Glad we came to this slightly out of town location. It was quiet when we arrived around 12:30 on a summer Saturday and was filling as we left. Large space inside and more out back. There was one food truck open during our visit. Friendly bartender, good beer selection and some non-alcoholic offerings as well for any non-drinkers or DDs in the group. Great visit! The sour was nice, as were the two non-alcoholic sodas I sampled. My husband particularly enjoyed the smoked porter.

Popped into Alaskan Brewing when we got off our cruise ship in Juneau. Sat at the bar and had nice, prompt service from the bartenders. I ordered a Spruce Cherry Grapefruit Seltzer, which was light and refreshing with great flavor. They had a large number of taps with their beer as well as a full bar and to-go beers. They also had a nice looking food menu with a good selection of seafood and sandwiches. They also had a large gift shop with a number of Alaskan Brewing merch. Would highly recommend this stop to anyone in port!

We stopped in the brewery on a rainy day in port during a cruise. I really liked their tasting room and the gift shop that had a lot of fun Alaskan beer logo merchandise, and we wished that we were able to take a growler of beer home with us! My husband tried a flight of several beers, and he enjoyed it. I had a green apple seltzer, and it was a refreshing different drink besides beer. They also were selling a house-made gin, but we had each already maxed out our duty-free alcohol allowance. We enjoyed a pizza from the nearby food truck with our beers. It was a fun visit and definitely worth the effort to get here from downtown!

If you're in Juneau and don't stop at Alaskan Brewing Company, the salmon will rise from the harbor and revoke your Alaskan privileges. Not necessarily because of the food, but absolutely because of the beer and views. Let's start with the fish nuggets...oh yes, fish nuggets. Not to be confused with chicken, or gold. These were pure, unfiltered seafood glory in bite-sized form. Were they a little dry? Sure. But that's just Alaska's way of telling you to drink more beer. We obliged. We're nothing if not respectful guests. Next up, the Caesar salad. A Caesar salad with pine nuts. Let me repeat that. Pine. Nuts. Whoever thought of that deserves a raise and probably their own floatplane. It was crunchy, creamy, nutty, and I'm pretty sure my wife made eye contact with her salad like it was a long-lost lover. Luckily, I'm not the jealous type. Now let's talk beer. Yeah, cold, crisp, and so refreshing I considered pouring it on my head like a shampoo commercial. The Alaskan IPA hits just right: bold but smooth, like if a lumberjack learned jazz piano. Pro tip: Add a bit of orange juice to it to make it a hoppy orange shandy. Perfection! But the real showstopper? The view. You're posted up in the harbor, watching the cruise ships glide in like massive floating buffets. It's part beer garden, part people zoo. Bonus points for the seagull that judged me the entire time from the railing -- 10/10 winged sass. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I order extra beer to rehydrate my fish nuggets? Without question. Would I move into the harbor just for the vibes? Tempting. Very tempting.

When in Juneau, it's pretty much a requirement to visit the amazing Alaskan Brewing Company, which has become an iconic American beer brand with their widely distributed brews like Alaskan Amber. In fact, they've become such a Juneau institution that they've opened up a separate beer hall in the downtown area. However, personally, I wanted to visit their mother lode location: the brewery located on the outskirts of town. And for this, yes, we actually rented a car! We arrived via cruise ship in May, and (after running a few errands), headed to the brewery. We got there right when they opened, so they weren't very busy yet. The tasting room is beautiful, with lots of wood and a ginormous Alaskan Brewing merch zone where you can get, well, just about anything you want with their logo. There were many items devoted just to specific beers. Did I almost buy an Alaskan Amber hoodie? Heck yeah! We were excited to try a few tasters before ordering a pint or two to enjoy before heading back to the ship. This is a must-visit brewery if you find yourself in Juneau!

We had a quick visit in Juneau and we're looking for a place to rest before we had an excursion. We loved the Alaskan Brewing Company. Everyone was so nice, great drinks, IPAs, and had a great app. I know they get busy, and they serve people from all over the world, and sometimes that can make waitstaff jaded, but our server was so friendly from the get go. We didn't sit on the patio, but it looked like an amazing place to spend a warm sunny day. And the inside was so clean, well decorated, and they had very clean bathrooms. Highly recommend this establishment.

Take a drive to Auk Bay and enjoy the view from the deck. Not sure what to order? I would recommend a flight. Our group stopped by twice while in Juneau and it was delightful.

Perfect spot for a quick lunch or drink at the end of the day! There's an inside area, a kind of garage area with exposed walls, and a full patio making for tons of seating. I was so surprised by the full food menu - the loaded mac n cheese was so good, even the salad and corn side were full of flavor! Of course great beer list as well as cocktails! I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area

Tip: They offer a free shuttle between downtown and the original location. Ask for Luke.

