*This review is based off their breakfast menu. FOOD: They have a big selection for breakfast including different Omelets, Hawaiian favorites, and sweet dishes. All the entrees we ordered were just okay however. Everything was too basic with some items being overcooked. I ordered the Loco Moco. The patty was well overdone that gave it a rough, crumby texture.. even with the gravy! I also tried the Kalua Ham Hash & Eggs. It was also very underwhelming.. nothing special. All the food our party ordered would have been good at a basic diner and with the right price. For how much each entree cost, I should be expecting more.. definitely overpriced. AMBIANCE: A very nice outdoor setting with a view of the ocean. The restaurant had a nice island feel that is good for groups and socializing. SERVICE: All the employees were very nice and welcoming. Service was just a little slow. Our food took a long time to be served and it also took forever just to get a water refill. TIPS: I would probably try this place for lunch and dinner next time. This was recommended to us by our friends and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and service was great. For our party of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids), we had the Poke and Furikake Fries to start. Our 13 yo son ordered the Mochiko Chicken and he crushed every bite of it. Our 7 yo son (picky eater) had the Spam Musubi and he said it was ono! Hubby ordered the Pork Belly Buns and Chicken Wings, both were tasty. And, I had the Ali'i Plate (King's Plate) which was so filling. And for dessert, we had the Upside Down Pineapple Cake which came with a drizzle of Pineapple sauce and a scoop of Vanilla ice cream, and the Lilikoi Sweet Cake (special) which also came with a scoop of ice cream. Did a Google search for the best loco moco near the Marriot Ocean Club and this place was at the top. I would have to agree. Grate lock moco and great service. Prices are pretty decent for the area. Very busy place! We stopped by here after a day trip to pick up dinner. We opted for take out and our order took about 20 minutes. They have a parking lot but it gets full fast. The restaurant is right along the beach and next to the Old Lahaina Luau location. If you're waiting, they provide seating, water and a misting fan. We sat right on the edge of the property by the water so the meal started off perfect. The wait staff was super nice and catered to our needs. I ordered the fresh catch plate of swordfish and my wife had the fresh catch sandwich of Mahi. My original plate was like warm but had a lot of flavor so I asked for it to be heated up and they brought me a brand new plate with an extra piece of swordfish within minutes. It was perfect. The rice needed a little more sauce. My wife's Mahi sandwich was great but needed a little extra spicy mayo sauce to help moisten the sandwich a little more. The sweet potato chips needed a sauce for dipping. Great view. Great service. Still highly recommend the food read more

Me and my wife stop into aloha mix plate yesterday for lunch and I have to say the new layout or the restaurant is awesome and the food is delicious. The only thing that I do not like is the birds that fly around . My wife and I where sitting next to the water looking out at mala with all the beautiful boats right at sunset. I had one bird that landed on are table and took a pop on my phone . That didn't bug me , but when we got are food and started too eat the delicious food . Half way through are meal 2 other birds land on the light that were hanging up right above us , end up popping right on my food . So if u go to aloha mix plate do not sit in the open areas. Omg I adore this place inside out. I wasn't here before the remodel but I love what I see. I'll post a pick of the view we got. The staff are just welcoming and fun. Laid back. The food is great. I got the short rib one night and that was just plain delicious. What more can I say. Beef in Hawaii is my fav as I don't eat fish. I tasted the pork and that was delicious too! The food is pretty good. It took a while to get a seat and every server/bartender/hostess seemed annoyed at every question and interaction. The mango lemonade were both from boxes (when you eat in Hawaii you become accustomed to eating everything fresh). We did get the fried noodles which were delicious. Aloha Mixed Plate. There seems to be a lot of hype around this place. Let's see how worthy it is... Location: a plus for sure. It's on the north side of Lahaina, which I've noted before is great for being away from the tourist foot traffic. We ordered some Mai Tai's to start. It was happy hour and at $3.50 how could we not? BTW...beers were $1.50 while we smile. This is yet another place that is not going to win awards for a Mai Tai, but they are serviceable and sucking down two prior to giving this review may just work in their favor. The order consisted of... The Crispy Korean Shrimp This should be the signature plate. Dashed with a pepper sauce and garlic mayo. The garlic is light and the creaminess of the mayo and light battering makes this a perfect texture. The flavor is subtle, but lingering. This is stuff that makes a kitchen and a customer. Wow. We ordered a second plate. The Aloha Mixed Plate This is the namesake of the restaurant, so how can you not order it? It's teriyaki beef, shoyu chicken and fresh Mahi Mahi (catch of the day). First, I'm a bigger fan of Ono, but that's me. The Mahi Mahi was moist, tender, flaky and grilled perfectly. Mahi Mahi tends to have more of a fishy flavor to it, which is why I don't jump at ordering it up. This time it carried a little of an ocean flavor, but nothing that kept me from indulging. The chicken may be the shining point in this dish. Thin, skin on and a touch of sweetness--it was cooked with care and was still moist. The beef, well I tried it and it was good although my wife and son decided to leave nothing more behind, so that goes untouched in this review. I suppose that's just fine with me, because it had me order up another plate of Crispy Korean Shrimp! Oh, yes, and a Mai Tai. If there's anything additional to add its that they have a walkway just south of the patio where a few children migrated while awaiting food. It was safe and in eye and ear shot thus allowing the kids to play and make friends. To top it all off they found a small coconut, which kept the little ones busy with curiosity as they managed to crack it against the tide wall. As for the service, you cannot say anything negative. They were attentive, timely and I swear they poured heavy just to make me smile all the way through happy hour! Ask for Jennifer if you are hoping for the same experience. In summary, you will not go wrong here during happy hour nor likely at dinner time. Next visit I'll give a dinner review, but for now I'm left beyond content, slightly buzzed and with money in the pocket to move on to the next review. Mahalo! Our first night in Maui and we decided to stop by here for a bite. We put our name down, thinking it would be a long wait since we're a party of 8, and went over to the bar to grab a drink. We were warmly greeted and the manager, Robert, told us what drinks he recommends. My friend accidentally dropped his but the manager was on it, asking a waitress to make another. He was even nice enough to take a photo for us and directed us to where the lighting would be best. We were quickly seated. Our food came out very quickly, orders were all correct, and it was delicious. We got several loco mocos ( which were amazing!) and a few aloha mixed plates - all of the food was cooked perfectly. The fish on the mixed plate was moist, and so was the chicken. The waitress was helpful and informative. The manager was awesome. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was on point. In addition to the waitress, the manager even came around to check on us during our meal. High marks truly for the manager. He went above and beyond, and anticipated our needs without us having to ask (like when my friend dropped his drink). read more

Appetizer wasn't served as oily as expected from a deep fried plate. We had the Mochiko Chicken and Kalbi Ribs. Ribs had good flavor with extra sauce. Chicken wasn't too dry and had good texture. Absolutely amazing food and service. We started off with really good coconut prawns that we dipped in a yummy mango salsa. My husband got the Mixed Plate and I got the Beet salad. The salad was so fresh and crisp with pineapple, almonds and beets over fresh greens. It had a light vinaigrette which made it amazing. The pineapple upside down cake was even more amazing!
