We just returned from dinner at Ambrosia. I have to say that this is a restaurant that gets some things done really well and some that are disappointing. First, the service is excellent that shows what good training can do. Everything from asking if we were celebrating an event, where we were visiting from to checking on wine vintages were handled gracefilly. Our pre-dinner aperitif cocktails were nicely crafted. As with many managed but not top end restaurants, the wine list portends to be selective but fails to provide the vintage of the offered selections. This is a common distributor practice to get late vintage wine sold early. This led to a back and forth over the selection of a single glass - all handled cheerfully. The appetizers of red shrimp and a crudo plate were the highlight of the meal. My partner had a wedge salad with shrimp and I had the NY strip. She found the salad shrimp to be a bit salty without the requested deletion of onions. Kudos for the management to providing an appropriate credit. I found my strip steak to be of a cut that didn't represent USDA prime and served only mildly warm. Another example of excellence was the fried okra. At this location for easy access from US 95, it would have made an excellent location for a nationally recognized steakhouse chain. read more

New Napa Valley style restaurant on 30 A that I knew was going to impress me. Wine list here is probably the best in the area. While it isn't on the water, the environment is much nicer here than many of the restaurants in the area that have been doing it a lot longer. I know I was probably judged heavily for using my hands to eat the soft shell crab but it was that good. I was already being judged heavily for wearing my Baltimore Ravens t-shirt underneath a Ravens polo jacket so I can handle the judgement. Service was phenomenal and management even came by to introduce themselves. We will definitely be back next time we stay at Rosemary Beach. read more

We had a reservation for anniversary on Christmas Eve . The host sat us at a last table by kitchen which opposite the exit door /patio door. we could hear the loud noise from kitchen and the patio door kept opening on a super cold night . I was ended up sick with a cold on the next day. The steak was ok but lobster Mac and cheese was a big disappointment. we sent it back to the kitchen twice because cheese didn't cook properly and of course we paid for that. our waitress was very nice and also the ambiance. We made reservations for 6:45pm and were seated upon arrival. The server (Spencer) was very friendly and we ordered drinks. He told us about his favorites from the menu as well as what many others order. I ordered the red snapper and my wife the grouper. Both were really great and was a good portion of food. The venue is nice and the staff are attentive and friendly. We struggled to choose between seafood or steak and although we chose seafood, the Japanese Wagu would have been nice. Great new upscale addition to the 30-A area. Interior decor is very sophisticated and reminiscent of a fine Manhattan steak house. The service is exceptional. We were warmly greeted upon entering, made our way to the bar, and found the same level of friendliness and attentiveness. We enjoyed a few cocktails and ordered the filet mignon. The filet was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Overall, a five star experience for this new lux addition. P.S. To the bar manger: My suggestion is to up your game dramatically when it comes to the ice you're using in your cocktails. The ice cube in my old fashioned was small and very cloudy. The cube in a high-end cocktail should be about 2" square and crystal clear. For example while dining at the nearby Citizen in Alyce Beach the cube was large, square, and utterly clear. I asked the bartender how they achieved the perfect cube, and his response was priceless. He said: "We don't even try. We have the ice delivered daily". From the moment we stepped in the service was top notch. Everyone was polite and attentive. We decided to have dinner at the bar since we did not make a reservation. Jessica was our server/ bartender and she was outstanding. She answered all of our questions, guided us through the menu and did not let us get thirsty. We had the Angel Eggs, which were fabulous. The bacon marmalade on top was wonderful. We split a wedge salad, which was plenty for 2 to share. We had the scallops and a filet with sides of loaded mash and crispy brussel sprouts. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the sauce covered them was light and delicate to match the scallops. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and was delicious. The sides are very large, actually enough for 4 people. Both were very good and we brought leftovers home. On to dessert, which we went with the gelato. All were very good, my favorite was the salted caramel. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back. We will make reservations for a booth in the bar next time. Heart Broken, All I wanted for Valentines gift was Stone Crab Claws! I used to love this restaurant, But last night the manager of the bar area lied to us and it just broke our hearts. This is what happened, We ordered stone crab claws, when they came out, they smelled terrible and were discolored. I asked to see if they could get me another batch. The manager came over, gracious and was very apologetic, He explained that they had received yesterday a batch that all smelled the same way and he said he was going to have to send them all back. We were sad but understood and he suggested the NOLA shrimp. While enjoying our meal, I kept seeing all these orders of Stone Crab Claws going out to other patrons, I didn't understand why they were serving the claws when the manager just had explained they could not serve them as they were bad? And why were we lied to? This is so disappointing and such a shame, as this truely was a fantastic restaurant. Just concerned about the people eating the bad stone crab claws. read more

My family and I came here for a Father's Day dinner on our vacation. We were also celebrating our anniversary. The hostesses were very friendly. We had to wait 25 minutes from our reservation time. Once seated, we were greeted by our waitress Lynn. Honestly, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. The servers next to us appeared to be top-notch. We, however, did not get lucky. The food was terrific, but for a $500 meal, I would have expected better service. Waiting 15-20 minutes for refills, waiting 30 minutes to place our entrée orders, and the condescending comments were unacceptable. I will not be returning. read more

