I have been past this location a few times and always think, what a pleasant looking patio for a drink! This weekend, my partner and I checked it out. It's quiet, ambient, and socially distant. Even though you're close to the street, it feels like a relaxed meadow. I had a few sour beers and the wings (Jamaican and Thai 50/50) and my partner had the ahi. My husband and I stopped here for dinner on our road trip and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food came out quickly. We shared the seared sesame ahi appetizer and it was great. He had the elk burger and it was cooked perfectly. I chose the Jamaican Jerk chicken and all I can say is wow! I know this is a brewery, and it does have brewery fare, but I've got to say this by far has some of the best food in Grand Junction. The brewery style restaurant is actually pretty up-scale and has some nice ambiance to it. I've had the bad luck to always order something so-so. But everything my husband has ordered has always been yummy. His favorite being the jamaican pork. Very tender, seasoned well, and just savory. I've seen the outdoor seating, which looks really nice but haven't had the fortune of taking advantage of it. Definitely try this place, it shouldn't disappoint. :) read more

I've been coming here for a while with my family and the menu is awesome. After recently turning 21, my friend and I decided to come here to celebrate with drinks. Due to the pandemic, people who have recently turned twenty one have had to apply for their new licenses online. The result has been a strange looking sparse ID in the mail from the DMV. The manager refused to take the ID, despite it being completely legitimate and also yelled that her response was "hell no!" In front of many other guests. My poor friend was mortified and tried to show her the receipt as proof that the ID was valid but she wouldn't give us the time of day and walked off. Overall we are confused about this interaction and pretty bummed. The server was lovely and I respect her trying to do her job correctly. I hope restaurant staff can be informed about these new pandemic-era ID's because most people who have these are going to have a very hard time buying drinks legally! read more

I have worked in kitchen for 13 years....this place is mediocre at best. I gave it two stars because our server was relatively attentive, not for the food. The gyro had the tiniest amount of meat, no flavor and...well....you can see. The sweet potatoes looked and tasted like when you go to a fast food restaurant and you *know you got the bottom of the barrel fries. The salmon and risotto...sad. the sauce was thin and watery, overly sweet. Risotto was overcooked and everything lacked salt. And this place is EXPENSIVE. I've been coming here ever since Gladstone's went out of business and ale house moved in. Unfortunately,after last mondays meal I won't be returning. My problem started with a hair at the bottom of my fries,what made matters worse is the waitress should have at least comped half the ticket. she did take off the burger and fries but that just isn't sufficient enough after finding that kinda nastiness! (Tip for the kitchen manager) have your employees wear a beard and hair net to prevent this happening. So long ale house!! read more

This place has the best food and selection of craft beers and house wells in town. The dining staff is superb and the cuisine is all made in house. Anything from carne asada nachos to chicken marsala( best house made sauce anywhere) and elk burgers. The menu has a great variety of cuisine and the drunk menu gives you plenty of choices to fit your mood. We live thus place and the people employees here. read more

Food was delicious and our server, Edwina, was wonderful. The ambiance was pleasant and we enjoyed ourselves up until the bill. What soured our visit was the mandatory service charge we were surprised with. Instead of raising prices to "increase wages of our kitchen staff" they advertised one price on the menu and then added an arbitrary charge to the bill. We still tipped because of Edwina's hard work, but instead of leaving a glowing review we won't be back due to this underhanded practice. read more

we have a baby in the NICU; looking for food nearby - two different occasions- HORRIBLE SERVICE !! 1. Sat outside - server was rude , and short with us. 2. sat inside - half way through meal someone propped door open and lit cigerette like 2 ft from our table - did I mention I have a baby in NICU- ya no thanks !! Notified staff they treated me like I was jusr complaining- took forever to get server to get basic stuff like condiments , check. Both times servers were passive aggressive. Been here a few times, some at busier times and a couple in the middle the day, and have never left disappointed! The first time was on a very busy Friday night and we had to wait quite a while for our food. Our server was great about checking in with us to make sure we had drinks and to apologize about the wait. This was greatly appreciated and made the time enjoyable even if it took a bit longer and the food was worth the wait as well! Delicious! The second time was slower and we sat at the bar; the bartender also had a fantastic attitude and was good about checking in with us! Will definitely be returning! read more

I went here with my fiancé Alex and my friend Tyler last week while in town for Country Jam. I ordered the moscato, Alex ordered the Odell Drumroll, and Tyler ordered the Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout... all of it was delicious. For dinner, Alex and I shared the NY Style Pizza (half cheese/half pepperoni, red onion, and italian sausage) which was delicious and HUGE! Tyler ordered the bison burger with fries and loved it. And for dessert, Alex and I shared the peach cast iron which was amazing! The only reason I didn't give the restaurant five stars is because it took our waitress (Alyx) a while to check on us, especially for a drink refill. Alex's beer sat empty for a good 15 minutes which is a bit much. But everything else was great - so we'd probably come back. read more

We've been to the Ale House a few times when we lived in GJ, but trying to make reservations is greatly frustrating! The FB and Ale House websites both list the ability to make reservations, but this is actually not available online. The restaurant website gives the option to email, but my email was never returned. The only way to make reservations is by calling, and it's dicey whether someone will answer the phone. Open Table provides a great platform to make reservations, and either this or providing a plug-in on the website would be highly recommended! Or - at least answering emails? Cheers! read more

The pork and grits here is one of my favorite dishes in town. The grits are cooked well unlike a lot of restaurants that try to make them and the green chili sauce is mild and has a lot of flavor. In addition to the food, the beer selection from Breckenridge brewery here is awesome. The Avalanche is my personal favorite but they are all good!
