Teriyaki chicken bento box with egg rolls

Went here on a Saturday with about a dozen other women, we had made reservations for our group. Ambiance was pretty basic, but looked clean and somewhat modern. There were only a few other customers in the place as we went shortly after they opened. Our server was unexpectedly quiet, no greeting, no menu suggestions and was not in any hurry to even grab us all water. Once we had water, there was no offer to take our orders. A few of us were starving! She would walk past our table, as if to check on us, but nothing was happening. We finally spoke up and said, "can we order please?" When she realized our group wouldn't be using all the tables they had set up for us, she took the time to break down those tables instead of taking our orders. Food arrived within a good time frame, and the presentation was gorgeous, the miso soup and side salad were both delicious. Now, I am not a sushi person, so I can't speak to the quality of that, but it sure looked pretty, and all the gals gobbled it up. I ordered the teriyaki bento box, and I enjoyed it, but they do give you mostly dark meat chicken. The egg rolls were delicious! She cleared our dishes and was able to honor separate checks, and because we were a large group, a 20% tip was automatically added. I understand that completely, but I also think it should be mentioned. Many double tipped as they were not really paying attention and I know, that is on them, but when you're with a group and everyone is talking, it is easy to overlook. This was a group meetup, and although there was nothing horrible about this lunch, it's just not going to be a place I go back to.

I loved how fresh and high quality this sashimi was. The texture was silky and smooth, with a natural sweetness that made each bite so enjoyable. The fish had a clean, pure taste with no overpowering flavors, making it perfect on its own or with a little soy sauce. It was an unforgettable meal.

2 pc NZ Salmon Nigiri, Sunshine roll and a custom one I can't remember the name

This place is tucked into a low traffic area, but had some of the best sushi Ive had. Clean, fresh, and vibrant flavors were packed into every bite. The rolls had unique sauces and flavors and were all very tasty. I'm a big salmon lover and their New Zealand salmon sashimi was extremely fresh, buttery, and flavorful. Our server, Jen, was amazing. She was working with a kitchen that was backed up due to the Friday evening dinner rush and she handled it with a tremendous amount of grace. She brought us a complimentary appetizer for the wait and was also looking to make sure what she did have control over was taken care of, like drinks, dessert, etc. We are definitely going back again.

Pizza roll, Kalani roll and can't remember the one on the right but it was our favorite.

We came on Monday night. It was pretty busy for this small establishment. They had signs posted to bear with them through their shortage in staffing but we had no issues. Our server was very kind and attentive. The rolls we had were all delicious and fresh. We ordered three as well as miso soup (very good!). The seaweed salad wasn't the best I've had but pretty good. The fried ice cream was huge which we shared and couldn't even finish. Overall a nice night out.

Finally got to try Ahi, and must say, good service, good food, reasonable prices. Definitely will be back. Went in at Noon on a Tuesday, place was empty. We must have been the first customers of the day. That part seemed odd, but the service was attentive. We had a couple of "off the menu" rolls S.O.B an another one I can't remember. Both were spicy, one had jalapeño and cilantro (hardly traditional Japanese). We also started with their Miso soup (quite good, I learned to love Miso soup when I used to travel to Japan, so it is always a must have for me.) We also had a tempura appetizer that was also pretty good, though I think Fujiyama has much better tempura. I will definitely be back if in need of Sushi in the Eagle area. read more

Hands down the best sushi joint in the treasure valley. Been coming here since they opened and they are by far the best in town. They have their own lemonade recipe that is amazing as well. I won't eat sushi anywhere else!!! read more

I love the food here! Came to this restaurant on a whim because it was a new sushi place I hadn't tried before. Ended up getting the bento box and loved it! Went back a second time and it was just as good. The miso, egg rolls, and katsu chicken are all great! The gyoza was good but was delivered a little cold. It had a nice crispy bottom, but just must not have been cooked quite long enough since they were busy. Still tasty though! The sushi isn't the best in the area, but was still absolutely delicious! read more

We go here every two weeks. My husband and son always get the Philly and Crunchy Rolls. I vary from time to time depending on my willingness to try something new. We always have the edamame. Tonight I had the Volcano and Salmon Rolls. Loved the Salmon Roll. I wasn't expecting the Volcano Roll to be warm so that threw me off. I'll stick with hand rolls or the sashimi. read more

By far my favorite place in the valley for sushi! The quality and freshness is amazing and the environment is awesome! I have an allergy to gluten and they are always so awesome in making sure they don't use gluten in and if the rolls they make for me. Soooooo good! read more

