My family and I frequent this restaurant. It's very close to home and the food has never disappointed. The hot chocolate is very rich and creamy. My daughter and I usually order that and water in the winter and lemonade in the warmer months. We almost always order breakfast food there that we can't replicate at home. My husband always orders their french toast, my daughter gets the mickey mouse pancakes off the kids menu, and I try and mix it up a bit. Most recently, I tried the breakfast burrito which was massive! I got it with chicken chorizo. It was delicious and made for yummy leftovers the next day too. Their eggs Benedict options are all delicious as well as their skillets and omelettes. Definitely try this place out! They aren't open past 2:30pm though. So definitely aim for brunch time. read more

We stopped here to today for brunch. We had an opportunity to many more things than usual. Alexander's had some great kids options that appealed to both kids. My youngest ordered both the Cheeseburger Melt and the S'moreos Pancakes. My other child like the Melt so much she stopped eating her Eggs Benedict and orders the Kid's Melt. Both gave it 5 . My friend ordered both the Chicken Salad Sandwich ( subbed a pretzel roll) and the Creme Brûlée Oatmeal. He thought both were good. I had Avocado toast which was ok but I would try something else next time, the toppings were sparse as you can see by the pics. The sides of fruit were fresh berries and watermelon which was a nice surprise. There are a variety of options for both breakfast and lunch. The waitress was nice and the restaurant was clean. This place is awesome! My husband and I have become regular customers. Why? Simply put, food is great, service is great, prices are fair, and the owners are very nice. What more can you ask for?! Oh wait, how about using local fresh market meat from Reems market in Elburn, using Oberweis ice cream for shakes, fresh squeezed juices, Intelligentsia espresso bar, and the mouthwash and lotion in the bathroom... yes! This was a place I have been wanting to try. I feel it has potential, but needs to work out Some kinks. Kids did not feel good he pancakes were as good as other breakfast places. That is a basic must fix issue. We were there in March. and it was a warm day. It was really, really too warm for the temperature outside. Was pleasantly surprised with this place that I pass all the time. Brought my toddler with me who ordered his bacon extra crispy and they didn't disappoint. He polished off his breakfast. I don't usually write reviews, but Alexanders warrants one. The atmosphere is wonderful; the decor is modern and comforting! Even though the restaurant was packed, the Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Mediterranean salad with chicken skewers and the reams market burger. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The burger was simple but delicious and very filling! The sweet potato fries were to die for...probably the best we've ever had! We finished off with an oberweis Oreo and cookies and creme milkshake, which was the perfect dessert. Will be back again tomorrow (...it was that good!). Consistent. The berry salad is delicious. Just a diner feel. They do a lot of things very good, but nothing over the top great. Subpar breakfast in comparison to Brunch Cafe which is located in St. Charles and Roselle. So for lunch and dinner, this is consistently decent to good. For breakfast, not even worth it. read more

This is my wife and I's favorite breakfast spot in Saint Charles. Everything on the menu is fresh cooked so well. He wait staff and girls working the check in counter are all very nice and wonderful at their job. The best part of the menu is anything that specifies the meat is from Reems butcher house. It's a local butcher that always has exceptional choice cuts. Don't get me started on the cinnamon butter for the pancakes!!!! That is without a doubt my favorite part. Very happy to see an upscale alternative for a family meal other than Colonial Cafe. And with Cocktails! Great wait staff great menu from breakfast to lunch and reasonably priced. Contemporary decor clean and new. I ordered the grilled fish tacos and they were wonderful. My hubby ordered the Ruben and he said it was very good balance of meat and sauce. When we pulled in to our hotel, we saw the Alexander's restaurant, and relaxed, because we knew we'd have a great breakfast. There are about a half dozen or more breakfast options in St. Charles. This has become our go-to choice. Frequent diners. The entire family finds something to love. Eggs are farm fresh.
