While I do recommend Ale's Kitchen, the professionalism & cleanliness need attention. I have visited Ale's at least 3 times and can say the food is consistently good as well as the drinks. The menu is fairly priced and provides nice options, especially for breakfast & brunch. I have no complaints about the food or the service. The hostess was nice enough & the waitstaff have usually been adequate. My suggestion is to keep the restaurant cleaner overall and have your waitstaff eat meals in an area away from diners. The restrooms, floors, and tables were not clean and several members of the staff were eating at the bar then returning to check on their tables. Both indicate a lack of attention by supervision. So, what happens in the kitchen? I will likely return, but if the same is noted I will likely choose another eatery going forward. read more

Stopped by Ale's for brunch while passing through Midlothian. The service was prompt, food service fast and the food itself was delicious. I had the pancakes/eggs/sausage/hash browns and my wife had the french toast/eggs/bacon/hash browns. The restaurant itself is very spacious and there are TV's everywhere. Parking is plentiful. The wait wasn't bad, the service was okay. The concrete floors and crowd made the experience unpleasant. A room full of people trying to have conversation turned into loud chatter with nothing to buffer the sound. The kitchen was busy so our son was told he couldn't have his burger cooked to his preference??? My toast was crunchy, the scrambled eggs were more like over easy and the waffle was burnt on one side. When we saw our server we were able to ask for drink refills and she was pleasant. We had the perfect Breakfast for dinner here. It's a hidden gem. I'm not a big omelette person but at the time it sounded good and it WAS! Service was good too. My only constructive observation, and maybe it doesn't bother anyone else but, the lighting is very warm in the front room and very cool and blue in the bar area. Is everyone getting cold food or is it just me? Our food was cold, the order wasn't right and waiting was quite a while. Our waiter was sweet and she was fun. Did feel bad cause it seemed like she was very busy going back and worth between inside and out. But it also seemed like every waiter in the restaurant was serving us, bringing out our food, or we had to ask them to get something we've been waiting for, because the girl was so busy. Wow! What a cool restaurant hidden away in this strip shopping center. After frequenting a business a few doors down I had the opportunity to stop in here for weekend brunch with my spouse. The place was crowded but the wait line was moving quickly and we took two seats at the bar. What a fun brunch! The staff was attentive and friendly. Met up with friends for post-party hangover fest. Got a table quickly (although we saw people waiting after we got in), the wait staff was great. The menu was extensive, too much to choose from-I narrowed it down to four dishes before I finally pulled the trigger & got the Monte Cristo & a spicy Bloody Mary-hair of the dog, right??? Friend ordered chorizo biscuits to share with the table. The biscuit's texture and taste was spot on with a homemade one. The monte cristo reminded me of the ones I would get at Bennigans', from the batter on the bread to the side of preserves & sprinkling of powdered sugar. They used a spicy salt (maybe Tajin & salt) on my requested spicy blood Mary. I am excited to go back & try another dish. read more

Visited this a.m. for breakfast. Had the bananas foster alecakes. Came with two eggs, sausage patties and home potatoes. Plate was huge. Quality and cleanliness was superb. My sister had the monte Cristo. She said it was delicious. Again, huge portion of food. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back soon. Much better than that "other egg place" that recently opened. I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the waitress was not knowledgable concerning the menu options. We had 2 questions and she could not answer either one of them. Didn't offer to find out either. We found that odd. Breakfast taco consisted of a terrible excuse for a flour tortilla folded flat in half. By flat, I mean there was next to no food inside. The little that was in there was tasteless, except for the cheese .The home fries were not that good either, and again, about half as much as you would expect for an order.
