We came here for dinner on Friday night and found out there's complimentary valet or validated parking in the deck which was an added bonus! I had made a reservation, but there was still plenty of open tables. The manager took us to our table and also checked up on us during our meals which was so nice! We started off with the guac and salsa sampler which had 3 salsas and 3 guacs to try with unlimited chips. The fire roasted and tomatillo salsas were my favorite from the salsas, and the salsa negra was good but a little too sweet for my liking. The guacs all were super good! I loved the pear-date chamoy one which was so unique as well as the one with the chimichurri and cheese on top. I think they just needed a pinch more of salt but otherwise quite good. For our mains, we went with the patatas Bravas, chicken tinga verde tacos, crispy shrimp tacos and the Baja fish. The patatas Bravas were pretty tasty! I really Loved the aioli sauce drizzled on top which made the potato's even more flavorful. I also liked the fact that they weren't deep fried but roasted. The chicken tacos were pretty flavorful and the pico and crema complimented the tacos really well. The shrimp tacos were also super tasty and had a nice pineapple salsa which added a touch of sweetness to the dish. The Baja fish dish was enough for two people and came with a variety of sauces and salsas and 6 tortillas. Overall, it was super filling for the four of us. We finished off with churros which was the perfect way to end. The churros were quite delicious with a crunchy exterior and soft inside. It came with a Mexican chocolate dip and banana caramel sauce. The Carmel sauce was super good and you could definitely taste the bananas! Overall, it was a super nice dinner and really enjoyed it!

I ate here with one of my friends and we thought the pictures on Instagram looked great. The food and service weren't great but the ambiance was lovely. We had the guac and salsa sampler to start and it was so small. We also had to wait for the server to bring chips for a while and their chip baskets are very tiny. I was also not a fan of the round chips they have as it's just annoying to have to break them and they are very hard to bite. I had the pork belly appetizer too and that was the best part- cooked well & very flavorful. We also had to wait on our server to refill our waters multiple times and it was a very slow night for the restaurant.

The food was pretty decent. I came for a quick bite for lunch. I got a blackberry margarita and wings. It was pretty good. It's fancy Mexican but I mean it definitely did what it needed to do. The service was nice! The young man helping at the bar was talkative and nice and the ambience was very buckhead fancy vibess. Ultimately, a nice lunch. I will have to come back try something else.

I would describe Alma as an upscale Mexican restaurant serving street tacos, gringo style. There was a lunch special of two tacos for $13 and they have some interesting options including a fried avocado taco. I had the pork which was just ok. Certainly, a $13 meal is a good value assuming you do not add many sides like drinks and chips. The meal came with black beans and rice. Service was friendly and the street tacos came out quickly.

I can't even begin to explain what a wonderful evening we had here. A friend and I went on a small getaway to Atlanta and he had heard about this restaurant. So we quickly made a reservation so that we can have this experience. All the food was absolutely delicious. There is no way to pick a star of the show because it was all amazing. Go hungry, go with friends, go share, many many delicious treats that are on the menu. The spice levels, the attention to detail and the love that is put into the food preparation shows. The chef even came out to our table for a quick chat. This is a very low-key beautiful restaurant however, I can see you when there's a lot of people it might be a little more rowdy :-)

Gave me food poisoning. Me and my friend. I do not recommend this place to anyone My waiter was sweating the whole night and he dripped on me several times while talking to us. I have a hard time even looking at the food photos. My friend & I had this really bad food poisoning from this place.

I was hungry after leaving Treat Your Feet across the street and decided to grab a quick bite. I was seated as soon as I walked in. The bartender and my server, Miranda I believe, was very attentive and explained the menu and drink options for me. I started with a blood orange margarita with Tajin on the rim. It was beyond delicious. Since it was happy hour, I had two spicy chicken empanadas and the chorizo croquettes. The crust on the empanada was so fresh, flaky and paired will with the spicy chicken filling. The croquettes exceeded my expectations and the sauce it came with was truly delicious. I can't wait to return again for another great evening.

Nice mexican spot with elevated flavors. I've tried a few dishes and loved them all. I also love some of the unique margarita flavors they have. The only con is sometimes they run out of dishes on the happy hour menu. I think when they happen, they should replace it with something else for the day.

It was very quiet in there on a Friday night. We had a 7pm reservation, and there were between 5-7 other parties dining during our 3 hrs there. Parking is plentiful because it's the Terminus parking deck. Alma Cocina validates parking for up to 3 hours, so that's usually plenty for most diners. You can also valet your car, but we opted to self-park because it was easy. Naranjarita margarita - VERY GOOD, not too sweet Pork belly Masa - piece of pork was very fatty Guacamole trio was interesting and tasty. The apple chamoy was an unexpected combination for avocado, but it worked! It had a slightly smoky flavor and was not overly sweet. The hearts of palm guac was good, but had more of a bright lime juice flavor compared to the plain guacamole.  The prawns small plate was really good. Presentation was pretty and enjoyed how bright and spicy the base sauce was. It came with 2 triangles of bread, but i could have used even more to get all the sauce up. It also had a bright flavor that reminded me of Tom Yum soup. I wonder if there was lemongrass in it. Either way, i recommend it!

