I had a few questions regarding my policies, so I called into AIS. I was put on the wait queue, but only had to listen to that "music on hold" song for 1 or 2 minutes before getting connected to Erik Reeves. He was expedient in researching my questions, as well as letting me know where he was going as he was looking for a reference which was a nice way to state progress. He could have easily just stayed quiet, which can lead to anxiousness. He also mentioned a few programs that may also save me money in the long-haul, but even though I didn't bite today, they seemed something worth looking into, when I have more time to discuss. So kudos to him, keeping the customer calm, and engaged, as well as educating on products in a non-pushy way. read more

I have been serviced through this broker and mercury insurance for most of my driving years; I am 49. I was canceled at midnight on the date payment was to be received because I had to shop around for other insurance for my daughter since my rate went up and she had a couple of claims. instead of getting back to me as requested so that I could cancel her from my policy they canceled me altogether how nice after all these years. Very disappointed in my experience and service as of late. I've been with AIS getting Mercury insurance for number of years and have always paid on time. This last month my payment must have not gone through for my 6 month premium on my and my 2 cars and I was not sent any coorespondence that it was past due, or that it'd be cancelled soon. Liittle did I know my Fiancé and I were both driving uninsured cars for 2 weeks! Last night I got an email that my policy was cancelled!!! I tried to go and pay again but their sytem wasn't accepting payment. I tried calling but it was after business hours. First thing this morning I called to reinstate my policy and was told that they'd have to write another policy and couldnt reinstate my previous. Not only would I not be able to have a car policy for 20+ days but my new 6 month primium would go from 1,095.00 to over 4k!! We're talking 4x the price I'd previousy locked in just 2 weeks prior. There was no understanding on the agent's part and 'nothing they could do.' I'm now shopping around in a scurry as both my fiancé and I have no car insurance and have to use our cars. I've been surprised at how much I was being price-cornered and gauged by Mercury/AIS. I've never felt like the prey of insurance companies until now. I hope someone on AIS staff who has some sort of seniority sees this and can repair this egregious blunder. I will not be using AIS or reccomending it to anyone ever again if they cant repair this. read more

The service at AIS was pretty solid over a year ago but the current representatives are regularly slow, inattentive, apathetic, exhausting, unhelpful and unprofessional. I've experienced hang ups, long wait times, miscommunication, discrepancies and lack of support from representatives that have no information nor knowledge of the intricacies pertaining to my policy. The current AIS team is not solutions oriented. Jim Trok is the Director of Customer Service, and as such is very petty, nasty, unprofessional and has an overall negative disposition. I'm unsure what has transpired in the last year, but my usual AIS contact is no longer there and the service has gone downhill drastically. I'd recommend everyone to find another agency. Representatives are hypersensitive, deceptive, uncouth, unprofessional, not knowledgeable and lack training and expertise. It is reflective of Trok's leadership or lack thereof. I do not recommend. BEWARE! Definitely check your policy before signing. I had an additional charge for an auto club membership that was not disclosed to me and was not something I had asked for. I called back and was told I needed to call back. I called back and was rudely told that it was a requirement of the insurance company. Then I spoke with Maria the Manager who was actually nice and understanding and she said de would resolve the issue, which is the only reason why I'm giving even 2 stars. She did correct the issue but then didn't send me an itemized revised quote. When I called back to get an itemized Receipt I was told I would get one once I signed the unedited quote. I told him that I didn't feel comfortable doing that and would need to be provided an new agreement before signing. I don't think that this is too much to ask for but was told told I was rude and the hung up on me!! Literally worst customer service. I do not recommend and will not be continuing a policy with them. read more

They take your money and you are on your own. They quoted me for my policy and signed me up. 3 months later my payments double. It took me 4 months to figure out what had happened. The insurance company re-ran our records and said a comp claim was reported as an at fault injury accident. AIS said my problem to prove! I am still going through hoops to get it straighten out and trying to get a refund on the policy. Every time I have called AIS for guidance it's the same story, we don't have control you'll have to take care of it. They didn't inform me that my rates went up, they had no idea my rates went up. They didn't know how to find out why my rates went up. I HAD TO CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY to get all the information. Talk about being a number! AIS put me in a policy with Mercury Insurance knowing that they have been sanctioned by California Department of Insurance several times and when I tried to call and get help with unfair practices, they fell back on "This is their policy and practices, not on us" Wow! If this happens to you, fike a complaint with California Department of Insurance on both companies. I did and we have to stop the unfair practices of these Insurance companies. We had Mercury Insurance and our Annual Premium was going to go up more than $700 with no car accidents and no tickets so we gave Cheryll Guesno a call . After 30 years of doing business with them their rates have over doubled. The customer service is incompetent. We were on the phone with them several times over a couple of hours to jump through their hoops to try to lower our rates. We gave them all the readings they wanted and so we called back today and they said no one signed us up for the program but if we wanted to give them the readings again they could sign us up for the program. We just gave them the readings 3 weeks ago and he said yes he sees that but no one signed us up for the program. I will be changing our car and homeowners insurance and never doing business with these companies again. To top it off I asked for a supervisor and somehow I got disconnected from them and no call back from them. read more
