We used Always for multiple repairs. Most recently for a clogged drain. Kass Tabrizi, the Tech, was very professional. Explained the charges, what he was going to do, recommended things to prevent it happening again, and also was very respectful of our house - wearing protective shoe coverings and preparing us for potential overflows. I'd say the fees were reasonable for what it takes to do the job right. Everything is expensive and you get what you pay for. The pipes weren't the only thing that got reamed. 1 star for rip-off pricing. 4 star for actual work. Had a 4pm drain clog at our rental house in SC. (Single mom with 2 kids living there.) Couldn't get anyone out until the next morning but our tenant found Always Plumbing. They were very intentional about getting the service call fee covered by tenant before showing up. That was odd, but it made sense after I got the $850+ estimate to unclog the toilet. (Not a sewer main clog). Their business model IMO seems to be to collect as many service call charges as possible by giving ridiculous estimates. I knew we'd pay a premium for an evening service call. The plumber was actually surprised when I said yes because he acknowledged what a rip-off the price was. He did clear the clog but I never received the receipt I asked for. read more

If you have a plumbing emergency (especially two days before Thanksgiving) call Dan and he will treat you like you are his own family. An Indiana native, Dan took our enormous project on at 7:30am and spent the next 14 hours determined to get our water back on for Thanksgiving. I needed my main line snaked due to a slowing water flow in my kitchen sink. I requested services from other plumbers on yelp but Always Plumbing responded along with others. I gather Yelp sends out my info to other companies in the same field. Always Plumbing came out the same day and snaked my main line. Brandon provided me with an estimate which seems high compared to other companies. Brandon and Joe worked cleanly and my water flow problem is fixed. We had an emergency on Friday night.... all drains/toilets in the entire house backing up..... nasty! Even the showers..... to say it was a crappy situation would be both a pun and an understatement. We called the property management company and they called all their contracted vendors.... none would come help saying maybe tomorrow or the next day. that was simply not an option. I would like to update this review about the company. I just received a phone call from a nice woman who apologized for the bad experience I had with them. Although her apology can't change the fact that this employee did something that was unethical she did explain the fact she will resolve this issue with this person and she refunded my money completely. The fact that she took the time to handle this issue says something about their management. I just hope they can get quality employees that do have scruples and don't try to rip people off just because they're lazy or having a bad day. I managed to break an old PVC pipe connecting to a hose bib and shut-off valve at 7 AM, had to shut off the main water supply to my house, called Always at 7:30 AM, and the technician (Amen) was at my house around 9:30 AM. That's an incredible response time. Amen quickly assessed the situation, gave me a quote with a few options, and got the work completed and the water restored within ~30 minutes. All of that during heavy rain (of course I had an outdoor plumbing issue on a rainy day). I am very pleased with the quality of Amen's work, his professionalism, and speed. Potential customers BEWARE! You are not a priority for this horrible business. They will wait until the last minute, then renege on their word in an attempt to back you into a corner by making you pay fees they previously agreed to waive. I called yesterday (Friday morning) to request a service call. Joanne from dispatched picked up. After I asked if there was any availability Friday afternoon, Joanne informed me there availability tomorrow (Saturday morning). I.e., she ignored my request for a Friday call. Joanne formed me the inspection fee would be waived. I explicitly asked several times whether the fee would be waived regardless of if I proceeded to hire Always for the job. Joanne confirmed the fee would be waived regardless each time. I confirmed the scheduled service for their morning window of 9-11am and was informed I would receive a text from them when the plumber was approximately 30 minutes away from my home. At 8:39 this morning (Saturday) I received a call from Joanne informing me there would be a $152 service fee today because it was a Saturday. Joanne 1) did not provide me with an option of a service call yesterday or even tell me they were completely booked and 2) knew yesterday that the service call would occur in a Saturday...fantastic business practices! read more

Called for several items to have looked at....shower with decreased flow, new toilet flapper and install kitchen faucet. They would not give any estimate, even just ballpark over phone. They charge $52 to come out which is applied to total of work done. Arrived in a timely manner, donned a mask at our request.Spent a few minutes looking at shower with my husband. When asked price of kitchen faucet install.....unbelievably the price quoted was $603.00!!!!!!! That is LABOR ONLY as we had purchased the faucet...just a simple one hole faucet. If they supply faucet it would be $900 plus!!!RIDICULOUS, ABSURD. If we had them replace the cartridge in the shower it would be over $300. We have bought and replaced the cartridge before. Took about fifteen minutes and cartridge cost $34 on Amazon. For whole showerngut replacement $1200. For these prices we could remodel the bathroom! At this point we did not even have him look at our toilet which has a small leak. Wrote him his $52 checknand sent Zack on his way. He was polite and nice. No bad on him. Just way more than we are willing to spend on simple plumbing jobs. Will just live with it until we find a more reasonable plumber/ handyman. Guess they make most of their money on $52/ visit. If she had given us a ballpark amount we could have saved themnthe trip and time andnsaved us $52 wasted. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. Save your money and time and look elsewhere. read more

