Needed to get my star smog check done so I booked an appointment online and was all set. I arrived a bit early for my appointment (first appointment of the day) and a few cars already rolled up; they just needed some questions answered / inspection so I didn't mind waiting a few more minutes. Plus there was only one person working at the time, so once he was done with the other customers, he got my service started. He didn't try to push / sell me other services, and even asked me if I wanted my tire pressure checked (free of charge). After 30 mins, I passed my smog checked, paid, and left to enjoy the rest of my day. I'm definitely coming back as making appointments is extremely easy. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience today. I was going to get my smog done at the gas station across the street from work in Campbell today, as I've done over the years, but when I got there - there was an hour wait. I decided to call AmeriSmog to see if they had time. I'd heard they had a coupon and figured why not. I yelped it and saw there was a check-in discount and a link for a coupon; awesome. He told me to come on down with my DMV paperwork. I arrived and was stoked to be immediately served. I handed him my notice, drivers license which he scanned, and signed the work order. I was offered a cold beverage, which was especially clutch since it was in the high 80's today. Not even 10 minutes later, it was done. I have NEVER experienced such a smooth and quick smog ever. I've always just gone to the nearest gas station STAR smog spot where it's 30-45 minutes or so. It's a pain. From here on out, I will ALWAYS go to AmeriSmog. You should too. read more

Hands-do wonderful experience I have ever had getting my car smoged. I have a 2007 Toyota Prius with issues from the catalytic converter being replaced after getting stolen and made things really confusing for me. Dave was able to explain everything to me in a way that made sense. Also their DMV services are awesome. Dave knew more about the DMV rules and regulations than the people at the DMV offices. He also had every single DMV form you might possibly need and Dave was very knowledgable and helpful in helping me fill them out. I came in here on a Sunday afternoon, which was extremely convenient since most smog test centers are not open on Sundays. The technician Dinh was very courteous. Besides having a nice employee, this place goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. The waiting room had free K-cup coffee and sodas, and before ducking out to run the test, Dinh even changed the TV channel so I could watch the Giants game. Customer service aside, the convenience and speed also impressed me; Dinh got started on my car immediately and completed it within ten minutes. It was a far cry from the DMV-like wait times I've heard exist at other smog test centers. Location-wise, it was perfect for my errands route that day. It's in a nice part of town too, so if you want to stretch your legs, you can visit a cute coffee shop called Elva's nearby or a crafts store while the test is being run. Overall, the process here was a comfortable, convenient, and stress-free one taking less than ten minutes. I will definitely come back the next time I need a smog test run. read more

After contacting the owner, Jimmy, I was told I could get a smog for my 2011 car for a promotional price of $45, however I didn't realize I needed to mention it up front when I went in so I ended up paying full price. I was happy to get the smog done, but left a bit disgruntled. I got back in touch with Jimmy and told him what happened - he got back to me and was very apologetic about the miscommunication with his employee and told me to swing by for a refund (this was a nonissue for me as I live nearby). We arrived 9am for a confirmed appointment. The doors were locked and we could hear the phone ring inside when we called. We could only get an automated response on text, which couldn't even acknowledge today's appointment, only wanted to schedule in the future. Calling that number found a recording saying they couldn't take a message. No response to email. We waited 30 minutes, and after driving home to get a coupon for another place, saw that it was still dark as we drove past. After getting our car tested elsewhere we got a text saying it would never happen again and offering a $20 discount, and the operator claimed an emergency caused a 20 minute delay, no way. They need an emergency plan so customers can find out what's going on. Great location, but lousy business model. read more

I needed to get my car smogged and found this place online. It was near my house so I decided to try it. I was able to make an appointment online easily. There was only one guy working and he was quite busy. Even though everyone had an appointment, the guy was backed up a bit so I did have to wait past my appointment time. The guy though was very helpful and helped the lady in front of me with a window issue she was having. And her car did not pass the smog check so I think he took a little longer on her car to see if he could get it to pass. Once he got to my car though, he was very quick and I was out of there without a lot of hassle. I definitely will consider this place again when I need to get my car smogged. read more

Had to get my smog check, so happy AmeriSmog on Lincoln Ave was open on Sundays. That saved me from having to take time off work during the week. I called and made an appointment. Unlike other places you make an appointment and you still wait around, I showed up right on time and they took my truck in right away. As I waited, the gentleman working that day offered me a drink out of the mini-fridge. Awesome! On the counter was a sign with a code for their wifi so you don't get bored waiting for the smog check. I had an appointment at 10:30 am on a Thursday morning & the shop was closed, no one around, no one answered the phones, & they didn't cancel my appointment, they just didn't show up to their shop. 3 other people drove up also with appointments, only to have to turn around & leave. I have not compared prices to see if this place is better or worse than the others but it cost me $90.00 to leave after testing a 92 Ford Explorer. There was a +$10.00 fee for cars older than 1995;I have no idea why. I will say that the employee that was there was friendly, efficient, fast and generally a step above the usual suspects that I have run into trying to get my car smoged. There was a waiting room in the office with a few chairs. Coffee was available. The place seemed to be clean at least to garage and automotive standards. They also make appointments. Payment by Cash or credit card, they just instituted a no check policy after they received a bum check. All said and done I received good efficient service for maybe a reasonable price. You will have to do the research there. My wife is definitely going there for her next smog. I would give them 5 stars if I new they had a low price. If it is a few dollars more than from what I have seen for test only stations this might be worth it just to have a comfortable place to wait and a smile from the guy who does the work. I would definitely recommend them and will in all likelihood go back there again! read more

I've had my car smog-checked here twice. Both times I received excellent, considerate, and quick service. Waiting area is comfortable but there are also places to eat just a few steps away. I went for a short walk in the pretty neighborhood while my car was being checked. The location is great and the parking is easy. read more