Before ever coming to Idaho, I was repeatedly told that there's two great places for lunch within walking distance of the Eagle office. One of these two is the ahi sushi bar. I must admit, I was rather skeptical about the idea of sushi in Idaho. I had really not seen much of the US outside of San Francisco, New York and portions of LA. I love sushi and when sushi is bad, it's....quite bad. Incidentally some of the worst sushi I've had was actually around LA. Ahi was such a great discovery. read more

Best Sushi I've had in Idaho. I'd give 5 stars but feel like they could mix up their lunch menu items and add another combo option including maybe 1/2 rolls. I went to a place in Huntington Beach recently and they had half roll options included in their Bento Box combo's - made it more affordable to try different things and as a solo luncher, that helps because you can't share and sample different rolls with your buddy when on your own. read more

We ordered take out from here for our Anniversary. We just wanted to spend a night in and decided to pick this up on my way home from work. Delicious! We had no complaints. The katsu was pretty meh. Not anywhere as good as Mo Bettah's which is what we are used to. What was really good was their sushi. Big fan of their tempura fried rolls. Their pork Gyoza was also delicious and my husband LOVED them. The tempura fried vegetables were also a hit, but tasted like everyone else's. They took only 15 min for the food to be ready which was perfect timing for us. When picking up the food the place didn't look too busy and decor was very modern and inviting. Not like many other quick sushi joints that are run down and outdated. read more

We finally got around to trying Ahi! I've had friends for years rave about this place. My husband and I love sushi and we were impressed. They have a good variety of rolls with unique combinations and it was delicious! My only complaint is it's a little pricey and a couple of the rolls we got were small but we will be back nonetheless! read more

I think this place is good. The sushi is good, the atmosphere is good, the staff is good. I've eaten here a few times and although I think there is better sushi in the area, I don't think you will be disappointed eating here. read more

Service was okay. The roll I had was excellent in terms of flavor and quality, though definitely on the high end, price-wise. Two of my coworkers got the spider roll and I felt bad for them when the waitress brought their plates out; the serving size was pitiful. I ended up sharing a piece of my roll with one of them and I think everyone left the place $15 poorer and hungry. read more

It's been awhile since I have been here, and I am not sure why as this place is great. Came in on Tuesday to take advantage of their 2 for Tuesday specials, and I was quite happy. 2 for 1 draft beer on a local pale ale, and 2 for $22 on their Ahi Favorites. Our waitress recommend the A-Bomb and it was amazing. I also ordered the Volcano, and I was not impressed. I should have followed the prior reviews of others regarding this roll, but my wife wanted it so of course I ordered it. Anyway, service was great, and I will definitely go back. read more

Slightly over priced and undersized rolls that lacked good presentation and any wow factor. The crunchy roll wasn't crunchy and the volcano roll lacked fire. Our server was very nice but I have no reason to return. I leave disappointed. read more

Had the BEST service tonight!! We eat here from time to time and usually sit at the bar because we know Daniel and Randy and enjoy catching up. It was the night after thanksgiving and we showed up during happy hour with the family and sat at a table. Our server...who's name I can't recall...was the blonde young woman who has a 15 month old baby!! She had a great sense of humor...helped us customize a roll for my shellfish sensitive daughter and even ran out to catch us before we left the parking lot because we forgot our box of left over sushi. I hope Randy knows what a gem she is!! Our food was great, as usual! Your excellent service was appreciated! read more

Everyone here was really nice and our waiter was attentive but the wait for 2 rolls was a bit long and the rice to fish ratio was a bit high for my taste HOWEVER it's a nice establishment and people seem to love it so I'll try again sometime! read more

Excellent dinner, very fresh! We try to sample sushi while traveling about so while in the Boise area we came here to Ahi. Our server, Kendra, was perfect. Very attentive and friendly. We had several different items, miso soup, tempura, several rolls like the Volcano and was quite impressed. This is Seattle quality with Boise prices. Give them a shot and ask for Kendra. read more

Best sushi in the area, in my opinion (obviously). You definitely get what you pay for here. It is VERY pricey but the rolls are always prepared with care and look nice and taste amazing. The triumph roll is by far the best, tastes so fresh. The reason I docked a star is because you could definitely get sushi cheaper elsewhere if you are wanting. My husband and I paid $72, just on 4 rolls, a soda and a beer. So if your not into paying that much, go somewhere else. read more

