Second time hear as we came here last year and loved it. Ordered a rice bowl with poke and roast pork this time around. I'm not sure if things have changed since last year, or that the novelty has worn off, but the poke taste was okay and that the roast pork was a too salty. The freezes are unique but it was too sweet for our liking. That said the poke was fresh and felt like it melted in our mouths. We went to Foodland earlier in the week and the poke from there was better, at least from a taste standpoint. The staff were friendly as last time, so their service is commendable. Parking is tough as there are a few tight, dedicated spots in front. If you can't get one there it seems almost impossible to find street parking around the area. Got the meat and poke bowl. There was very little rice, and the spicy ahi poke was very very sweet. I ran out of rice eating the entree. They definitely make it like that intentionally but it is not my taste. On the other hand the roast pork was extremely salty. For $20, this didn't feel like it was worth it. The market is on the first floor of a two story apartment complex, take out only, the variety and flavor of poke selection is awesome - in addition, the Hawaiian/Chinese selection are awesome - char siu, roast pork; I did not try the Hawaii cuisine (lau lau, kalua pig, etc. and will try it during my next visit). Parking is limited (stalls in front), but they quickly open up as folks go in and quickly depart after picking up their take out meal. And yes, the poke and roast pork are definitely recommended. I've been waiting for a few years to come to Alicia's and try their food. This place is authentic and is basically a mini mart that serves food and some local goods. It's a stop and shop type of joint; get in/get out. I finally had the chance and took advantage in ordering their roasted pork belly and wasabi masago ahi over rice. Right off the bat, the flavors were so bold. The pork had a nice texture with some crisp from the skin and the masago was delicious which I think pairs beautifully together. One thing only, it's super salty. The roasted pork was salty which at times, made my teeth tingle. I definitely needed a drink every time I ate a few bites. Dipping the pork into the Dak yellow mustard vinaigrette did not pair well because of the strength in salt and taste of the mustard. I went to Alicia's and I ordered my normal roast beef and wasabi masago. In all the years I've been having this, the meat was dry. I've never had this happen at Alicia's before. Since they've re-opened the menu has changed a ton. They only do bowls and the Hawaiian plate now. They used to do combo with two meat choices and your choice of poke. The poke is still the same and great. The roast pork I found the skin to be chewy and tougher. Not as crispy as when they had the old location. I mean I've had two roast pork orders already and I found the skin to be this way. Maybe I just got a bad cut? I doubt it. Not the same so I can't keep their rating the same. For a bowl it's almost $20 now! You can find other places that you get more with the same quantity or greater for less. Just not the same. I think I'm going to take a break until I hear otherwise from other helpers that they've improved. read more

This place was a hidden gem that was suggested by one of our good friends. Located within a convenience store lies this amazing place that not only has great poke but also amazing crispy roast pork. The roast pork was so popular that we waited 15 minutes, just to get it, but it was worth every minute. Super crispy skin and very juicy meat. For the poke options, we got the sampler and it was preset, but every option was delicious. I would highly suggest getting more of the Ahi as that was our favorite fish compared to the salmon. This is going to sound critical, but here goes. I had the roast pork and rice. It had nice flavor, but it's a bit on the saltier side. You definitely need to take a bite with rice. Maybe I just got the ends or maybe bc it was closer to their closing time and I got whatever was left overs they had, but the skin was chewy. Some parts had crunch, a lot of it was like gnawing on a piece of jerky. When you make Chinese style roast pork, you're supposed to poke holes into the skin so the fat "fries" it up when you're broiling it. Sometimes, when you don't poke enough holes, it makes it chewy.
