I had the WORSE experience with this place that I have ever had with a mechanic shop. I made an appointment to bring my car in for 2 new tires, an oil change, and alignment (if needed after their tests). Take note that my car was running perfectly fine before I brought it in here. VISIT #1- So, I dropped the car off and got a call back saying it did need an alignment, so I gave them the go ahead and that the car was ready for pick up right before closing. (Side note, I read other reviews of how long people had to wait, that is definitely no joke...I dropped my car off at 12:15, it took over 4 hours for 2 tires, an oil change, and alignment). Anyways, so I picked it up and noticed the car was pulling to the right. I called them back and they said that because they were closing that I'd have to bring the car back in....well I live an hour away so this was a HUGE inconvenience for me. PROBLEM #1- Alignment not done properly, having to return. PROBLEM #2- As I was running errands my car was not starting properly. My intake was cracked, luckily that was an easy repair. I doubt that they would do that to me, but this was the start of the curse of walking in to this place. VISIT #2- So second time visiting this store, I wait for 2 hours and they hand me the keys saying the alignment had been fixed. I drive off and immediately notice it was pulling to the right and was even worse now! I turned back around and went right back and Daniel at the front desk took the keys and tested it for himself. When he came back he said "No, it's not supposed to be like that." They took the car back and about an hour later they said I needed a new camber bolt but that they would need to order it and it would take 2 days for it to be at their shop. Are you kidding me? PROBLEM #3- Having to return for a 3rd TIME! VISIT #3- I took my car in bright and early to have them replace this camber bolt. I waited for 3 HOURS for them to tell me that they can't align it properly because my frame was bent. Sure I slid into a snow berm 2 years ago but I have had it aligned multiple times by mechanics who never mentioned this being an issue, and I have never felt so much pulling on my alignment as I did after coming here. So being as frustrated as I was I just wanted to get the hell out of this place... PROBLEM #4- As I'm leaving this place and accelerating on the freeway my car starts shaking really bad and just shuts off while I'm driving. I don't think they are at fault for it shutting off but my car was running perfectly fine before I stepped foot in this place and now it's not...that's why I feel this place has cursed me. Anyways, You'd think that after this they would try everything they could to please their customers....nope. The only person that seemed like they actually cared about this situation and was really cool about it was Daniel at the front counter... I had to contact the manager Hymie 3 times to remind him to refund me for the alignment they screwed up. After a week and a half of him forgetting about me and putting me off I had to get pissy on the 3rd call because he obviously wouldn't help me otherwise...well yep, 3rd times a charm...he finally refunded me for the "alignment" they screwed up. After this experience I decided to write a nasty yelp review. Well once that posted I got a call back from Hymie telling me that he was going to get me an additional $50 refunded because of my wasted time and the big pain in the ass this was for me (4 hours of wasted gas/drive time/waiting hours in the waiting area). So I thought that would make me think differently of the customer service I've been given here while dealing with this pain in the a** and so I went and deleted my original yelp review....well the last time I heard from Hymie was over 3 weeks ago and since he has obviously forgotten about me again and is not going to do what he told me he would do, I decided to put this yelp review back up. Everything you read about this American Tire Depot and it's team are true. I recently visited this American Tire after having my car at the dealer who informed me that I needed brakes and rotors because of a loud scraping noise. The dealer informed me that it was going to be around 500$ to repair my brakes and that they highly advise me to repair them as soon as possible being that my brakes were unsafe explaining that when ever my brakes are making a scraping noise it basically means I have no brakes at all. I felt 500$ was quite much so I shopped around with Firestone and discount tire and was quoted at best 395$ to repair them before I visited Robert and his team. When I arrived at this American Tire I was greeted instantly I explained what the dealer had informed me of and honestly I was looking to get a quote less than the 395$ to get my brakes repaired. After I explained my situation to Robert he offered to do a free brake inspection and immediately took my keys and brought my vehicle in for a brake inspection. After about 25 mins or so Robert approached me and asked me to accompany him to