I've been here many times. Usually for tire repairs. I've been to another location for a used tire. I've also purchased fairly priced tires from another Calderon tires. You get fast and straight to the point service. They're not going to upsell you stuff you don't need. They just want you in and out and that's what I like. For a tire plug, I've gotten it done a few times in as fast as I can type this review. It depends how busy they are, but if you catch the service tech idling, all you have to do is make eye contact and he's on it. Tire plugs here are $25 but you may be able to bargain like I did. I was chit chatting with a guy next to me getting his leaking wheel fixed. He was driving a Polestar and he got his wheel welded. It was $150 for about an hour labor. Not bad vs $400 for a new wheel. read more

I found this place years ago. Well when they were on Almaden after I took my new rims to Firestone which they scratched and said that they wont do anything to make amends for their screw up. Got it. I been their customer from roughly 4-5 years. I go to them to get my tire nail fix every time and my all cars. My car got nail and the tire condition was not too bad. Tires could easily go for another 5k miles on them. I got my car towed to their store and I had no spare tire. They new I got the car towed and knew I had no spare tire. The guy wanted me to spend more money and buy a new tire. He told me they cannot fix the tire. I said I dont have money so atleast fix it for now and I will come back for new tire later on. He declined to fix the tire. He knew I was stuck. I said ok dont fix it atleast give me air so I can leave from the shop. He declined to give me air and said tire is going to explode. How can tire explode when it has 0 air in it. Could have gave me little bit air to leave the shop. I left the shop without air, got air from gas station and tire repaired at other shop. Other guy recommended new tire but didn't force me to put new tire immediately. These guys did too DIRTY to me. Like come on guys, you lost a customer just cause you GREEDY. read more

Please go to Calderon Tire Service on Bascom, the staff there are amazing and the receptionist on Monterey is just rude. $35 for a simple plug in patch ? Do not go here. They swapped my back tires size 255 for Lexus 2010 IS250 to the front and the front tires size 225 to the back, causing tire, brake, and axle damage etc. due to their negligence. I am looking into filing a case as this has caused damage to my car and time and money spent. In addition, they tried to alter the receipt after admitting their fault, but I took photos before hand as evidence. Let's see how they will explain this in court, when I have all the proof they messed up in their part. read more

Be super careful with this place - - the alignment man (he might be owner) told me charge with $120 for old miata 1991- I agreed to pay for that and paid for it. The older gentleman came in for alignment too and he told him he charge for $150 in front of me. Few minutes later he came to me and ask for $30 more and said regular price is $150 if I not agree he can drop my car down when he was in middle of working on it. I wish I could give less stars!! First of all. If you want honest estimates and prices do NOT come here ! I called to ask if they had my tires in stock. The receptionist said that do and I asked for a price she told me 45 I asked her to clarify because that seemed unheard of for tires but told me yes that's the price. I told her I'd be there soon but when I got there I was told each tire would be 80$. The tire pressure indication light came on Thursday evening so I went to the nearest gas station and filled it up. The next day, I wanted to go to the grocery store during my lunch but I couldn't because that same tire was completely flat. After my spare was put on and the air put in, the tire pressure light remained on. Typically I'd go to America's Tires but I wasn't near either locations and wanted something quick. It was the evening before Christmas Eve and I was in no mood to wait. Drove by and asked on a whim. The gentleman that help me was patient, didn't try to upsell, and told me that I had a few nails in my tire and that 3 of my tires had to be replaced. I can't believe I was still speeding in the state of my tires. I need to check them regularly. Not the woman card but checking my tires was the last thing ever to come to mind. About 20 minutes later, 3 of my tires were replaced. I tipped $30. How much should you or do you need to tip at these places? I am just grateful that I can replace my tires w/o even thinking about my budget. I had the money set aside for a year just for tires. Fast and friendly. Went to replace an old tire. Very good service! Got a nice used tire, changed and mounted in roughly 30 minutes for $80. About 1/3 price of new one. The only con can be paying. They don't take American Express for some reason. Cash or debit card only for under $100. Pretty sure the City of SJ should be responsible for the huge pothole that left my rim damaged. I didn't want to heat it up and try to hammer back to normal myself, as I am sure I would have cracked the alloy by hammering too much.w These guys made sure I was aware of the possibility of cracking before they went to work on my rim. My wife's car rims are powder-coated, and I did not want to have to buy a new rim to get that one coated again. While not perfectly round, they balanced it out and I am good as almost new. read more
