What, we're rating Albertsons?? Isn't that just a normal grocery store? Maybe, but this one is hands-down the BEST Albertsons I have ever been to. It is always soooo clean, and it really is like twice the size of a normal Albertsons. Everyone elses positive reviews are spot-on, so I don't have much more to contribute other than don't be turned off by the outside which is not as pretty as the inside (faded paint). This is a shout out to the bakery gals: Jeri and Jen, as well as Alexis in the deli. I threw an epic Star Wars party for my 5 yr old son this past weekend with approximately 40 guests. Being the perpetually neurotic mom that I am, I debated quantities over and over again. All of these ladies put up with my indecision with stride. In fact when I called the day before the party and doubled my cupcake order, Jen was nice enough to let me know that they just got a shipment of Star Wars cupcake rings and she will just throw them on for me, free of charge! Also, I doubled my giant sub sandwich order the day before as well. Alexis had no problem with my demands. She just shrugged and smiled and said it will be ready 8 am sharp the following day, as previously set. The cake, cupcakes and sandwiches were all amazing in appearance and taste! I want to give a big THANK YOU to Lisa and Jennifer in the bakery dept. My daughter had a bridal shower in early June. 6 days before the shower the hostess called & asked if I would bring the cake. I called my regular bakery & they said they needed 2 weeks notice. I called a couple of others with same info( being so close to graduations, etc) I happen to be in Albertson's and asked if they do special cakes and they said yes. I spoke with Lisa and showed her a picture of a bride dress made from cupcakes; she said they could do it. I was at my last option and ordered it for 40 people. I told her my daughter had "bling" as decorations and I gave here some matching ribbon. Lisa was very informative and answered all of my questions. I stopped by another time right before the shower and Jennifer answered the remaining questions. The cupcake cake turned out beautiful and the guests commented how beautiful and unusual it was, Not only was it beautiful, but the cupcakes were delicious and fresh. The biggest surprise was the cost, it was 1/3 the cost of my usual bakery, and of the ones that couldn't do the cake. I would recommend the bakery and Lisa or Jennifer. Since moving to Fullerton California I have been an avid customer at Albertsons located at 1930 N. Placentia Ave located in the city of Fullerton, until last night, 9/17/16. I went in to the location to purchase watermelon, beer, and a bowl of cut mangos in preparation for an evening at home and I was accompanied by my fiancé. Over the years that I have been a local resident I have purchased from this store location approximately 2-3 times a week purchasing various household supplies, groceries, and even on occasion alcohol. Local to the Albertsons is Cal State Fullerton in which you can imagine the population to be predominantly young adults or college students. I, however, am not a college student. I am a 26 year old, young Hispanic woman, and I work a full-time job as a Licensed medical professional in which I wear a medical uniform (scrubs), am required to have natural colored hair, and maintain an overall clean and professional appearance. My fiancé is a 26 year old, young African-American man, and works a full-time job as an International Logistics Coordinator while attending online courses to obtain his Business Degree, in which he also is required to maintain a professional appearance. On this particular occasion I was not in my medical uniform, but was casually dressed, wearing a short sleeved shirt, jeans, and shoes while my fiancé was wearing something of similarity as he too had jeans, a shirt, and shoes on. After gathering a bowl of watermelon, a 3-pack of 24 oz cans of beer, and a bowl of cut mangos we approached the express line to make our purchase. As we approached the counter, an older Caucasian woman awaited, casting judgment, assuming on appearance of my fiancé given her eyes focused on him even though I was at the counter purchasing. She began to scan our items beginning with the watermelon, then mangos, and finally scanning the beer. I then presented her a temporary DMV issued license (which had all information listed including date of birth/age, height, weight, and also exp. Of 10/9/16) accompanied with my formal picture license i.d. (DMV issued) for verification. She looked at me and then picked up a phone to call a manager. Standing at the counter waiting without notice, I turned to look at my fiancé out of confusion, to see his facial response, which much like mine, was also characterizing confusion. All the while, there were 3 people waiting in the express line, over-exaggerating their exhale expressing their impatience due to delay. A few minutes later, a manager, by the name of Alma, stood behind the counter informing me in a stern tone that my form of identification was denied and I was not able to perform the purchase. Insulted, I calmly responded asking why there was an issue with the purchase and Alma said they could not accept any paper documentation for alcoholic purchases. I shared that I was informed per DMV that the documentation was sufficient as a form of identification until receiving a new physical card. Alma continued, and responded with saying that a DL is used for driving cars and is permissible only for that use. Despite being irritated, publicly humiliated, and racially profiled, I managed to maintain composure among the conversation with Alma. I then asked if I could purchase the watermelon and mangos and my fiancé would separately purchase the alcohol. At this point my fiancé presented a "current" California issued driver's license for identification and he too was denied the purchase. Well aware of laws inhibiting the distribution of alcohol, due to his formal education, he too became insulted, and determined that Albertsons was no longer deserving of our business at that final point. I thought that living in a diverse community would avoid the issue of racial profiling and discrimination, however, Albertsons and responsible persons involved failed to uphold a professional and non-discriminant behavior toward myself and my fiancé. Due to the nature of my concern, in an effort to bring to attention this event, I would like reprimand to be shown to all parties involved. No person(s) after us should be subjected to such discrimination especially when no wrong doing has been committed. I like the albertsons here because the place seems really peaceful as opposed to the overcrowded lines you find at certain places. Also, the freshly made chicken over there is just amazing. Been shopping here forever eventhough Ralphs is closer to the house, love the selection, prices, friendly staff. Today I accidentally dropped a $10 out of my pocket and turns out another customer picked it up and kept it. The store manager insisted on replacing the lost money, I am grateful for that, but since it was my own fault, I will end up donating that money to a charity on Albertson's behalf. read more

