Air Masters replaced our split AC 4-unit system with Fujitsu…read more After installation and over ensuing months, we noticed the main living room unit blowing less and less cool air after spending nearly $12k for the replacing the entire system. Other bedroom units were cooling fine. While initially cool air was coming from the main unit, it was gradually declining. Under their guidance, we got their annual maintenace service on this main unit. During this service, I informed the tech person of the inconsistent cool air and to check for possible freon shortage. He replied no need, that the freon level was fine, though I didn't see him check or use anything to conclude this way. While it did improve initially after the service (basically a pro cleaning), it gradually blew less cool air and eventually only warm room temperature air. I called again, this time requesting the original lead installer of the system to come diagnose/repair it. After about 3 hours of diagnosis and work, he concluded that this main unit lost a lot of freon (which he replaced), most likely due to fittings not being seated and tightened properly at the original installation, which would lead to freon leakage. Despite this assessment, he billed us $912!! We were outraged and he told us sorry, that he would talk to Kelly at the office about it and for us to call her (Kelly) to plead our case. We tried reaching her, left messages, but no return calls. I find it absolutely horrible that a business would take advantage of their customers this way. Basically, it was their installation mistake that gave us the freon leakage issue, yet we had to pay. No discount whatsoever was given for something that was their fault not ours. Please be AWARE!!

Installed within a week of giving the quote -- quick in and out, super clean install. Unit is super quite, looks clean on the outside, put up on pedestals to keep off the ground. I decided to contact the installer because the time from on to AC blower actually working exceeded 5 mins. I contacted KW on Aug 4th and they slow rolled me until finally showing up to look at the unit on Aug 19. The technician left saying he contacted the manufacture (Rheem) and he would get back to me. Well today, Aug 20 my system is completely down. I called KW again and they said they would order an electrical board and fan motor. Overall service response time has been POOR and now I'm out of AC for who knows how many days until the parts arrive. If they would have simply responded to my request for service at the beginning of the month I would not be without AC.

It was feeling not quite as cold and the fan seemed like it was working a little harder, so I wanted to get it cleaned before the hot summer months hit! I *hate* making phone calls, but the receptionist was SUPER nice, so that immediately put me at ease. Their quote was flat rate and very reasonable so I was happy I wouldn't be guessing how much it would come to at the end. She apologized for not being able to get me in the week I called but was able to fit me in the next week - which was faster than I had expected! The technician came at the quoted time and took about an hour, which is how long they had told me on the phone. It says something about other companies on island that this is a noteworthy comment! He was very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. He showed me the visible spots he had cleaned, but the best thing is now our AC is back to being icy cold - I had to bump it up to make it warmer! - and it smells nice and clean. I paid in cash (there is a fee if you use card. You can also write a check if you prefer). We will definitely be happy to use this company again in the future!

Our understanding is was ether the refrigerant was low and possibility could be the compressor. So we decide to order another 18,000 btu again through the app. Next morning Brian called my wife first thing in the morning and asked when we wanted to pick up our unit, so professional and amazing guy. I picked up the unit and came home and swapped it out in 1/2 hour since the housing didn't need to be changed. The bottom line is we will not go anywhere elsewhere to get AC units just because how professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and caring Brian and his team are. hired Affordable Home AC to service my Fujitsu split AC unit. They diagnosed a bad motherboard and…read morecompressor, both covered under warranty, but I still paid a hefty labor charge for the repair. About 2-3 months later, the unit stopped blowing cold air entirely. I called both the technician directly and the company's main line multiple times -- no response, no callback, nothing. I had a second HVAC company come out to look at it, and they found the compressor was still leaking refrigerant because it hadn't been connected properly in the first place. Basically paid for a repair that was never done correctly, and now I'm out the labor cost with a broken AC unit again. The new company I called is actually doing the job right and fixing what should've been done correctly the first time. I've also reached out to Affordable Home AC again since getting this diagnosis and still haven't heard back. I wouldn't trust Affordable Home AC with your AC unit -- if something goes wrong after they leave, don't expect them to stand behind their work.