The I order a filthy vodka blue cheese martini and espresso martini. Best deviled eggs ever! They melt in your mouth and have a nice crunch to them with the shrimp on top. Very flavorful. The beef tartare was my fav..quail egg on top makes it creamy and rich with every bite. The lobster Mac and cheese I ordered as an entre and ate a quarter of and was full. It's so delish. We also ordered the lobster and filet mignon. The steak was amazing. Don't forget to get the truffle butter. It's $6 extra and so worth every bite. We spread on everything and was soooo good. I keep craving to go back now. My favorite was the ambience. Felt great being there/ also don't forget to check out their side bar last the wine cellar because it's a whole vibe in there. It is a 5-star for the food. We had snapper crudo, deviled eggs, carpaccio, and bacon rack. All were excellent. Between the party we also had she crab soup, classic wedge, truffle burrata, petit filet, ribeye, shrimp & grits, and the red snapper over jasmine rice. All were also excellent. Dessert was surprisingly good as well, the horchata tres leches was the star, but we were pleased with the crème brûlée as well. Our server worked very hard, forgot a few things, napkin & straws upon request, but not worth knocking the overall rating. There was a senior attendant that also brought mocktails for our under 21 guest...we all tried and loved them! Hoping they add the blueberry mint one to the menu. It was my mom's 70th birthday while on vacation for spring break, the original place we booked was too far so we found Ambrosia the day of and made a reservation with ease. The petite filet was excellent--and probably priced about right for fine dining. we were supposed to be able to share the sides. I ordered mashed potatoes. For $12 I expected to be able to share. Potatoes are not expensive, but this serving was more like 1.5. I'm a relatively small person and I ate the entire order with my steak. Either increase the volume or reduce the price to $8. I was quite surprised. Desserts were ok, nothing spectacular. Quite a few locals here have raved about it, but it's just a bit too pricey for me and even with larger sides, it wouldn't be a place I'd go more than a few times a year-- I know many in South Walton county could go every night, but not me! Our early September visit to Ambrosia was extremely pleasing. From the ambiance to the hostess's greeting, to the server's attentiveness, to the wide variety of food, everything was excellent, exactly what one would expect from this type of restaurant. Our server, Lynn, was very knowledgeable and patiently explained our many questions about the cuisine. She helped us make the perfect choice of scrumptious lobster bisque, a tender and juicy filet and the best grouper we've had down here. The sweet potato casserole was the best we've ever tasted and enough to take home almost half of it. Our bread pudding was extra special, and we are looking forward to returning soon to explore some of the other menu items Lynn shared with us. We just visited this new jewel in Watersound Crossings for the second time last night. It was even better the second time. Ambrosia is our new go to, and on 30A, that is really saying a lot. The food, service, and ambiance are second to none and create the most splendid eating experience. The GM Jamie goes beyond the call of duty to insure that his guests are taken care of, and he has become someone we look forward to seeing each time we are in the area. Perfect Dining Experience WOW...we had an amazing dining experience at Ambrosia on Thursday June 27th!!! Kevin and his entire team delivered a friendly and highly attentive environment from the welcome we received as we walked in the door, to the fabulous service provided by our server Anna, to the personal attention from the rest of the staff, we were highly impressed above our expectations!!! The whole Ambrosia staff went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect dinner. The Butcher's Back Rack appetizer was mouth-watering delicious as were the Pineapple Sweet Rolls. The BLT Wedge salads were scrumptious and our main entrees of Pan-Seared Grouper, Petite Filet Mignon steaks, and Joyce Farms Heritage Chicken were perfectly prepared. Our favorite side dish was the Sweet Potato Casserole, followed by Loaded Mashed Potatoes and these were a tasty compliment to our main dishes. We finished our wonderful dining experience with a New York Style Cheesecake and Seven Layer Chocolate Cake that more than satisfied my family's sweet tooth. We rank Ambrosia as our # 1 restaurant in the area displacing Cafe Thirty-A! This is our third visit to Ambrosia in the past 12 months and our family looks forward to our next experience. read more

Very nice meal for daughter's birthday. There was 4 of us, 2 of which have gluten allergies. We were pleased Ambrosia has GF menus and our server was knowledgeable of it. Just Wow... I don't normally give reviews but had to for this restaurant. My wife's birthday is on Christmas Eve and this year I forgot to make reservations. I have heard great things about this place since it opened 5 months ago so I stopped by on the 23rd to see if they could squeeze us in. The manager and Hostess were understanding and got the 6 of us a table for the following day. The staff is well trained and friendly. As soon as you enter the front door you get a good vibe from the decor and the staff. Lobster Bisque soup is delicious. Filet was cooked perfectly! Will be our new go-to for steaks! Another shout-out to the Manager who squeezed the six of us in. When he said "We can make this happen"...being a business owner myself...I knew this place knows how to attract talented employees. read more