the back where my car was to show me what his findings were with my brakes. All I remember was I hope it's going to be less then what the best quote was that I had received so far. Robert walked me over to his mechanic who's name was also Robert who walked me through his inspection and informed me that they found a rock in between my brake and my brake disc. In fact they also informed me that not only were my brakes fine but in reality I still had almost 70% left of my brakes left. And the only reason why my brakes were making that horrible noise was do to the rock that was stuck in my brakes. I was so relieved that I began to cry being that my hours got cut at work and 395$ is a lot of money for me right now. Not only did Robert and his team save me a possible of 500$ he also offered me a free oil change because I was so upset and it wasn't even his fault. I highly recommend this American Tire to any one and everyone that has been lied to and improperly treated in this non understanding industry. I can't believe all the bad rap people give to my guys.. I've been coming to these guys for quite some time. I also used to go to the other Redlands location and followed Robert over when he transferred to the Colton ave location. These guys rock. I agree with everyone.. If you want quick and fast than you really need to go somewhere else.. Cause these guys they take their time to do it right. And it's well worth it.. You need to understand these guys are always busy , always on the phone & there parking lot is always full. I normally come at 7:45 in the morning and there are already people waiting to see these guys.. Why do you think that is? Do you know anywhere else that many people are willing to wait, there is a reason.. And people still complain about the wait. Of course it's going to take 2-3 hrs to do a flat repair when they have like 8 people ahead of you. Seriously need to give these guys a break they are always running everytime I come to see them. In there defense they always take care of me even giving me an occasional free oil change. I will never go anywhere else. QUICK and FAST not the place to come!! I brought my vehicle in for brakes. Front tire grinding noise.. They performed a FREE break inspection on all breaks. Breaks were fine, but I needed a wheel bearing..... costly, and it was found that I needed another expensive part, an axle?... I didnt qualify for credit, had no cash, but my family was going to help me. I planned to have it done by the end of the week, coordinating with family.. But, he said it would be a safety issue to continue to drive it, fixed it that day, and accommodated my family to be able to make payment later that day... might I add, there was a large fee missing on my bill, for a part.. Classy, top notch service. Considering the safety of their customers, and accommodating, somehow, the financial constraints of their customers. That is why I always go back to them. I have had plenty of car service from them and have recieved the same treatment over the years. Thank you Jake at the desk and to all the mechanics.. EXCELLENT. Our family has been with American Tire Company for years and have known many managers; and yet, one thing has remained constant - they have all put much care into taking care of us. We have presently had need of tire replacement because of damage to our tires (which still had substantial tread but were irreparably punctured), and though the shop takes a loss in this case the manager (Jake) has put at least as much care and attention towards us as when we bought the tires there originally - and this is the reason this company has retained, and will continue to keep, our business. For us, integrity and consistency with the people working with us are just as important (probably moreso) as the product they sell - and this company has maintained quality personnel as well as product (their loyalty has earned our loyalty). Therefore, we highly recommend this store - they sell and stand behind a good product as well as caring for their customers regardless of the monetary value involved in the visit. read more

These guys are awesome! My wife had a pretty bad blow out on the freeway the other day so we came here cause it was time replace all 4 anyways. We had the pleasure of working with Michael, definitely a stand up guy, straight foward and honest with a great sense of humor. That goes a long way in my book! He educated my wife and I on how to read the side walls of the tires and we were absolutely disgusted to find out that the set of tires I bought last year from another tire shop were 23 years old! Hence the severe blow out that resulted in 95% of the tread separating and causing substantial damage to our vehicle. We got a great deal on the tires and he even threw in a spare tire for us, the one we had wasnt in the best shape and was about 7 years old, at no charge! A job well done, we will definitely be using them again and I will recommend them to everybody without hesitation. Thanks again, Michael! read more
