Disappointing After seeing reviews on Nextdoor and receiving coupons in the mail, we decided to try Country Bay Bistro. We were in the neighborhood for a basketball tournament and decided to go here. The restaurant is right next to a theater complex and yet there were almost no cars in the parking lot on a Saturday shortly after noon. I wondered if they were even open. First strike against the: they had no children's menu! Really? Half the restaurant didn't even have tables and chairs. The room we were seated in had one other group and a second one came later, Our waitress didn't seem to know much. The coupons we had received in the mail touted a "lunch special" from 12 to 5 with 12 diferent entrees or $9.99. The menu she gave us did not include the lunch special. I asked her about that. She didn't know, and went to ask someone else. She came back and said that was only Monday through Friday. The coupon didn't say that and I told her so. She only stared at me blankly. I notice they are still sending out the same ad with coupons for a lunch special that does not specify it is only good on weekdays, Despite the lack of customers, our service was inattentive. My adult daugher asked for a refill of her Dr. Pepper, but after it arrived, she found it was Pepsi, which she doesn't like. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen. She finally appeared maybe fifteen minutes later during which time my daughter was waiting for her drink refill. So we finally got that an then she didn't appear promptly with the check. My husband rarely gives less than a 20% tip, but on this occasion, he gave her a seriously reduced tip. I don't expect they will stay in business very long. Save yourself some frustration and go somewhere else. read more

Not very family friendly. No kids menu. Waitress messed up our order multiple times. She tried to fix it, but then it was like a mistake just kept happening. My bison burger was tasty. Chicken in my wife's chicken Alfredo All dark meat and tough. The kids struggled and we had to send one of their food back. We were brought food with no silverware and the waitress walked off before we could let her know so we had to get up and get our own silverware. And our drink order was forgotten. My son and I had dinner last night at this place and was very impressed! We walked right in on a Saturday night, no wait! The menu had a variety of items to choose from! Everything from steaks, fish, seafood boils, burgers and pasta! My son ordered the bison bacon burger with fries. I ordered the seafood boils with a 1lbs of shrimp. We also ordered finger steaks as appetizers. Everything was good! Short wait for food and the lady came often to check on us. My son said the burger was really good and the ties were seasoned well. This place was fabulous. They have fresh seafood. I had the king crab. My friends had shrimp and scallops. The fried rice is awesome and so authentic. Whole shrimps added to the fried rice! Just terrible. Waiter was completely clueless bringing us FLAT beer. When we mentioned it to him he was very nice but brought us more flat beer. The menu was unprofessional and appeared temporary and the food was absolutely mediocre at best. Nothing we ordered came as pictured on their web site. The halibut fish and chips was mushy. I ordered shrimp and salmon. It came in a pool of butter that spilt on myself and the table. The salmon had black stuff in it. The server was very nice and helpful, but the manager would not see us. The server said the manager said it was normal and fine to eat. I have eaten salmon hundreds of times and have never seen this. So I paid for this gross looking salmon and left hungry. Disgusting. Came here about three weeks ago to take my grandparents out to dinner. For a Friday night, the restaurant was pretty empty. Menu was confusing to order off of. We all ordered clam chowder and were surprised to see that they serve the clams in the shell. I don't really want to dig around in my soup with my hands to get the clams out but ended up having to do that. The soup was also warm at best. My grandpa ordered fried oysters and my grandma and I ordered the fried shrimp. They also threw in some calamari with my grandpa's order. My grandpa said the oysters were good but the calamari was chewy. The coating of the shrimp was flavorless and was rich. The shrimp also had an odd flavor. My grandma said the same about her shrimp. The amount of food you get for what you pay is fantastic, and all of it tastes excellent too! Of particular note is the clam chowder as this is the only place in the valley I know of that uses fresh clams in theirs. The waitress was friendly and helpful, very quick to get us what we needed and had some great suggestions for what to order. The booths were quite comfy and the fact that they'll give you gloves with your seafood boils is a nice touch! This will definitely be a regular treat for my family! read more