Watch out for the Cart Nazis in the parking lot. The store is nice, but I've run into at least two individuals lately that appear to be on a crusade to tell people to return their carts to the cart coral. I honestly never thought this was a problem and no one ever mentioned this to me in the past. But these two people felt it was their God given right to tell me what to do. Needless to say I will go ahead and return my cart in the future, but the larger issue here is the fact that people feel they have right to harass strangers in a parking lot for no legitimate reason. Unfortunately these experiences have tainted my feelings about this store, and I won't likely return. Congratulations rude people, you win again. read more

Went to the manager to complain about people approaching my wife/very small children and begging for money. She said they have received other complaints and have called the police but can really do nothing about it. This is completely untrue, they can take measures to assure the shopping experience at their store is at least safe for the consumers. I guess I understand it is hard to control that situation but at least try to act like you care even slightly. Done with Albertsons, I can spend $250 per week on groceries anywhere. Shop somewhere else unless you enjoy having someone sneak up from behind you, close enough to touch you and beg for money. read more

Definitely time to find a new grocery store..pronto!! Worst place to buy ur food, fruit or alcohol!! My husband bit into a green apple & ewww it had a worm inside..it was so disscusting..i had to run into the restroom plus the apple was rotten..gosh im so happy i didnt bite into it..i would of passed out lol Our T-boned steak smelled horrible..when i cooked it we couldn't even eat it...it was so expired & it hadn't even been one day that i had bought it!! When my husband tried to show his ID that was expired they didnt even accepted the extension papers from the DMV..I had to buy the beer & the beer case was wet & 2 beers were broken out of 12 that we had had boughten!! what a rip off..don't recommend Albertsons @ all!! worst grocery store to go to..i had the worst experience there, what a nightmare not just w my food but with everything else if i need to buy anything I'll definitely go to Walmart or target..I'm just trying to give you all some advice & safe some time for u all!! I went in to see what kind of smash cake and cupcakes they could do for my daughter's first birthday. The two workers in the bakery took for ever to even ask me if I needed anything. I then asked what the options were for the above mentioned cakes. They didn't respond and I just stood there looking at them. Then they said What... I said I asked you a question. They said well can't ear back here. (hello come to the front and help me!) I asked what the options were for cakes and they said what I see in the display. Since the display changes weekly/daily I know that is not the truth. I went to another chain and got treated so much better! read more

