Halibut & Chips....No bueno. I truly think we received cod and it tasted and smelled old
    Julie M.

Two stars. One for the nice lady. One for crispy and hot fries. Paid for halibut but got cod and it tasted and smelled old. Into the trash.

Delicious food with a great view.

5 stars! Hear me out. There are some reviews that complain about the fish being oily/ greasy. I mostly disagree with this. There is some oil on it when it's handed to you. Why? Because it didn't sit under a heat lamp waiting to be brought out to you. The fish comes from the fryer to a basket to your hands in seconds not minutes. Try doing it at home and see your results. The fish does not taste greasy or oily. It is perfectly coated in a delicious but not overpowering batter, that allows the flavorful, flaky white fish taste to shine through. This is fresh fish fry as intended! Nice crunch leading into the soft meat. The fries are good. Nothing spectacular but good. The seafood is the name of the game here. The other star of the menu for us is the coconut shrimp. Simply put, fantastic! Nice large shrimp coated in a coconut flake batter that adds just the right amount of natural sweetness and crunch. I'm not sure if they make the sweet chili sauce that comes with it but delicious as well. The pricing is very good! The people that are there make you feel welcomed. Be prepared because they want the food in your hands as soon as it's ready and they will call your name out quickly and loudly... needed to be able to here and to get back to cooking the next fresh batch of food. We travel full time. Have been in Birch Bay for about a month. We go to Blaine to fish and eat here. Yesterday was our 6th trip to this delicious place. Goi g to miss it when we leave the area, but rest assured, we will be back! Try it. You'll most likely love it!

The current 3.5 star rating belies the true excellence of this good trailer. There was nothing not to like. Both the cod and halibut were super fresh and well prepared. Halibut was indeed more expensive but that's what the market calls for. Service was fast & friendly, too and we had our food in about three minutes. Not sure about the experiences others have had but ours was truly five stars!!

Super delicious, great location, casual...just walk up the food truck and order. In a few moments, your number will be called and your piping hot food will be handed to you through the pick up window! Umbrella covered picnic tables, seat yourself... all condiments are next to food truck, help yourself! These people know how to make fish and chips! I definitely think my experience was 5 stars! The service was fast and friendly, we chose a nice table (they are ALL nice Hahah) and the weather was perfect.... Food was amazing!! Open 7 days a week at 11:30.. probably weekends are more crowded (we were here on a Thursday) . We'll be back!

Very good fish and chips served from a mobile trailer parked at the Blaine Harbor from begin May to end September. Alas today Is the final day for 2021 so we went yesterday afternoon, it was a large crowd so we had to be patient waiting for the tasty food. As they do not have a liquor license you may want to bring your own beer or wine. Always good size portions. Will definitely miss them till May 2022.

The whiskey crab bisque was perfect for the overcast weather. The fish and calamari were nice and soft. I will have to try the clam chowder next time.

Great food, great price, ambiance. They catch the fish in Alaska and bring it here, cutting out the middle man.

Nice little place to grab a quick lunch while the kids are on the playground across the street. Good food and lovely service.

Absolutely the best dish and chips I have had in the area. We can't wait each year when the open and are sad when they close for winter.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.

I can appreciate the freshness of what I ate. The fish was…read moreflaky and the batter had a good ratio to fish. The fries was good and everything else was good. I ordered the platter that came with a whole bunch of stuff including fried oysters, scallops and shrimp. A small place that can get pretty busy but worth the wait.