This place has great food! We were able to go on a Friday night with no reservation which shocked me but the place was a little empty... people need to be going here! Such amazing food now it just needs better vibes.

Should have called ahead. Drove all the way from downtown Atlanta. Parking isn't easy here at all. Valet for $10. There is public structure across the way. Been to Alma once before. Food is decent. This location is a pain to get to.

Spicy chicken empanadas. Not worth $15 for two small empanadas on a plate. Outrageous!!!

Alma Cocina has been on my list for several years and this past weekend during my anniversary I was able to visit for the first time. Highly overrated and expensive!!! While we enjoyed the decor and the service was good we found the prices for the food and drinks to be outrageous. 1. Ordered spicy chicken empanadas. $15 for two small empanadas on a plate with sauce. For this high price there should have been 3 empanadas on my plate. 2. Barbecue brisket Huarache $15 for one piece on a plate, for the price it should have been two on the plate. 3. Infused ice cube drink, my man ordered it. What arrived at the table? A small glass of passion fruit and a separate glass of ice. Price?? $18. Outrageous!!! 1 cocktail and 2 appetizers, $58 and we were still hungry! My man gave a good tip of $15 and bill blew up to $73!!! Server asked if we wanted to order anything else.....yes the check!! Not enough options on the menu and as I stated at the beginning of this review the prices are outrageous. Even basic stuff like 2-3 tacos on a plate will cost you $19-$24!!! Now I understand why two couples walked into the restaurant, sat down at a table and within 15-20 minutes they were walking back out and leaving. I bet that this restaurant sees this happen every day. Would I return to eat at this restaurant again?? No. Why?? I don't like to have my wallet robbed. Would I recommend this restaurant to other people?? Yes if you enjoy your wallet being robbed for small drinks and small plates of food. Message to manager/owner - please don't rob your customers. Infused ice drinks should cost no more than $8-$9, stop charging $18 for this small drink. Add another brisket Huarache to the plate. Add one more empanada to the spicy chicken empanada plate and please expand your menu and add additional options for the main plate.

    Pork enchiladas

Visited with my coworker for my birthday lunch. She's always raved about the good food, ambience, drinks and small bites. Everything lived up to it! To start we did the guacamole trio - traditional, strawberry chamoy and charred spring onion, cotija. We ordered from the lunch express menu - pork enchiladas and mushroom enchilada. We shared the sweet plantains served with crema, chili-agave and Queso cotija. Neither entrees are on their regular menu and were scrumptious! I also ordered a nonalcoholic drink from the bar. It was like a piña colada made with coconut milk. Very refreshing and tasty. I felt lime we transported to a resort based on the service, food and ambiance. Maybe it's me but the hostess, manager, our server, the chef serving plates and man being the bar were melanated so that was cool! Top tier, fresh locally sourced ingredients and great energy from everyone. I can't wait to try more on the menu!

Fives across the board…read more Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.

Right when we walked in, the staff complained to us that we hadn't called ahead to have a "smaller, special menu" crafted for a large party. To make matters worse, they loudly announced to the whole table right off rip that they wouldn't split checks separately--only an even split. It felt incredibly rude, lazy, and unwelcoming. The irony is that the large group size wasn't even an issue; we staggered our arrivals and the patio was completely empty. The kicker- my brother in law ended up paying the whole tab at the end anyways! so all of that initial laziness & nastiness for NOTHING! Throughout the night, the service felt incredibly rushed and stressed. While we were still eating our appetizers, the busser was aggressively trying to clear our plates because the mains were coming. Our server was very short with us the entire time, which was confusing because the restaurant didn't even have a stressful vibe. She recommended a main dish to me that I really didn't care for, though I will say the salsa was unique and probably the best part of the meal. Shoutout to the one staff member who was actually friendly, but overall, this is not the kind of place where you leave feeling like you had a nice restaurant experience- at least I personally didn't.. Too bad we didn't just go to C&S next door which we always love. Regardless tho, my sister had a blast, but that's entirely because she has a wonderful crew of great friends, not because of Casi Cielo.

They have quickly become my favorite place to get Mexican food. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on Buford Highway in a small shopping plaza. The lot is medium sized, but they are sharing it with a few other businesses, and depending on the night it could definitely be hard to find a spot so keep that in mind. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!
