We were very pleasantly surprised when we tried this place after our AirBnB recommended it. We got: 1) Tri Tip Sandwich - SO great. Flavorful, tender. 2) Buffalo Chicken Wrap - my husband - and he is picky - though this was great. 3) Medium pizza (for later - it was new years) --- again, really great. Very generous on the toppings! I highly recommend this place if you live in or are visiting our beautiful California Foothills/gold country - it's a great homey place, not some canned chain food. Best pizza I've ever had. I'm usually a cheese pizza type of guy but MAN...DUDE...BRO... it was delectable. These folk have the perfect thickness crust with the most savory and flavorful sauces you could ask for. The ingredients were perfectly spread through the pizza and chopped to perfect so it wasn't just chicken in one bite or just tomatoes in one bite you got the whole experience of the ingredients every single time. Not only were these pizzas tried and true, the ambiance of this beautiful RESTAURANT was everything you could ask for stopping in the middle of the beautiful hills of Auburn it was refreshingly cool, we're talkin t shirt jeans, t shirt shorts, hoodie and shorts, it doesn't matter it's a comfortable place. You had your option of round tables and high square tables that fit more than two people because how can you not bring everyone you know here. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by an amazing host who not only made sure we had everything we needed every 3 minutes but the pizza came out in record time. Not rushed, but so efficient in a way you can only ask to receive at fast food. You can tell whoever owns this business is PROUD and PASSIONATE, about what they do and it truly shows every step of the way. Not only will I be coming back but I will be shouting from the rooftops that this is the best pizza I have ever had, and I've had em all. It was the quality of a fancy wood fire pizza for cheaper than Papa John's. Papa John himself dreams of this pizza. We ordered Fish-N-Chips, Chicken Nuggets and the Troublemaker sandwich ( not pictured). As seen in the pictures, we got our meal to go. Let me tell you that the quality of the food, unlike some restaurants, did not diminish for our meals tasted great! The Fish was cooked perfectly as to not to be raw nor overcooked, the Cole Slaw was very good and the Nuggets was a good meal. They did look like frozen nuggets but didn't taste as such. The Troublemaker was a very good but very messy sandwich. It was its namesake but a good sandwich. We are long time locals & this is AN ALWAYS GOOD food, atmosphere & service! We stopped in Sun & I had the most perfect tasting, portion lunch special! Lasagne (out of this world Italian meat sauce & cheese) nice fresh crunchy salad full of goodies & Perfectly chilled Modelo Negra garlic bread. Bud just hast side of their really tasty garlic bread. If you are coming thru the cannon or just haven't been here before, I can assure you you won't be disappointed. There are 3-4 lage screen TVs for games. No one makes better Carrot Cake than the lady who makes theirs. It's a to die for yummy cake . I always get a generous slice to go after eating. I recently moved here and thought I'd try them out for lunch. Ordered a blt, fries and a root beer to go. The guy on the phone was really nice, took my order and said it would be ready in ten minutes. I was skeptical, but there it was ready to go in ten minutes! The same guy made my rootbeer to order with a big smile and made me feel like I was their first and best customer. Great sandwich, crispy, hot beer battered fries. Very disappointing. Nothing unique or flavorful about the pizza. I ordered Italian sausage, pepperoni, burger and mushrooms. I couldn't find the sausage and the ground beef was crumbled so fine it got hard and dried during baking. Crust was tasteless. The irony is, I've eaten their sandwiches and salads and baby and it's excellent. I won't need reminding not to order pizza again. read more

Fabulous little pizzeria! Even though they are the only pizza place in town, I look forward to my favorite pizzas every time I visit Cool, CA. I personally love the Cougar Rock pizza which is kind of a carbonara with white sauce, mushrooms, bacon, etc. I also love the Confluence, which is their version of a standard combination. The crust is on the thin side, so it's got a crunch to it. This pizza takes time to cook, so relax and enjoy yourself as you await a delicious meal. read more

Super yummy pizza!! This place is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area! We had a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Grandkids and I loved it! We also had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they were tasty as well. They didn't charge extra for ranch dressing for my granddaughter like some places do. Two of my hiking buddies and I hiked over from the confluence to the restaurant. It was a nice break to sit down and relax, and we spent about an hour there. The prices are typical basic-breakfast-food prices. I ordered the small breakfast with French toast and two pieces of bacon, and I think I paid about $6. The taste was pretty standard, and the bacon wasn't bad. The staff is friendly, and they have a nice outdoor seating arrangement. Overall: decent food and very relaxing. This will probably become my tradition when hiking from Training Hill! It took us about an hour to get there. read more

I was really grateful to find this pizza place. This is the only reliable restaurant we found on a recent trip to the area. The Chinese and Mexican spots nearby were terrible. We ordered an xlarge Hawaiian pizza and it was quite good. We'd just finished a 7 mile hike and the carbs really hit the spot. I knocked off 1 star because the cashier took off her mask to go chat with her friends who were at a table nearby waiting for food. They were all standing 10 ft away from me but like, c'mon wear the friggin mask and keep it on. You're running a business here. COVID is still very much a real threat to our health & wellbeing. It's such a small thing that's required of us when we're indoors - wear a mask over your mouth and nose - and yet people have such a hard time with it. I just don't get it. read more

The first time I ordered pizza here I counted it as some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. On my second visit the pizza was hard and flat. My assumption would be it hadn't been cooked at a high enough temperature. I will be making a third visit to find out if the bad pizza was just a fluke. read more

First time back, since they re-opened to indoor dining. We ordered a lot for take out in 2020 and was happy to go back for dine-in. We've lived there for 8 years and this place was always a sure thing for quality and quantity. My go to was always a wrap, with enough to take home for another meal. Pizza was always great as their crust was really good. We went a couple of weeks ago, and didn't recognize anyone there. No problem, new people were there, as they did have a "hiring" sign a few weeks ago. Okay it's DEFINITELY not the same place. My wrap was noticeably smaller and not wrapped very well and too saucy. The pizza crust has changed, and not for the good. Not sure if there are new owners, or if the entire kitchen staff is new, but the quality and taste is like a new place. The last time we wanted pizza, we grabbed one from the Holiday Market deli section and it was hands down better! It's sad, because we've been going for years and took a lot of friends there, too. Now, we're hesitant to return and try the pasta, another favorite, as we don't want to be disappointed again. read more

I come here whenever I have friends or family in town visiting. So far, everything I've gotten there has been really really good. Pizza, wings, fish n chips and pasta. I saw some of the reviews say the owners are rude. I haven't had that experience at all. They seem really friendly to me. But as a business owner, I know the stress that comes with dealing with profit margins and long hours. I would understand if certain people got under their skin some times, trying to get a free meal or whatever. Not saying that's what the reviewers hoped for but.... Also- Yes the food can take awhile. Friday night in Cool is the best because of this place. Excellent pizza, but also has a full burger and sandwich menu that is awesome. Home made dessert counter is incredible. Most of the food is pretty decent but the price is like double what you would spend if you went to Auburn. Which makes this one of my least favorite places to go because it's way too expensive they charge virtually ten bucks or more for a hamburger and some fries and you can get a hamburger and fries for about 6 bucks in Auburn and have as good or Better Burger. read more

Worst pizza I've ever had, ordered half pepperoni half combo and it appears they cooked it as just a pepperoni then added the topping for the combo after. If you picked up your piece of pizza every topping fell off, plus it didn't even taste good. Won't ever be back. read more
