Alicia's Market is a very popular spot among locals. Every time I visit, I usually run into friends picking up their orders, which says a lot about how consistent and well-loved this place is. Be sure to come early, as some items tend to sell out by the end of the day. Highly recommend the poke and their freshly cooked meats. If you're a fan of turkey tail, they also serve one of the best versions I've tasted.

A small neighborhood place to get some truly tasty local style plate lunch meats and poke. My sister did a quick search and fortunately we were close by on Nimitz. The market is on the first floor of a two story apartment complex, take out only, the variety and flavor of poke selection is awesome - in addition, the Hawaiian/Chinese selection are awesome - char siu, roast pork; I did not try the Hawaii cuisine (lau lau, kalua pig, etc. and will try it during my next visit). Parking is limited (stalls in front), but they quickly open up as folks go in and quickly depart after picking up their take out meal. And yes, the poke and roast pork are definitely recommended. Look for the Alicia's Market sign. or you will miss the place as it's located in a residential/industrial area. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Alicia's Market is a great local stop on the way or coming back from the airport. They're takeout only, you order at the counter deep inside, wait for your food, then pay for it on your way out. They are a market, so you can grab some drinks or chips while you wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the shop is cute with vintage vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their bowls are hefty, and I got a split of poke and char siu, while my partner got poke and their crispy pork. Their crispy pork is the way to go, and you can pair that with chinese mustard for a kick of tang and spice. Their char siu was decent but on the drier side.

Their food is always the best Hawaiian food Lau lau ,t tails poke. Always have people waiting in line. Saw hamachi ginger poki great for drinking.

ROAST PORK 10/10 MUST TRY I know they have poke, and it's good, don't get me wrong. BUT YOU HAVE TO TRY THE ROAST PORK. The juiciest yet crispiest pieces ever. My husband and I have had our fair shares of crispy pata, lechon, and all things fried pork, but this is both of our favorites. After scarfing down poke throughout the whole trip this was a good break. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Warning: no seats inside! We went to a nearby laundromat to use the ledge as a table![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great--they were so sweet and helpful when we had questions about what to get. Overall, this would be on my list to visit just for the roast pork alone even!

I've been waiting for a few years to come to Alicia's and try their food. This place is authentic and is basically a mini mart that serves food and some local goods. It's a stop and shop type of joint; get in/get out. I finally had the chance and took advantage in ordering their roasted pork belly and wasabi masago ahi over rice. Right off the bat, the flavors were so bold. The pork had a nice texture with some crisp from the skin and the masago was delicious which I think pairs beautifully together. One thing only, it's super salty. The roasted pork was salty which at times, made my teeth tingle. I definitely needed a drink every time I ate a few bites. Dipping the pork into the Dak yellow mustard vinaigrette did not pair well because of the strength in salt and taste of the mustard. I recommend the cook just laying back on the salt a bit; maybe it's what they're used to here.

Amazing! How do they get the pork so crunchy yet tender? Such a delicious bite and the wasabi poke was good too. Personally I would probably skip the mac salad next time. I'm so glad we were able to eat at Alicia's while on our trip. The service was fast and the food was fresh!

Ooooooo if I say anything is worth the hype when you visit Oahu, this poke spot is it! We waited out in the parking lot for this place to open as their hours are limited. Food (5/5): sooooo tasty! We got the salmon poke and the tuna poke! We also got a bowl of the roast pork. All of it was so tender and flavorful! We finished every last grain of rice! Delicious! Service (5/5): the line was building up right as they opened but operations worked quick! You should probably know what you're going to get prior to going if it's your first time. But I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff were friendly and gave nice local vibes! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance (4/5): the outside is deceiving because it looks like a garage door but inside they have an area with snacks, an ordering area and the back filled with all their fresh ingredients.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a to-go place, not a place to sit down and eat so be prepared.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The area has limited parking but it wasn't an issue when we went.

First time Coming to Alicia's Market since they were devastated by a fire. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store now is super clean and without clutter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service fast and friendly . I ordered a laulau, Limu ahi poke and spicy ahi poke, also a bag of boiled peanuts. The lau lau had a good ratio of fat to meat. And not overwhelmed with luau leaves. Ahi limu Poke was good. The spicy Poke on the hand was gummy. Not sure why. Boil peanuts we good tasting and jucey. Enjoy

I went to Alicia's and I ordered my normal roast beef and wasabi masago. In all the years I've been having this, the meat was dry. I've never had this happen at Alicia's before. I did notice that they weren't cutting it as normal but it was precut in a hotpot or something. I hope this was a onetime issue but time will tell. Serve is still great and friendly, poke still good it was just the meat being dry.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here for a weekday lunch and was really pleased by the local feel, delicious food, and friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They happened to have the miso butterfish as their lunch special, so I had to order it. It was one of the best butterfish I've had on the island, and the potato Mac salad that came on the side was unique and so ono. Can't wait to come back and try the poke.