Don't trust them and don't use them. They won't show up or even call to say they are not coming. My water heater stopped making hot water. At 2:30 pm on a Friday I spoke to Always Plumbing after finding them on an ad that said they are 24 hours (their name is Always after all). They said they'd have a tech to my house around 5 or 6. At 6:30 I called to see where the tech was. The dude who answered said "I just got here and we've got 12 jobs on the board. I don't think we're going to make it. Let me get a grip on this snd I'll call you right back." No call back came. I called them an hour later, then 15 min after that- no answer. They never showed up and didn't call or text to tell me so I could find another service. Horrible business. Don't use them. Pristine Pluming did come out but because of the delay Always cost me, not until after 10 pm. read more

Absolutely ridiculous experience with this company, don't waste your time. If I could give less than a star I would. There was an obvious leak coming from underneath the fridge we discovered this morning, we pulled out the fridge and could clearly see where the water was coming up from. Called the first number that came up on google (unfortunately this company). A rep by the name of Patrick came out and charged $59.00 to do the exact same thing we had already done (look behind the fridge with a little flashlight) and tell us what we already knew (there's a slab leak in the area). He had NO other equiptment outside of a flashlight. Then they quoted OVER $600.00 in addition to the little flashlight inspection to provide an actual slab leak detection, and wrote another quote for a repipe - ON A PIECE OF NOTEBOOK PAPER, that's right - nothing you would expect from a professional company which would resemble a quote on a company letterhead with breakdown of labor, materials, time, or any other detail. Many of the neighbors have had leaks, it's prevalent in South Orange County, and the typical price for detection is between $250-$450 (the highest being in an extreme case where floors had to be ripped out and a tension slab needed to be cut into to locate a manifold that was unusually placed in the living room), per discussion with 6 neighbors who just went through this within the last 12 months. Most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with, beating myself up for calling the first number that came up, and throwing away money and wasting time on these people, when I needed a problem identified and solved quickly. Don't even waste the phone call. Take 10 minutes to read reviews (which don't lie) and call professionals who won't charge you for turning on a flashlight, write a joke of a quote on a sheet of notebook paper 1st graders use to practice the alphabet, and attempt to charge 3x market value for a service when there is so much qualified competition in the market place. Had a shower valve break. I couldn't get the valve cartridge out so we called Always plumbing. They couldn't get the cartridge out either. So they had to come back the following day to cut a access hole to replace the entire valve instead of just the cartridge. Understandably it is going to cost more. The quote was high at $1150.00 The price was way too high but we are desperate to get the water back on. Also, if I had bought all the tools required and hardware it would have taken me longer than the next day. I am a auto mechanic, so I knew a professional plumber could likely get kit done quick. I agreed to the price so Iam not complaining about the rip off price. The problem is the craftsmanship. Before we paid I inspected the repair. There was no caulking around the new bezel that goes around the valve. No it won't leak water, but geez have some pride in the appearance of your work. Secondly the handle on the valve came loose and completely off during normal use. The handle never had the set screw tightened. If you are going to charge a $1000.00 in labor to do a 1.5 hour job. Make it nice and professional. Don't slap it together like a I don't give a $&(@ and leave. What a asshat. I won't call them again. read more

I paid a $124 call out fee and then the technician wanted $250 to snake the toilet and if that didn't work he quoted me $695 to remove the toilet and clear the drain. I told him that was too much $ and ended having to pay $124 for absolutely nothing. In the end, I watched a YouTube video on how to remove a toilet and fixed it myself in less than 30 minutes. I needed a plumber to address my drain in the backyard. Saw what Great reviews Always received. My wife called and made an appointment. On the day of the appointment the serviceman was 2 1/2 hours late. No call, no apology. I had to call myself to find out if he was even going to show. When he finally came, he could not fix the problem and recommended another gentleman, "who specializes" in the area relating to our problem. At the time of making the 1st appointment, my wife explained exactly what the problem was. We shouldn't have had to wait for the "specialist. " He should have been sent out instead of the first man. The first tech informed us the service tech would be at our house between 0800 & 1000 today. At the time of this post it is 10:30 and no tech. Called this co to tell me what was wrong with my water heater , plumber came looked at it and suddenly it was leaking. There was not a drop before he was there. I was leaving in two days for a two week trip and had no time to shop around. Their price for replacement of existing 40gal water heater was $2450. . I've been asking for detailed invoice for over 3 weeks so far only promises but no invoice. The installation took about 7 hours no problems on my side only multiple trips to Home Depot and at 5pm the main plumber went home because it was after 5 and another guy finished the job. I don't know how they stay in business. I had them come out and explained the issue several times; a gas line to my BBQ needed to be replaced. They dug two holes, charged me $590 and told me they needed to replace the gas line. No kidding? Then two other guys showed up, ripped apart my BBQ and left. They gave me an estimate for $4875 to replace my gas line. I got another bid for half the price. Always Plumbing is really not very good at what they do. read more

We had a slab leak late one night and I had to leave a message. They called me at 7 the next morning and were at my home by 8...and that's how the whole process went. They were always prompt, showed up when they said they would and always kept me informed. We had to have cuts in the walls and ceiling to do the re-routing so there was a lot of drywall repair/patching. They textured it so perfectly that you couldn't see the patches. It was done so well that I had to point it out to our insurance adjuster when he came to see it. They were very professional, cared about doing a good job for us, efficient and prompt.