Very fresh. It's Boise right? Big city sushi and small city prices. I saw a few reviews that suggested the prices were expensive. I had a beer, miso, volcano roll, 3 orders of nigiri for 37 bucks! Great chef. Great service. I wasn't a huge fan of the volcano roll but that's on me. read more

Just a wonderful place to eat. Full of deliciousness. We split edamame, stuffed mussels, and 2 different rolls. Everything was so fresh. Stuffed mussels were a new try for us and we both agreed that they are in the "must order" list from now on. We were seated promptly and the wait staff was pleasant. Took good care of us but it never felt like they were hovering. Ahi is a perfect choice for sushi lovers! read more

My favorite sushi restaurant in Boise! All their rolls are absolutely delicious. You can ask them to make them 'protein style' which is where they sub out the rice and add in crab meat instead. A great low carb, high protein option! read more

We have lunch at Ahi Sushi probably once or twice a month and is by far the best sushi we've had in Idaho. The sushi rice is impeccable, the fish always incredibly fresh and chef Daniel has some very innovative riffs on the typical sushi fair. In addition, he occasionally gets in some of the best fresh oysters I've had. If you're a lover of raw fish laid on top of perfect rice, this place is definitely worth a try. read more

Great sushi and we enjoyed the food. Very nice outdoor dining area and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Service lacked big time, while this place wasn't busy at all. We had to go inside twice to ask about our food. Waitress indicated that a large to go order was before us and that's why it took so long. Table the came in after us was served and gone before we received all our food. Won't be back due to the service. read more

stopped in on a whim as I just moved to town and it was close to the office. it's turned out to be my go to sushi spot over the last couple of weeks. I've had people take me to other sushi place in Boise and around the area but, this is so much more fresh. they have fresh fish coming in on the regular and everything has been great, especially the tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. I have never dealt with such atrocious service & their Sushi was subpar at best & that's being generous. Right out of the gate, it was a total disaster. The waitress brought absolutely nothing to the table--no utensils, no ginger, no wasabi, nothing. You know, the standard basics that literally every other sushi joint on the planet drops off on autopilot? We had to literally request every single item just to physically eat our meal. Then came the food--or whatever you want to call it. I specifically asked if I could swap tuna for yellowtail and asked about getting what I actually liked instead of just settling for "chef's choice." They completely ignored me & brought the exact opposite of what I ordered. Nothing we got was correct. My guest ordered a lobster and fish roll, and they handed her a plate of literal, unidentifiable mush. There were no actual pieces of fish or lobster to be found anywhere in it. Just mush. And the scam they pulled with the ikura was unbelievable. I ordered two portions, which is supposed to be four pieces total, which again is commonly standard at any other Sushi restaurant. Instead, they brought out two pieces. When I pointed it out, the manager actually came over to our table to argue with me, insisting I was going to be charged full price for half the food. Literally $5ea for 1 piece of Sashimi that tasted like shit. Outside of the painfully incompetent service and the manager's garbage attitude, the fish had no flavor, They didn't even bring out all the food we ordered, but we were so fed up and disgusted by that point that we just paid the bill and walked out. I don't know if this is how they run their business every single day, but it was bad enough to warrant this warning. There are plenty of incredible sushi spots around here. Do not waste your time or your money at this absolute trainwreck of a restaurant. I guarantee I will never step foot in this place again.

Out of the four rolls available, only one really stands out as worth ordering. A big bonus is the drinks, they're included in the AYCE price, and there's a huge selection, including Thai tea and milk tea, which is pretty uncommon for AYCE spots.

It has plain indoor table seating and there is a nice outdoor seating area in the center of the complex. The young woman taking our order was very nice and helpful. My wife had the prawns, chicken, fried rice, and vegetables. I had the teriyaki chicken with brown rice (they charge extra for that) and vegetables. The "vegetables" consist of a few pieces of broccoli and a whole lotta cabbage, which I passed on. My wife said that the fried rice was not really fried but steamed rice with some egg and veggies in it. The shrimp and chicken were cooked well and tasty. Expect to pay $12-14 for your entree, add a $1.50 if you want fried or brown rice. I'm glad we tried Happy Teriyaki, but I don't think we'll be back.

Sushi is always my go to food type for eating out and I've been to everything Boise and Eagle have to offer. Ahi is my favorite for both fish quality and roll selection. The yellowtail nigiri is amazing and a must order for myself and my husband. I also can't enough of their A - Bomb roll (yellowtail and samon with cilantro and avocado topped with a basil jalepeno cream sauce). The sushi bar has a fun atmosphere and the sushi chef's haven't let us down by serving their off the menu recommendations. read more
