My family and I go here all the time and it is one of our favorite 'restaurants'. It's a little shack on the side of the road with a parking lot. The service is always so friendly and they bring you your sandwiches to your car. You can create your own sandwich or order one of the specials on the menu. You can make it as simple, just a plain grilled cheese, or as complex as you want it. They also offer sides including french fries and tomato soup. I personally always get the mac and cheese special (mac and cheese between two pieces of bread) and it never disappoints. The bread is always perfectly toasted and the mac and cheese is delicious. It does that amazing thing when you pull the sandwich apart where the cheese literally stretches (total food porn). The best thing to do is eat it fresh but I've waited thirty minutes before eating it once and because of the way they wrap it, it was still piping hot. The ingredients are fresh and the sandwiches are never disgustingly soggy or greasy no matter how many toppings they may have. My sister ordered one of the newer specials, the Tex Mex, and said it was the best sandwich she ever had. Probably the only downside I can think of it is that it's only open from 11-3 (4pm during the summer). Other than that, the food is amazing and I have no complaints. read more

I didn't even know a grilled cheese could be perfected as an art form - but this random, hole-in-the-wall has found a way! What a total discovery! Some friends and I went apple picking yesterday and on our way home we were HUN-GRAY! Not wanting to break the bank, we tried to think of something cheap and tasty - but not the stereotypical Chili's or fast food joint. Upon doing a quick yelp search, we found this gem and it has stellar reviews - we figured we'd give it a try! We actually almost missed the restaurant - it's a very tiny shack off the side of the road with picnic-style seating on the side. I ordered a make-your-own creation: whole grain bread, goat cheese (the special cheese of the day), brie, caramelized onions, balsamic portabello mushrooms and roast beef, with garlic aioli on the side. My friends ordered the B.L.T., Dusk/Dawn and Stone Pony. Unfortunately, we were initially turned off upon ordering. There was a kid at the cash register (he could not have been more than 15) and he had great difficulty taking the orders, even the named sandwiches. He totaled my sandwich at over $9 and I said that mine added up to $7.35 according to the menu (assuming the goat cheese cost extra as a special item) - and he proceeded to get very flustered and upset when I tried to correct him. Since he was a child, I wasn't going to argue with him, especially since it was over a dollar or so. I should note he also ended up overcharging my friend that ordered the Dusk/Dawn - according to the menu it comes with "any choice of meat", but the kid said meat was extra and charged us the additional $1.60. The owner was there making the sandwiches and did nothing to help the child, but he was very friendly to us when finally delivering our sandwiches to us outside. Once we sat down to eat, we were super impressed! They really know how to make a grilled cheese here - the bread on all sandwiches was uniformly buttery and not soggy at all, packed to the brim with meat and cheese. Several of the meats here are antibiotic-free with no preservatives, and you can really taste the quality. Additionally, the toppings were all very fresh and flavorful - the caramelized onions were especially crispy. Everyone enjoyed their selections, and my friend that got the Dusk/Dawn wished they were open for breakfast so he could swing by and grab one in the morning before work. To end, we ordered the S'mores Please dessert sandwich to share - a doughnut was used to replace the bread, and it contained marscapone cheese, chocolate, marshmallows and graham cracker. My boyfriend Mike ordered it, came back out and we chatted while we waited for the sandwich, Five minutes later, the child comes out and informs us that it would be a 20-minute wait for the sandwich, as they were busy. There were maybe 5 people there total, and they all had their sandwiches already, so we were quite confused. It would have been nice to know before we purchased the dessert that there would be such a steep wait time. When it finally arrived, we were all very disappointed. It was mostly crushed graham cracker between the very sweet doughnut layers, and there was only a tiny smear of chocolate and marshmallow to be found. We agreed that we wouldn't get it again as there was not enough content. All in all, they make a fantastic grilled cheese sandwich, and that cannot be contested. However, the owner should consider hiring a real staff member instead of a child in order to ensure clarity and expedite the orders. I'd consider coming back for lunch in the future. read more

Yelp's directions via GPS took me a weird way - but once I switched to Google Maps and used the 515 Springfield Rd address instead of the coordinates, it led me right to the spot. (Pro Tip: Just make the right immediately before the White Castle on 22 East; and it'll be down on your left a short ways.)