Nice stop after getting off the cruise ship. The beer was really good and we had some Halibut Bites and a pretzel which were delicious.

Stopped here for a snack and a beer and really enjoyed it. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, a fun ambiance, and REALLY good beer. I love IPA's, and thoroughly enjoyed the Icy Bay one. If you're stopping by Juneau, you have to try one. They also have a brewery tasting with a free shuttle- we didn't make the time but after having a couple beers I wish we would have. The beer cheese soup was alright, not easy to eat without ample bread.

The halibut tacos tasted fresh, but the beans and rice on the side were a bit underwhelming and could use some improvement. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The highlight, though, was the incredible view from the bar, with beautiful scenery overlooking the water and the mountains. Overall, a great experience, and I'd definitely come back.

We ordered 1 lb of king crab, the halibut fish tacos, and I paired my meal with an Alaskan Amber beer. Everything we came for was excellent. The king crab was fresh, sweet, and cooked perfectly. The halibut tacos were flavorful, with generous portions of fish, and the Alaskan Amber was the perfect local beer to go with the meal. The beans and rice that came with the tacos, however, were just okay. I didn't have high expectations for the sides, and they were pretty forgettable compared to the quality of the seafood. One thing that surprised us was how busy the restaurant was. It's a bit of a walk down the wharf, so I expected smaller crowds, but the place was packed. Despite arriving around 8:40 p.m., well past the peak dinner rush, we were seated without any issues. Even though they were still serving a full restaurant with other parties waiting, we never felt rushed, which we really appreciated. If you're in Juneau and craving fresh seafood, I'd definitely recommend making the walk. The king crab and halibut are absolutely worth it.

The ship was the epitome of modern luxury and the port cities catered to all the tourists needs. But at some point, I needed to get a little down and dirty, to get away from the crowds of visitors. To me, Alaska is still frontier, and I needed to experience just a taste of it. From the recommendation of a grizzled cruise staff, my wife & I found ourselves at the Alaskan Hotel and Bar, enjoying a pint and taking in small piece of history. While a few tourists did wander in, most of the patrons seemed local and knew each other and the staff. We watched from the far end of the bar and soaked in the atmosphere while enjoying our beers. Though there was a single acoustic guitarist playing from the stage, the bar was mostly still and quiet, a welcome respite from the throngs of outsiders on the street, veering in and out of the jewelry stores and tacky souvenir shops. Both of us needed this time to recharge, to enjoy a different side of Alaska than we'd seen, to be around normal people again. Does this bar have all the amenities? Are fancy cocktails the standard fair? Is the furniture new? All those answers are no. But the drinks are strong and the bathrooms are clean. And for a tired tourist, this is the most welcome sight.

The convenience of the location simply does not outweigh the poor hospitality and lack of customer care we experienced. I normally enjoy supporting small independent businesses like this one, but this stay has made me seriously rethink where I choose to spend my money going forward. Having stayed in both luxury hotels and unique properties with character, I know that basic professionalism and genuine guest care should be standard regardless of price or style. Disliked · Upon our arrival to this property we made our way to our room only to discover it was not the Family Loft with two queen beds we had specifically booked. Instead, we were given a room with one queen bed and a pull-out couch. When I returned to the front desk, I was told the booked room was occupied by a long-term tenant and unavailable. While I understand availability issues can arise, the hotel had been in direct contact with me through the booking platform's messaging system prior to our arrival and never mentioned this problem. It appeared they chose not to inform us, likely to prevent us from canceling. The pull-out couch was in poor condition, making it impossible for our adult family member to get a decent night's sleep. The queen bed was also uncomfortable, with our feet elevated in an awkward position. The window was broken and OPEN at least 2 inches. We did not expect a luxury resort, but we did expect the room type we reserved. Most concerning was the staff's response. Rather than showing empathy or offering solutions, they became defensive, blaming the booking company and stating the room had been unavailable for weeks. Since I booked December 6th, this lack of notification wasted our time and created unnecessary inconvenience. I politely requested compensation for just one night due to the inconvenience, which I believe was more than reasonable. Unfortunately, the hotel made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right despite my several follow-ups. Prospective guests should be aware: while the location may seem convenient, the poor communication, room inaccuracies, and indifferent customer service made this a frustrating experience we would not repeat. To make matters worse, the hotel was crazy loud until 3am due to the bar adjacent to the property, making rest nearly impossible. We will be visiting Juneau several times a year in the coming years with August 2026 being our next stay, sadly we cannot support this small business.
