    SWAG to take home

A small neighborhood place to get some truly tasty local style plate lunch meats and poke. My sister did a quick search and fortunately we were close by on Nimitz. The market is on the first floor of a two story apartment complex, take out only, the variety and flavor of poke selection is awesome - in addition, the Hawaiian/Chinese selection are awesome - char siu, roast pork; I did not try the Hawaii cuisine (lau lau, kalua pig, etc. and will try it during my next visit). Parking is limited (stalls in front), but they quickly open up as folks go in and quickly depart after picking up their take out meal. And yes, the poke and roast pork are definitely recommended. Look for the Alicia's Market sign. or you will miss the place as it's located in a residential/industrial area. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

ROAST PORK 10/10 MUST TRY I know they have poke, and it's good, don't get me wrong. BUT YOU HAVE TO TRY THE ROAST PORK. The juiciest yet crispiest pieces ever. My husband and I have had our fair shares of crispy pata, lechon, and all things fried pork, but this is both of our favorites. After scarfing down poke throughout the whole trip this was a good break. Warning: no seats inside! We went to a nearby laundromat to use the ledge as a table! Service was great--they were so sweet and helpful when we had questions about what to get. Overall, this would be on my list to visit just for the roast pork alone even!

I've been waiting for a few years to come to Alicia's and try their food. This place is authentic and is basically a mini mart that serves food and some local goods. It's a stop and shop type of joint; get in/get out. I finally had the chance and took advantage in ordering their roasted pork belly and wasabi masago ahi over rice. Right off the bat, the flavors were so bold. The pork had a nice texture with some crisp from the skin and the masago was delicious which I think pairs beautifully together. One thing only, it's super salty. The roasted pork was salty which at times, made my teeth tingle. I definitely needed a drink every time I ate a few bites. Dipping the pork into the Dak yellow mustard vinaigrette did not pair well because of the strength in salt and taste of the mustard. I recommend the cook just laying back on the salt a bit; maybe it's what they're used to here.

I went to Alicia's and I ordered my normal roast beef and wasabi masago. In all the years I've been having this, the meat was dry. I've never had this happen at Alicia's before. I did notice that they weren't cutting it as normal but it was precut in a hotpot or something. I hope this was a onetime issue but time will tell. Serve is still great and friendly, poke still good it was just the meat being dry.

Alicia Popped in after we landed to grab poke for lunch. $14.95 for a bowl of poke and rice. Spicy ahi- the sauce was too sweet. Wasabi masago- good flavor.

Ooooooo if I say anything is worth the hype when you visit Oahu, this poke spot is it! We waited out in the parking lot for this place to open as their hours are limited. Food (5/5): sooooo tasty! We got the salmon poke and the tuna poke! We also got a bowl of the roast pork. All of it was so tender and flavorful! We finished every last grain of rice! Delicious! Service (5/5): the line was building up right as they opened but operations worked quick! You should probably know what you're going to get prior to going if it's your first time. But I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff were friendly and gave nice local vibes! Ambiance (4/5): the outside is deceiving because it looks like a garage door but inside they have an area with snacks, an ordering area and the back filled with all their fresh ingredients. This is a to-go place, not a place to sit down and eat so be prepared. The area has limited parking but it wasn't an issue when we went.

First time Coming to Alicia's Market since they were devastated by a fire. The store now is super clean and without clutter. The service fast and friendly . I ordered a laulau, Limu ahi poke and spicy ahi poke, also a bag of boiled peanuts. The lau lau had a good ratio of fat to meat. And not overwhelmed with luau leaves. Ahi limu Poke was good. The spicy Poke on the hand was gummy. Not sure why. Boil peanuts we good tasting and jucey. Enjoy

Came here for a weekday lunch and was really pleased by the local feel, delicious food, and friendly service. They happened to have the miso butterfish as their lunch special, so I had to order it. It was one of the best butterfish I've had on the island, and the potato Mac salad that came on the side was unique and so ono. Can't wait to come back and try the poke.

So this is like a in between 3-4 star, we had high hopes as this is a known local spot, we ventured 30 minutes from our hotel using ride share. We got the combo meat bowl and the large fish platter, so we got to try a variety of things. Fish felt fresh, but the spicy ahi tuna wasn't that spicy, we like SPICE. So a let down there, each different fish didn't have distinct different flavor, it all felt very similar..If you come here, stick to the one flavor over the rice. Its possible that the fish wasn't over the rice that the flavors didn't melt into the rice as (intended). Would I come again? Yes if I had a rent a car, but taking two ride shares felt expensive for the quality.

Poke was very fresh!! Roast pork was Chinese siew gee with the crispy skin and was pork belly. Very flavorful. A great find. Get there early cause they sell out.

Only da best boiled peanuts on the island!! Consistently THE BEST! Always a must! I searched for years when ward warehouse went out which is where our family always used to get them... and had a hard time finding that perfect flavor again until finding Alicia's market! Not only is the boiled peanuts top tier, so is the poke!! They finally moved back into the larger space so they now have so much more available in their cold counter and menu. Make sure to go early because Everytime I go, they sell out!

Today I got to try the Hawaiian Plate and it was very tasty. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

Do they take credit cards for payment?

Do they still serve their regular plates or just bowls?

Last time I went a couple months ago it was only bowls.

If i get there around 1pm, will there be any left?

Yes. We are here right and it's still kicking

Are they still serving their pateles?

I didn't see any when I went a month ago. But I found out that Yama's sells em too, or go to the Pastele shop in Kalihi.

Does the roasted pork contain any soy sauce?

Kalua pig back on the menu?

I'll be in Hawaii in late May, will they be reopened or still in temporary quarters?

I believe they will still be in temporary quarters until summer. However it's still worth a trip. Their poke and roast beef are to die for!

Yes they provide utensil and napkins. No, there is no place to sit. We just drive to the harbor nearby and park there to eat in our car.

With the temporary express market right now, is there any other items besides the roast beef and poke ? I saw a review that showed the mac salad and roasted pork, but didn't know if this was valid or not.

They now make char sui, turkey tails, furikake salmon! For sides they have Mac salad, roasted & boiled peanuts. Slowly adding on and switching out items throughout the Week.… Read more

I missed the photo op but there was nothing captivating. The spicy sauce on the spicy salmon couldn't cover up the gamey taste. Same goes for the miso ahi, but it was slightly better than the salmon. The poke wasn't cut consistently, had some stringy pieces, and wasn't cold enough either. It seemed like it had been saturated for a while, too slimy. Plastic or styrofoam bowls would definitely help with the presentation. They're currently charging $20 for poke bowls served in a mini plate lunch container filled with mostly rice. The best part of the trip was the gelato. It's not theirs, they are vendors for Il Gelato. The dragonfruit and mango lilikoi combo made up for the mediocre poke. I would return for the gelato.
