Amici's is a big restaurant with a large cocktail bar, patio seating and a couple of dining rooms. Decor was kind of outdated. The service was friendly but slow. My Italian Margarita was pretty tasty - I think it had Amaretto in it. My garden salad was sad and missing the olives, but my hon of hons husband's Caesar was delicious and had great croutons. I had the linguine with clam sauce for my entree and it was absolutely fantastic, with a tasty sauce and tons of clams. One of the best versions I've ever had. My hon of hons husband had the special baked ziti with peppers and sausage and really enjoyed it. Prices are very reasonable and they've got a good wine list too. Good place to grab some Italian food around St. Augustine. Went there for dinner on a weekend and was really crowded. Ordered fried mozzarella to start, which was really good as an appetizer. Last minute stop with my wife as I was craving pasta and we happened to drive by. We both went with the "build your own pasta." I had cheese tortellini in meat sauce and meatballs. Honestly, the chunks of meat in the meat sauce were so big that the meatballs were just a bonus... and so good! My wife had the angel hair pasta with pesto and shrimp. We wrapped it up with a cannoli, which was exactly the amount of sweet we needed to finish up our dinner. The service was excellent as well. So, not impressed and I definitely won't be back. I asked for chicken Parmesan with Alfredo on everything... no red sauce. I mentioned that. When it came out, red sauce was on the chicken. I get mistakes happen. So I mentioned it to the waitress, Haleigh. She told me that if they had put Alfredo on the chicken, it would have burned... and that they don' t do that. She did offer to redo it, but I figured that if they couldn't cook chicken with Alfredo on it with our burning it... why try... so I gave up. From the outside, this place doesn't look like much. Maybe even a bit on the inside when you first walk in too. They use tablets for their menu, so beware those that are not tech savvy! Had the calamari and mozzarella to start, along with side Caesar salads. The salad seemed really crisp and fresh, the mozzarella was perfectly melty, and the calamari had a good light breading. We first stopped at this place 6 years ago while staying next door at the KOA. The food is great and if anything better. Christmas dinner. Very busy but the staff was right on pace. My wife had the turkey dinner, just like home. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, great as usual we tried to split an order of spinach and artichoke dip which we could not finish. Highly recommended it. Ignore the negative comments, idiots will continue to be idiots. Want more bread, ask for it. Some of these whiney millennials should be shot and buried. Haven't been to Amici's in ages. There is a new owner. Parking is plentiful, even more so because decided on a early dinner. Ashley was the hostess and we decided to sit outside, because the weather was perfect...balmy and warm. Ashley became our waitress, and took the drink orders...Frozen Daiquiri, Pinot Grigio, and a Long Island Ice Tea. The wine was half price, and a good vintage...low on sulfites, which is food additive that ruins the taste. We ordered a Calzone, two Eggplant Rollatine Appetizers. and two side salads. Well it was for the best as this unassuming restaurant has all the old world charm of what is expected for a good Italian restaurant. 4 of us went to dinner and comedy show . I ordered lobster tails over pasta . Asked if it came with 2 small tails as on pic . Well , the shells of 2 tails were on the plate . I literally got 6 tiny chunks of lobster throughout the pasta . They didn't add up to half a tail. Shells were a nice touch! Husband got veal Marsala . Veal was so tough he couldn't he requested a steak knife and still couldn't eat it . We definitely won't go back for dinner , however , the headliner was hysterical. I made a reservation back in October for December 23. When we got in town and I called to confirm the reservation they had no record of it. I worked with the gentleman that I spoke to diligently to get us in that night. I think that might've been a mistake. When we arrived, we were seated in the banquet area. we were also given a one page banquet menu. There was a group on the other side of the petition, who was very noisy with children. We were there at least two hours, and we had not received our food yet. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. They came out when they found out that we were ready to go and try to get us to stay, but at that point we decided that it was time to go. Unfortunately, we never got to experience the food. SO DISAPPOINTED! I had been anticipating coming here after seeing yummy looking posts on social media. The first attempt was a weeknight and they were closed so check their hours before you go. Finally got to go Saturday night at 5:30. There was no-one to greet us so we sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and gave us waters to start. Then he disappeared for about 10 minutes and we almost left. He finally returned and made a great martini. He had zero personality or knowledge of the menu. At this point we were just going to try a couple of the apps since the vibe was so weird. I attempted to order the Garlic Bruschetta and he told me they were out of garlic bread. I had been under the impression they made their own bread in house so how are you out of bread? We ended up ordering the Datil Wings and they were seasoned well but not crisp enough for our liking. The other app we ordered was the candied bacon. I asked the bartender what was the heat on it because we had not read the menu. He said he had no idea and didnt know what heat meant lol. I said it tastes like datil. He said yeah everything in St. Augustine has datil. I then looked at the menu and sure enough it was datil. The flavor was good but again not cooked enough and very fatty. Now let's get to the ambiance. Its VERY outdated inside. There are 4 tv's over the bar and all of them are live cam's of downtown St. Auggie. They need to have sports or news or something else on the tv's. Attending a venue at the Amphitheatre and wanted to grab a bite to eat before, so we ended up dining at Amici's for some Italian food. Saturday afternoon about 230ish....should be good!?! Upon arrival, there were NO cars in the parking lot, so we were unsure if they were even open. Viola...they were open! We went in...and waited...and waited...then finally a staff member came out to find us and seat us. The place was bigger than one would assume from the outside, very clean, but empty.??? Plenty of tables, booths, bar seating, 2 separate dining areas, restrooms so clean and supplied with sugar scrub for your hands....and then tasty food too!?! Once we were seated....the service was fast, friendly, and hot! They had 2 menus, the regular menu and a daily specials menu. We ordered from the specials menu and got the Chicken Parmigiana and the spaghetti with meat sauce plate. Both of us started our meals with 3.00 beers and a warm bowl of bread and butter. Our stomachs were jumping with happiness when our plates arrived...pipping hot and so very tasty! Their marinara sauce was delish! I wish I could but it to bring home with me! It was a very "leisurely" dinner-- my guess is they were short staffed but even still, our waitress really timed everything so we hardly noticed. They have worked hard to clean up the place and it was very pleasant in the lounge area and we enjoyed the live music! Staff are all wearing masks and sanitizing and they take your temperature when you walk in. We had drinks and started with the Pancetta Candita.
