Vietnamese coffee with milk (bac xiu version): It was not made over sweet. I was able to adjust the sweetness after taking a sip. The coffee strength is just right for me - medium to strong. Taste: better than many Vietnamese coffee shops. I highly recommend this coffee and the egg coffee. Non-meat skewers (tofu and quail eggs): yummy. Thumps up for not having excess oil on the plate. Crispy egg noodle with seafood: good portion and very yummy. There were more carrots than cabbage. It would be better to have some more cabbage. Overall, this dish is great. Food quality is consistent every time I visit. I am provided a bill with breakdowns. The good restaurants would let you see the breakdown of the charges. A hidden gem in the Evergreen area of San Jose. The place is clean, the food is super delicious and the staff is cordial. We had the korean beef on rice, my companion had the grilled pork on vermicelli and our appetizer was the baby clams. The clams were a little spicy but it was yummy. The honeydew with coffee jelly was sweet but paired well with my meal. It is our first time to try this restaurant and we will be coming back for sure. read more

How thoughtless can you be... stooping that low, being that unforgiving to a new restaurant of individuals who must've worked SO hard to even open their doors that Grand Opening day!? Well, my love and I dined there 2 nights ago, just a couple days after opening... and both of us SO appreciated everything these folks have accomplished in just a few days! In a difficult, somewhat hidden physical location, I'm thrilled someone is willing to take a risk again here, give us a really lovely dining alternative (a varied Asian fusion menu, with a focus on Vietnamese fare); and do it with the kind of beautiful grace steeped in this culture. I'm sure I'll write more later, I like to review restaurants when they've had some time to mature... and find their rhythm. But our 1st experience here was noteworthy anyway. My cubed steak (a shaking beef derivative) was very good; and Thao really liked her seafood dish. The Popcorn Chicken appetizer was tasty and fun (with a fantastic sauce) and the Heineken beer, and family style dining room made it a real comfy, post holiday, Friday night meal. I was really rooting for this place we all were rooting. Sadly I was really disappointed in service , cleanliness and wait time . We were the only ones in the restaurant, 3 of the tables still had dirty dishes on them the table we were sat at was so sticky that our menus were stuck to the table when you went to pick them up it sounded like Velcro, we moved to another table ! I know we should have got up and left but like I said I was rooting for it! It took over 20 min for him to come back out to us to take our drink order/ appetizer order ,30 mins after that to take our food order , our food came out before the calamari (8 rings) portions were slightly on the small side , their pickled dikon and carrots were warm and on the way sweeter side all are made different I know. I had the pho it was actually the only thing that was well portioned. The other three people I was with got meat orders with a side of rice all said the meat was fair. I just wish done in customers were a priority or at least make it seem like we are . I almost felt like we were forgot about. We ordered a Spring rolls and Popcorn chicken, lotus salad for appetizer. Main dishes were Beef cube rice for me, Teriyaki chicken rice and Crab fried rice for my friends. I came to San Jose from OC on a short visit. My friend took me to this Vietnamese restaurant. I tried Pork Chop with Rice plate and Egg Coffee as recommended by the server, Lam. The Pork Chop was outstanding. The flavor is exactly the one I had in Saigon. Sooooo goooood. Egg Coffee was the excellent. The balance in sweetness and bitterness of coffee and condensed milk mixed with creamy egg custard. Way better than the one I had in OC. Reasonable price with great service. Highly recommended. We went there on a cloudy day with full of curiosity about trying Vietnamese egg coffee and Vietnamese pizza combo, but it completely failed us. Vietnamese egg coffee was too sweet even though we stirred it well and no longer hot. This even never reached a small fraction of the level of Vietnamese egg coffee we tried in Hanoi years ago. The Vietnamese pizza combo combined of cheap ingredients you could buy at Walmart or Costco. But the worse thing was it was sticky to the paper plate. The paper plate is so cheap that they could use a better one to prevent it from being happened. I recommend anyone who wants to try this food, please bring your own plate. Didn't even get to try the food because the service was terrible. I am a home health nurse and I travel throughout the area for work. I stopped to order some lunch, but I prefer to sit in my car to eat. I asked to use a bathroom, the host declined my being able to use a bathroom even if I ordered a complete meal to go, stating that the bathroom was only for the patrons who sit inside the restaurant. I ordered their pork chop tray several times when covid was still in effect. The delivery fee depends on how much you buy and the location of your house. The meat was delicious: savory, slightly sweet, and a bit smoky-- just like the flavor you'd find in the streets of Saigon. They also accommodate personal requests, like if you want your pork chop to be on the dry side like I did. I came to dine-in yesterday and ordered a plate of pork chop rice, served hot. New restaurant in the area, empty on a Sunday night, especially on a Super Bowl day! I was the only one in the restaurant so services was quick and easy. It's in a empty plaza so I don't know if they will survive a year for choosing this location. I order the spring roll, sweet potato fries, kim chi fried rice, chicken wings fish sauce and popcorn chicken. I think everything tasted salty especially the chicken wings with the fish sauce and the kim chi fried rice. The popcorn chicken was too dried and overcook, I felt this was precook as it was cooked ahead of time already. Price was decent. They also have rices dishes, pho and hot pot. Overall, I choose this place because I was going to a church next door but I don't think I be back as the foods was too salty. read more

But when he learned that I only wanted 2 drinks from the restaurant, he switched up and said that I would have to wait for 45 minutes. I have ordered takeout and dined in at Ak Kitchen many times. I find the food they served to be very tasty and I have not been disappointed.
