they have AYCE (about $34 with cash and $35 with card). We came in little after 3 on a Friday, and it was not crowded at all. The two young workers were friendly and sat us down promptly. It was pretty cold inside, so make sure to bring a jacket so you don't freeze like me lol. The quality of the fish was very impressive, it tasted fresh, and the presentation was on point. I really liked their shoyu ahi poke as well as the aburi salmon. They also offer you hot miso soup at the beginning which was too salty for my family, but I like salty, so I enjoyed it. They have all you can eat sushi & let me tell you they did not disappoint it was worth it their quality is A1 especially for the price it was pretty affordable for what you get. The Ahi literally just melts in your mouth like butter, and the sashimi slices don't play they were thick just the right amount our favorite was the scallops. Food presentation was clean & the restaurant itself is clean. Theirs a lot of parking so you don't have to worry about finding parking. Workers were amazing, the service was quick. I had read that Ahi & Vegetable had an AYCE sushi night every Monday & Tuesday from 4-8pm for just $38, so off I went to check it out! I arrived around 3:45pm and I'm glad that I got there early because I was able to get a table. By 4pm, every table was filled and people were waiting for the first round of customers to leave. I hate to bring the stars down but if you're looking for quality sushi, this isn't it. I should've known that from the price. Let me add that the price is not just $38. If you select certain sushi (like the aburi), it costs $1 more. They have a list of appetizers and sushi to choose from, and you must eat it all before moving on to the next round. I ordered everything that I thought I wanted during my first round, as I suspected I'd have to wait a long time for the 2nd round. They have a bell on the table in case you need anything, but I never had to use it. I only ordered various nigiri sushi (who has room for apps?) and it took almost 25 min for my sushi to arrive. I put my order in first, and was one of the last to get my order (and I probably had the smallest order). The server seemed pretty clueless about how things worked, so I suspect that she was new. One of the other workers seemed like a sushi boss, scolding her for making mistakes. As soon as my 2 plates of sushi arrived, I knew I had made a mistake going there. The fish was definitely not fresh (it tasted like previously frozen fish) and the amount of rice that they included was ridiculous. It was like double the amount that they should've used. And it certainly wasn't sushi rice. Unfortunately I wouldn't return for AYCE or any of their other items. read more

I experienced incredibly bad service during the visit. Servers ignored us when we rung the bell several times over the course of 5-6 minutes, even though we could hear the ringing. When they came over, I asked the server if the button was broken, which could explain them not coming over when the button was pressed. The server pressed the button and said, "no, it's working" which indicated that they didn't respond on purpose, considering that most of the restaurant was empty at that point and no one else had called for service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was nearly cleared out by 7 pm and the workers had started to stack away the dine in chairs. Despite their supposed 8 pm close.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] FYI, their all you can eat last seating is at 6 pm now. The all you can eat times have changed in the past week, with no indication online on their website/instagram, which I had spent ~10 minutes looking through prior to coming because I wanted to make sure I arrived before last seating (I knew they are inflexible with their seating time). I arrived 10 minutes after 6 pm (the new time) and they were very unsympathetic, and brushed me off, saying that it was all over their social media (it wasn't). Lack of response (just chatting to coworkers) in an empty house, and general lack of care for customers was the main takeaway from my experience dining here. read more