I have gone to this location before and the customer service was not as bad as it was during my last visit. I visited this store to buy a few items, including a Michael's gift card for $15, but I only saw some for $25-$200. So I had asked one of the workers restocking the gift cards if there was a Michael's card for $15. She told me that I could put any amount on the gift card. I verified, "So even though it says $25-$200, I could still put $15 on it?" But halfway through my question, she cut me off stating that any amount can be put on the card. So I just said, "Okay thank you" and went to go pay for my items. I needed to make two transactions. For the first, I paid with my Albertsons gift card. For the second, I paid with cash. Before paying for anything though, I had asked the cashier if I could put $15 on the Michael's gift card despite it saying $25-$200. She also cut me off and told me yes. I was getting frustrated that both of the workers did not listen to my full question, but I went ahead with the first transaction. When paying for the items with my Albertsons gift card, the cashier asked for the numbers on the back of my card, so I handed my card to her so she could input it into the system (which she inputted incorrectly). I (along with the other customers in line who were looking at me impatiently as if I was the one who was at fault) had to wait until the cashier called someone to do an override. This time, she inputted the numbers correctly and my first transaction was done. For my second transaction, I told her that I wanted to put $15 on the card. She took my $20, but as she scanned the Michael's card, it did not go through. She thought something was wrong with the card, so she asked a worker to get a new one. At this point, the manager came over, figured out why it was not going through, and told me that the amount had to be $25 or more. When I tried explaining to the manager that two of the workers told me that it could be any amount, she ALSO cut me off and did not listen to me. At this point, I was infuriated and felt disrespected as a customer, but I tried keeping my calm demeanor. She asked if I still wanted to purchase the gift card and I said, "Yes, I'll add $10 more." The manager continued working with the register and asked the cashier if she had given me back the $5. The cashier told her yes, but then looked at me and asked, "Didn't I?" and I told her "No, you only gave me my receipt and my Albertsons card back." The cashier did not respond to my statement. It seemed as if she ignored me. The manager left with the Michaels card, and the cashier told me that the manager would finish the transaction at guest services. I had asked her where guest services was and ONCE AGAIN, she ignored me. So I just stood there confused about what was happening. Thankfully, the cashier gave me back the $5. The manager came back to the register and continued with the transaction. She told me something, but I was confused by what she told me and she became impatient and condescending towards me. After clarifying what she wanted, I gave her the $10. The cashier told the manager, "Wow you know how to handle this" and the manager haughtily replied, "That's why I have one of these" while tapping her nametag. After paying, getting my bags, and walking away irritated, she loudly told the cashier, "Give all of these people discounts" (meaning those waiting in line behind me), which made them happy. Meanwhile, I am leaving the store extremely irritated because I did not even receive a simple apology from any of the workers or the manager for not listening to me and ignoring me. The next day, I completed an online survey about my experience. Two days later, the manager called me and asked what happened. Throughout the conversation, she cut me off and did not let me explain my experience fully. She kept thinking that the problem was about the pricing of the Michael's gift card when I kept trying to explain to her that the problem was that the workers (as well as herself) are not listening to their customers. She still did not understand. I ended the conversation by stating that I would not be returning to this location because I was treated with disrespect from her workers as well as herself. And she replied, "Okay, thank you!" and hung up. So if you feel like being disrespected, go ahead and shop here. But if you are like me and do not like feeling ignored and disrespected, I would advise you to shop somewhere else where the workers (and managers) care about their customers. read more

Very clean, including bathroom. Food is of good quality and well stocked. I love that they open new lines very quickly once there are 3 or more in a line. They can ramp up very quickly with this and call all hands to deck. I was once in the store when the checkouts suddenly got slammed and they opened 4 new lines in less than 2 minutes. The checkers are friendly and professional. The baggers do a good job for the most part. My dislike of this store is the frequent rearranging and moving items to completely different aisles and sections. I often find the changes to be completely illogical and inconvenient, well at least for the shopper. I am sure that there is some intent to increase sales by forcing customers into a section of the store that they would not normally go into. First it makes me hunt forever to find something like trash bags that were moved from somewhere around aisle 8, with like items, to aisle 2 with completely dissimilar items and the aisle label doesn't even convey that trash bags are in the aisle. They are grouped in with "Food Storage" in the ethnic foods aisle. What!? read more