Ask the Community - Alicia's Market

Do they take credit cards for payment?

Do they still serve their regular plates or just bowls?

Last time I went a couple months ago it was only bowls.

If i get there around 1pm, will there be any left?

Yes. We are here right and it's still kicking

Are they still serving their pateles?

I didn't see any when I went a month ago. But I found out that Yama's sells em too, or go to the Pastele shop in Kalihi.

Does the roasted pork contain any soy sauce?

Kalua pig back on the menu?

I'll be in Hawaii in late May, will they be reopened or still in temporary quarters?

I believe they will still be in temporary quarters until summer. However it's still worth a trip. Their poke and roast beef are to die for!

Do they provide plastic forks & napkins? Also, is there a place close to sit down & eat? I'll be…

Yes they provide utensil and napkins. No, there is no place to sit. We just drive to the harbor nearby and park there to eat in our car.

With the temporary express market right now, is there any other items besides the roast beef and poke ? I saw a review that showed the mac salad and roasted pork, but didn't know if this was valid or not.

They now make char sui, turkey tails, furikake salmon! For sides they have Mac salad, roasted & boiled peanuts. Slowly adding on and switching out items throughout the Week.…

TL;DR Fantastic…read morepoke. Manoa represent!!! ----- Off the Hook Poke lives up to the hype. There's a constant line out the door filled with locals and tourists alike. And for good reason. Off the Hook delivers consistent, high-quality poke bowls (trays?) in the heart of beautiful Manoa Valley. I've been coming to Off the Hook since it opened way back in 2018. While the prices have steadily increased, the delicious poke has remained the same. For poke bowls, you have several options to consider: 1) Mini or regular size 2) Rice option (white, brown, sushi, or green salad) 3) One or two choices of poke At this point I've tried almost every one of their poke offerings, and they are all fantastic. You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose. However, I'd say 95% of the time I stick with the Cold Ginger Ahi and the Spicy Ahi. These are guaranteed hits. I also really like the Wasabi Furikake Ahi. Lastly, makes sure you load up on their free toppings! Masago, tempura flakes, and scallions. Yummmy!

Off the Hook advertises auction-fresh ahi, which distinguishes it from other poke joints that use previously frozen fish. Since I was a first-timer, I opted for a sampler: 1/4 # of each of the following: Shoyu Poke, Kilauea Fire, and the signature Cold Ginger Ahi, which my friends have been raving about. All three were good and seasoned perfectly: just the right amount of sauce. My favorite, hands-down, was the Cold Ginger ahi, which pays homage to the Cantonese ginger-scallion sauce served over chicken, and not oily: wonderfully fresh grated ginger in this! Shoyu was also on point: nice sweet umami sauce. Was actually expecting much more spice in the Kilauea Fire, which had a mild chili flavor. Miso gave it depth and richness, making the sauce gochujang-like in flavor. Arguably, the only downside would be the price point: 1LB= $33.99 1/2LB= $16.99 1/4LB= $8.49: expensive, but excellent-quality product, and definitely fresh, with melt-in-the-mouth fish.

Although they've only got a few flavors of Poke, it's perfectly enough! They give you a hefty amount of rice and poke with every bowl; I always have some left over every time and their poke flavors are always SO amazing, regardless of what combination you choose (although, I would recommend their Gingah and Spicy Shoyu together). Although I love their bowls, I would absolutely recommend getting their pound of poke deal. You can divvy up the weight of poke any way you want, so usually my husband and I get a quarter of a different flavor poke and just make our rice at home--the only downside to doing this is that you don't get the fun toppings (furikake and crunchy mochi). Also, just a disclaimer, their space is extremely small with limited bar-type seating, so plan to take your bowl/food to go if you want to be comfortable. The only reason why I'm docking 1 star is because unfortunately, some of their toppings are a little too expensive to add on for the amount that you get. Other than that, Ryder's will not disappoint--I promise! I always recommend this Poke Shop to all of our visitors and I'm not stopping now--try Ryder's out if you're in the area!
